excuse the ignorant, what exactly was he doing was he triggering the sounds or mixing?

@monos112 Hes got all the instrument volumes in the sliders then he is taking instruments out and bringing them in he is also subjecting the sounds to reverb and echoes etc... this is done by turning a knob that controls the volume of echo/reverb on the track. And he is also doing slight changes in the equalization. so mixing.

SSL as in Solid State Logic. A 4000 I believe. Them and Neve (preferably the VR series) are the standard in upscale professional studios.
