  • great dark song but joy division are the kings of depression and darkness

  • totally agree with you

  • Preferred song! As some say Robert is god and Simon is his prophet LOL

  • This is what I was listing to yesterday when I slit my wrist. No other Band will ever be as depressing as The Cure. I will be scared forever. Thank you for being an outlet to relieve my depression.

  • the fact you like this music makes you worth living this world. and you're welcome for the relieve

  • obviously you haven't listened to Morrisey

  • why dose every one like simon like robert has more tallent and is so hot.. i cant get over how goood robert is.

  • Stoned or drunk. It's allways nice to play along with this music late at night. Love the cure!

  • BAH. Beautiful song. Robert Smith's song lyrics and singing voice never cease to amaze me.

  • favorite song from favorite cure album. i played this on repeat forever it seemed.

  • this song is brill the cure when they were really good

  • faith

  • is this about Other Voices, Other Rooms?

  • lemme sum it up 1ST IS PORNOGRAPHY THEN FAITH THEN SEVENTEEN SECONDS THEN KISS ME KISS ME KISS ME THEN DISINTEGRATION THEN WISH

  • While I love 17 Seconds and Faith, I put Disintegration at the top. Just my opinion. I got heavily stoned to them all. I love The Cure.

  • great bassline thanks to simon gallup...!

  • great bassline

  • hmmm...maybe this is my all time favorite cure song. still fresh after all these years.

  • Papasito!!!!

    Vengan a Colombia

  • Lo adoro también . . .ojala vengan a Colombia ¡¡¡PRONTO!!!

  • oh i didnot know that there is a video for this song!

    great song!

and Faith one of their best albums!

  • mistr GALLUP Simon is you cure

  • I'd say this is my favourite song by them only after Forest.

  • its been a long time since I 'd seen this video. Still rules!

  • I almost forgot about this song... Great BASS LINE......

  • The Bass on this album is amazing!

    SIMON GALLUP

  • I totally forgot about this song. This song is so fucking great! Good lookin out Youtube, you did a great job in creating this site. LONG LIVE YOUTUBE!

  • the cure is the best.

  • I really like the video for this song because it doesn't try to be anything it isn't. For this era of The Cure, the best and most fitting thing that could be done for a video is just to put them in a gray, foggy room and have them play. Anything flashy or literal or out there would come off as cheesy and fall flat (such as in Charlotte Sometimes and The Hanging Garden), which they thankfully didn't do here. This is just a respectful and restrained video to a great song on my favorite Cure album.

  • superb creativity at any level

  • dark trilogy is the best era of the cure.

  • Totally:-)

  • this song should of been in the greatest hits album

  • MAGISTRAL

  • timeless perfect relevent I feel it in my blood, it ehcos down the ages to the beginning of time.....

  • The best bloody Bass ever i recon , ay well it would be very hard to beat , Who cares when your wasted anyway , its the bomb , over and over and over , .......................

  • i like the bass of the cure its really nice:D

  • i have attempted to listen to as much early post-punk as possible, and the cure are top of the heap when it came to both song writing and studio production quality. amazing songs like this were given such depth, especially with robert's vocal layering/processing and the brilliant double bass part.

  • yes....god that bassline!!!!!!! When i heard this as a teenager my mind was blown...

  • Faith is probably The Cure's darkest album. Although many would disagree and point to the "Goth trilogy", folks should go back and listen to Faith and really see how dark and despairing it was.

  • faith...mmm...I think it's more dark and dangerous "pornography"

  • One of the greatest. This bassline never ceases to amaze me

  • One of the greatest. This bassline never ceases to amaze me

  • trop bon toute mon adolescence! toujours aussi craquant le beau robert!

    mon album préféré

  • I've heard this song maybe 1000 times over the last 20-odd years, and I still find it amazing every time I hear it.

  • a band warhorse

    5 stars

  • This song ought to be their anthem. Pure genius.

That bass line hooks you from start to finish.

    Great quality vid.

    Thanks.

  • This is my favorite Cure album, hands down. I love driving while listening to it on snowy winter mornings best.. ahhh...

  • Amazing!!! Songgg!!

  • How bloody awsome is the base at the start of this song great out of it music ay , Soooo cool

  • Hey...I didn't think I knew this song..but I do. I've been listening to "Faith" nonstop and haven't been looking at the song list. Silly me.

  • Fantastici Cure...

Ogni parola è inutile di fronte a questo pezzo...

    Molti complessi avrebbero da imparare...Bravissimi...

  • love it!

  • I always wonder if he... you know... heard them too lol lmao

  • Unforgettable song ! It haunts me every time I listen to it ! Faith is really my favourite album, the atmosphere is so intense... hard to decribe

  • Beautiful, haunting--and with that funky bass line.

  • Robert sings awesomely!he sounds hot when he goes auuuuu!hahhaha!chch!Yumm!hes hot!

