It's actually a good way of telling how cold it is outside (kinda). Spit on the ground- if your spit freezes when it hits the ground, it's around -25. If it freezes in midair, it's about -50 (or, in other words, REALLY FREAKING COLD!)

@WeirdJamFace If I may nerd out for a moment, Fahrenheit is determined by the following formula, where "F" means Fahrenheit, and "C" means Celsius: F=(9/5)x(C+32), or C=(5/9)x(F-32)

So, if you are used to Celsius, using the above 95 degrees F, then C=(5/9)x(95-32)=(5/9)x63= almost exactly 35 degrees Celsius. There, I have officially posted way more than anyone probably actually wanted posted here.

Small drops of hot water cool down rapidly. If you throw cold water on freezing air it doesnt transform to snow and that is because cold water dosn not go to vapour and small droplets like hot water do.
