Republicans defend Blackwater because it is clear that the company hasn't done anything wrong, as seen in the court cases. Issa was trying to show that many on the left have smeared Blackwater because of the DeVos-Prince family's political alignment. Much of the anger towards Blackwater has been because of the leaderships political alignment.
@JohnRhysMusician There are well established FACTS in Jeremy Scahills book. The nisour square massacre is one of those. You need to stop repeating republican lies. fascist companies like Blackwater drag the good name and honor of the USA ad the US military through the mud of war crimes and that is why iraqis are angry at the US and that's why terrorists recruiters have a field day: they don't care about democrat vs republican.
@madashelldude Mistakes are always made in war and unfortunately innocent lives are lost, but you leave out the FACT that Blackwater employees were getting shot at during this "massacre".
Blackwater/Xe, and other defense contractors have given us the world's greatest military, and they'll keep us the world's foremost military power going into the future.
@JohnRhysMusician Again: the facts are well known in Iraq because there were 100s of eye witnesses. The Iraqis are not angry with Blackwater because washington liberals told them to be.
The United States Military was the greatest LONG BEFORE the for profit fascist death squad called Blackwater or whatever it's name is today, was around and it will be the greatest long after their criminal leadership is locked up and the company dissolved for their crimes.
@madashelldude They are angry because of the distortions told by the Arab media. Blackwater/Xe has plenty of integrity. The left still desperately tries to smear it.
@JohnRhysMusician You live in a bubble: Iraqis don't have and don't need "media" to explain them what's happening on the streets of Baghdad. No amount of spin can hide facts on the ground. I truly feel sorry for brainwashed ignorant people like you, you all live in right wing zombie land.
Everything aside...Erik Prince was a Navy SEAL. He is extremely qualified to do this job, regardless of his inherited power and wealth. You can't fake being a Navy SEAL. Money can't make you a SEAL. Character is the only thing that make you a SEAL. The committee got owned by Erik Prince.
Prince's qualifications, personal abilitiy or capabilities aren't the issue. Most BW personnel are also highly competent. The issue is whether BW helps or hurts the mission in Iraq, and at what cost. Doesn't it bother you that the military, including Petraeus and even Sec Gates, is critical of BW's role?
"So many inaccuracies, so little time" My favorite quote so far!
As for Republican Co., of course they are recognized as a R - It's a successful business. I'm sure if they were an unsuccessful D company they wold be getting handouts from congress instead of being burned at the stake for doing their job.
First off if it was a (D) private security company their guns would shoot "soap bubbles" and they would be protecting trees and camels from IED's and wondering why they wern't making a profit...