  • wua oh my! this song is so great o.o

  • why do you never hear this on the radio ?

  • because its good

  • Yeah, and b/c it's from, oh, I dunno...1982. That's right. This song is about 27 years old.

  • Yes. Bloodflowers doesn't get much attention, but I think it's an incredible album! omg they look so young in this video! If Simon, and Robert were to like.. magically fall into my room I totally wouldn't complain.. ;;;;<.<

  • Who would complain?!

  • classic cure; the best!

  • the cure will always be the raddest.

i love the bass line in this song.

  • Some people just started calling it that but the cure has their own style they can fit into whichever mood your in pretty much =).

  • that chick is hot

  • It's a guy haha =p

  • simon is so sexy and robert beautiful

    great song!

  • I think the Cure at this time was kinda help invent Goth. I started listening in the early 80s and they were more punk , or so American radio thought. I think after this and Pornography, by around 84 or so it was turning into Goth. Then they made Goth Huge in the states with Disentegration. Well that is the way it was where I lived anyway.

  • I would not expect anyone would claim that about Marilyn Manson and his group. The history of Goth before him was fairly well known.

  • robert smith is the reason i play a jazzmaster

  • think it's the pure cure juice; concentrate of what we love/ the bass melody runs low and faster upstairs and downstairs a wave fresh.A precious voice with this fabulous echo

  • love this song and album... so peaceful..stunning

  • "the cure" will all ways be robert smith,but it won't be 100% without simon,much like led zepplin was driven by john bonhams drums.don't ever leave simon.:}

  • i love the bass lines from early cure music.

  • especially their early songs sound so.. so mysterious.. (like this and 'A Forest')

with the echoes and that stuff...

    just great!

  • bella, ciao maite!

  • i fucking love this song!<3

  • Great Song!

"Faith" is one of the best The Cure Albums

  • i'm whit you......one of the best dark fucking best music and lyrics of the cure

  • yeah, right. i call it dark and melancholic not gothic. cure are unique. they were first. than came the genre. who cares about the music industry??

  • damn right!

  • leur plus beau morceau.grandiose!!!

  • faith/pornography/disintegration

    the best of the best!

  • Please don't forget to include '17 Seconds' in that list.

  • 17 seconds the best ghotic in my list

  • Other Voices is from "Faith" but both amazing The Cure albums :) Also Bloodflowers is overlooked!

  • Cool vid!!!

  • when you say "now hes like in pain or sumthin and wearin lipstick and has huge hair"

Keep in mind hot hot hot was made 34 years AFTER this. ;)

  • o dang, how old is he?? Sorry im not that much of a cure fan cuz i only listen to their music /:

    How is he now?

  • This was made in 1981, so he was 22.

He is now 49, and he will turn 50 in April.

  • Eh cant really be..

This was made 1981, Hot Hot Hot is from 1988.. so there are 7 years in between.

But could also be that I misunderstand here somehing so.. sorry if this is the case.

  • tonight all vids are grey ;)

  • (1979 3 IMAGINARY BOYS-OPEN) (1980 BOYS DONT CRY-usa) (1980 SEVENTEEN SECONDS-new era) (1981 FAITH-dark, depression) (1982 PORNOGRAPHY-hidden classics, anger, voilence despar,) (1983 JAPANESE WISPHERS-bright light, happy, funny, different) (1984 THE TOP-psychadellic, gloomy, messy,) (1985 THOTD- everone knows me, bubblegum, death) (1987 KISS ME-mainstream, confused, hate, love, dreamy,) (1989 DISINTEGRATON-smash hits, epic, sellout,) (1992 WISH-done, historied, never agian, conclUSION..

  • Hondacor down there needs a hobby! Great band for decades!!!!! Y label ass.

  • JESSICAGOOL, You're pretty stupid if you actually think that.

  • MOAR LEIK

    ROFL

    MY

    WAFFLE

  • "you are always wrong"! That is all

  • The bassline is pretty funky! So funky that in fact the neo-Soul artist known as Res used it in one of her tunes. See, artists of many kinds of genres are influenced by The Cure, believe it or not.

  • wow

  • WTF?!

    Just one word: DISINTEGRATION.

  • Molochai:

I so totally co-sign on that. Disentegration is a GREAT album! (or cassette or CD LOL)

  • yes, I agree.

  • Ya'll should now what she's talking about, not that it should've happened, but the essence of the era. And so, there could be early Cure tribute bands that portray this era, in image and sound.

  • ...and so gorgeous.

  • Goooood Song

    Love the cure (:

  • is that really robert smith?

  • He's wearing eyeliner and lipstick there.

  • ....der.....yeah....Robert Smith....

  • Faith is the best album they´ve ever made. Hit follows hit. Makes one adore rainy days and dark clouds. And they were there for you during dull and depressive school days, unlike many others. This is what brought me through school without harming myself.

