Really amazing, how did you keep the upper palm keys in tune?? I can bend them down to tune (a good 40 cents at least for the high F!) but then it just sounds stuffy.

Not bad at all. There were a couple of intonation problems in the beginning of the second part, but overall it was a pleasant performance. Good altissimo work. I will say that your body language is a tad distracting:  it looks like you're playing jazz! LoL! I would definitely work on that, probably placing your feet together in a demi-first position (turned out at 45 degrees), and keep them planted. Make your body language speak what the music is saying. Other than that, bravo!

Great you had lots of fun playing this piece and to me that is what music all about, I'm sick of classical musicians looking dead on stage when you were just the oposite to the boredon which this music is associated with, amazing please don't change a thing abt your performance and keep on having fun & enjoying the music

I think... you play this concert very well... but the trait of the orchestra... very deficient, but congratulations!

I dont feel that your vibrato was too French, in fact, I studied with Mike Adamcik in HS and in University and the vibrato and tone that you have in this performance were what I tried to achieve. My mechanical technique was not as tight as yours but I think that I was very close in tone, not with my vibrato. I changed majors so my love for saxophone is only as an observer. I was in an All Region with Scott Pluge. Where is he teaching? We both studied with Adamcik in the late 70s,

The allegro was rather fast, but it didn't really detract from the performance. Very nice job overall!

You're right - I was all young and excited. First concerto performance ever, so I really jumped the gun with the performance tempo of the Allegro. If I had it all over to do again, I would have just chilled out.

But yeah. It's all good. I've had plenty of chances to learn from a lot of mistakes I've made in the past as a performer.

The allegro part is way to fast

it's much more charming if you play at the suggested tempo : pointed fourth = 120

i am sorry but the orchestra that is backing you up really sucks. They are terrible. So are you in grad school now or are you still in undergrad? How much do you usually practice a day? I am typically at 1.5-2 hours my self of practice time.

Yeah, played Heiden in high school.

This was when I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I have since then transferred to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX about an hour north of Houston, TX.

I currently study with Dr. Scott Plugge. I'm really learning a lot from him - he's stupid good.
