I'd likely retire too if, I had to live on a bus with a bunch of guys & play the same songs over & over since the low 70's! Take a page from blackmore, start something fresh & diff. to refuel your creativity away fromthe limited trappings of metal & your noisey twang bar.You're better than that, aren't you? 2ND FIDDLE to tipton, why not make aninteresting cd with "just good songs" , forget your past in metal & go back to your roots a bit when you once had a good guitar tone.

@IIxHarbinger I think it's not so much him wanting a break from touring and things, I think he wanted to retire for good and Priest wanted to keep doing studio things and small tours here and there, so he quit the band. I've also heard him say that he'll never disclose some of the reasons for his retirement from the band, which hints at something more sinister. I've also heard he's opening a hotel or something. So yeah, I'd love him back in the band too, but don't hold your breath.