  • This is 80s, this is dark. I love it

  • By far and away my favourite Cure album. For a while back in the 80s I just wallowed in the bleak lyrics.

  • Sorry a continual, i forgot to mention he became lazy and plus he had a terrible drug habit. tut tut. though in saying that they were better when thay were drugged up to their eyeballs..sorry last comment i swear. i think i've just contradicted myself :S

  • early cure is by far the best cure!! love this song and the album Faith. I think after 1983 the cure dived so far into the commerical that, for me, they lost what made them the cure. plus that fact the (no offence, i like him) Robert Smith became a little lazy. Early Cure <3

  • sad but true, the old stuff is raw and real.. i liked Disintegration from '89 though.

  • oh yes forgot about disintegration. great album. got a favourite song???

  • not really.. hard to choose.. plainsong, pictures of you, love song, lullaby, fascination street, disintegration.. and really, there is not a bad song on the album. It's probably the last album they released (with the exception of the 'mixed up' compilation in '90) that i've really enjoyed.

  • love pictures of you!!! play it really loud and just dance like i'm on acid :D:D

  • Me too--not a huge fan of stuff post 1990.

  • LOVESONG!

  • hehe :D:D

  • I prefer this Cure to the new one... this kind of sound was their trade mark.

  • So black & beautiful :))

  • You great pillock. Stay away from my videos.

  • It is incredible that people with this so divested of that shit But as e have dare you say that?

The Cure is an English post punk band and influential in the broad spectrum of the musical world they have the baton has to be one of the first bands of dark Gothic in the world also being great musicians.

So please investigates and dont say stupid things

  • Not... really. This has some emotion in it. COMPLETELY foreign to emos, and most emos hate the Cure anyhow.

  • whats an emo???

  • It's a type of rodent.

  • Really i thouhgt it was annoying insect. Parasite none the less.

  • the word emo comes from the word emotional der

  • The word "emo" actually comes from "emotive". Look it up.

  • This "emo" term is a really loose, inaccurate term. Those who use it end up including people who have mental illness, who are suffering in silence, and don't need yet another burden foisted on their shoulders.

  • actually emo has even become a mainstream name. Even though most "emos" now-a-days aren't really emo they just listen to screamo and slipknot.

  • emo = emophiliac

  • early cure is still the best, new cure is great also, just doens't have the same sexual vibe...nail your partner next time listening to old cure music, it's like an aphrodisiac.

  • for sure ... i agree... my collection from the end of 70tes and beginning of the 80est are the best

  • God, Simon is so sexy.

  • i agree:P

  • off THe FAITH LP Other Voices i lovveee it SIMON U Jamm the bass ROBERT U back the rest up Lol u carry the beat i love u all

  • trop classe..

  • This is such an eerie sounding record with all that echoing. The video suits the song perfectly with that foggy/ghostly look. The whole thing is just bloody superb. It really does make you realise how boring and unimaginative todays music is compared to this.

  • Absolutely!

  • 100% right..

  • another exquisite composition rushing me right back to that teenage bedroom and that time of angst and dreams

  • It's pretty strange, but this song reminds me of a ghost story I was told as a kid..

  • K.I.L.E.R B.A.S.S !

  • I loved the early Cure work up to and including Pornography - intense, original, like nothing else around at the time, a very charismatic and hypnotic presence - awesome! And at 43 yrs of age it still gets a regular work out in my house!

  • oh god Robert smith is so sexy! <3

  • KILLER BASS!!!

  • this is one of my favorite albums with the cure

  • Oh this was an time.....best band ever!!!!

  • a time you mean..

  • nice funky song. love the bass nd echos!!

  • simple, but cool bass theme!

  • cool song. i like how they have the echo effects.

  • i love them :D

  • Help Cure fans - In the early 8o's maybe late 70's I heard repeatedly a Cure song that I believe was a court trial played backwards with cure playing instruments. Anyone know the song?

  • maybe you're talking about the song "pornography", there are some backwards in that song, is from 1982

  • That would be Pornography

  • the cure forever...

  • Man, the bass.....

  • Yeahh He´s gorgeos

  • Robert is so young and handsome in this video. It reminds me of Primary.

The Cure is utterly fantastic. Anyone who dislikes them must be on dope.

  • Ha ha...

  • The cure: the best band in the world!!!!!!

  • ROBERT SMITH IS A ★

★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ 100% CORAZON!!!! THE CURE!! :)xD

    ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

  • this vid is fucking brilliant !

my favourite cure vid ever... and forever ;)

    along with close to me.

  • che gioviniiiii!

  • i love the bass and sound on this whole album , it dredges your soul, pulls strings in the mind.............

  • agree,

the bass on faith is like from the other world...

  • i believe faith was written after the death of robert smith's father, so this came through on the album....i played it ofte
