I have a question, the original G.L. was white from what I have read, but they changed him to a black man. Why the heck is a black man not playing the G.L. as he is black in the comics. I am in favor of having a movie that represents what is seen in the comics. IF the character is black make the movie mirror the comics. Now if they can't find a white guy that is good enough to play superman than make the character black if the black actor is a far better choice.

Are you kidding, the official trailer is absolutely better if your intent is to draw mass amounts of people out to see the film. It has building intensity, suspense, action, sci fi, some violence. Covers the gambit. What is created in the trailer has all the ingredients to make for a BOX OFFICE SMASH!!! Nice trailer! The ring design IS a very sharp interpretation. Sinestro looked perfect. I do have to say, though, when GL is tumbling through the air with his power lantern (0:58) he looks just a bit like a leprechaun falling down a well with his pot o' gold. ;)

There are about a hundred remakes of it out there. It's a soundtrack for the movie of the same name, which I highly recommend to anyone trying to motivate them self to quit a drug addiction. Powerful, creepy movie.

My problem with ryan renolds playing green lantern is that he's already playing dead pool. even tho there different universes DC/ Marvel. its still a little odd. if not renolds they should have gotten Nathan Fillion. First off: Green lantern is a COMIC book character, and has been way before Cartoon Network made their (JLA) animated series. There are more than one green lantern from earth. The character that CN decided to use was John Stewart the black gentleman.
There also happens to be Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Alan Scott, and Hal Jordan. All of whom are white.
As far as the movie goes, I think it's Ryan Reynolds playing Hal Jordan.
Honestly though.. Don't follow Cartoon Network cartoons for facts about any real comic heroes. Cartoon Network was using the John Stewart lantern for their Justice League animated series. A lot of guys have taken on the Green Lantern mantle.
In the comics, there are 4 green lanterns of earth. The movie is about Hal Hordan, the "black" green lantern you saw on Cartoon Network is John Stewart, another one of the greenies. (Hal, John, Guy and Kyle are the 4 greenies from earth).

The first Green Lantern was Caucasian. Not black. Several characters have worn the suit, but Cartoon Network only showed the black Green Lantern. I believe this movie is based more on the comic approach.. Not the cartoon..I'm not sure which one this is, but I think it may be Alan Scott. My complaint would be that if it is Alan, the costume doesn't match. Alan was Caucasian.

One of the strongest DC heroes.... For me his 2nd to superman..... because in the cartoon series his the last one to die... in the future battle against Lex.... and lex said he was one strong enemy.... But why GL is white American I know they are many Earth GL but.... its better if he is black... like John Stewart.... I hope its a beautiful movie...

It doesn't have infinite power if it's useless aginst the color yellow...sorta a big design flaw...It more useless the Aquaman on land...I Mean he's still badass but the game will be better since hollywood cant rape it up the ass.

My problem with ryan renolds playing green lantern is that he's already playing dead pool. even tho there different universes DC/ Marvel. its still a little odd. if not renolds they should have gotten Nathan Fillion. I have to admitt tho seeing ryan renolds as green lantern, he does fit the part. hope its awesometastic

@Elementer117 Dear Elementer 117 The reason I can tell you for sure that they did not pick John steward as the protagonist is because John, even being the dedicated lantern that he is was not the first, or the second, or even the third Green Lantern to be named as Earth's GL, he was the fourth, to introduce him as the main character in the first GL movie ever would be a travesty at best because it would mangle the story beyond reckoning.

@Elementer117 the original green lantern was white in the comic book he was white the only time the green lantern was black was in the cartoon justice league and he is a completely different green lantern they are going off the comic there are many green lanterns and the green lantern comic has been around since the 40's so they are going by a comic book because the hero is based off the comic book as is every superhero

@Elementer117 If you read the comments below you'd have realized the black green lantern aka John Stewart was only in the newer justice league unlimited. The original green lantern and a majority of them have been white or aliens of some sort. thats why the movie has a white actor. now in the future if they decide to make John Stewart find the green lantern ring, i completely agree Denzel Washington would make an awesome John Stewart green lantern.

Okay lucky1206, you need to actually immerse yourself in what we like to call COMIC BOOKS! Ever hear of the concept that there are different "universes" in the comic book world. @lucky1206 yes in the tv show the green lantern is black. However, if you follow the comics you would see that there is a white green lantern. The white green lantern was from far before the black one so its not a situation like the dragonball movie or the last airbender. just thought id fill you in.

First off: Green lantern is a COMIC book character, and has been way before Cartoon Network made their (JLA) animated series. There are more than one green lantern from earth. The character that CN decided to use was John Stewart the black gentleman.
There also happens to be Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Alan Scott, and Hal Jordan. All of whom are white.
As far as the movie goes, I think it's Ryan Reynolds playing Hal Jordan.

Honestly though.. Don't follow Cartoon Network cartoons for facts about any real comic heroes. If you want to learn about your favorite comic book hero, then read the actual comics that DC or whatever other comic book company has published. Don't base your knowledge off of a cartoon that arrived years after. They always change things that way. I always prefer the original.

Actually, the green lantern of the comics started as a white guy in the 40's. In the 50's the character became Hal Jordan, and was /later/ replaced by John Stewart - the black green lantern. Cartoon Network was using the John Stewart lantern for their Justice League animated series. A lot of guys have taken on the Green Lantern mantle.

In the comics, there are 4 green lanterns of earth. The movie is about Hal Hordan, the "black" green lantern you saw on Cartoon Network is John Stewart, another one of the greenies. (Hal, John, Guy and Kyle are the 4 greenies from earth).

wtf?! I thought that the Green Lantern is a black person? I remember seeing the cartoon on Cartoon Network as a black guy...why did they change it like this? The first Green Lantern was Caucasian. Not black. Several characters have worn the suit, but Cartoon Network only showed the black Green Lantern. I believe this movie is based more on the comic approach.. Not the cartoon..I'm not sure which one this is, but I think it may be Alan Scott. My complaint would be that if it is Alan, the costume doesn't match. Alan was Caucasian.

Yeah if you're going to get all bent out of shape over something you maybe need to make sure you know what you're talking about. The Green Lantern is a job sort of a galactic police officer. The Earth based Green Lantern was a series of people and the first 3 that appear in comics were white. The 4th one to take the position and appear in comics was black. It's not a racist thing. Go do some research since you don't know the story that you're claiming they are screwing up.
