This is what I was listing to yesterday when I slit my wrist. No other Band will ever be as depressing as The Cure. I will be scared forever. Thank you for being an outlet to relieve my depression.
I totally forgot about this song. This song is so fucking great! Good lookin out Youtube, you did a great job in creating this site. LONG LIVE YOUTUBE!
I really like the video for this song because it doesn't try to be anything it isn't. For this era of The Cure, the best and most fitting thing that could be done for a video is just to put them in a gray, foggy room and have them play. Anything flashy or literal or out there would come off as cheesy and fall flat (such as in Charlotte Sometimes and The Hanging Garden), which they thankfully didn't do here. This is just a respectful and restrained video to a great song on my favorite Cure album.
The best bloody Bass ever i recon , ay well it would be very hard to beat , Who cares when your wasted anyway , its the bomb , over and over and over , .......................
i have attempted to listen to as much early post-punk as possible, and the cure are top of the heap when it came to both song writing and studio production quality. amazing songs like this were given such depth, especially with robert's vocal layering/processing and the brilliant double bass part.
Faith is probably The Cure's darkest album. Although many would disagree and point to the "Goth trilogy", folks should go back and listen to Faith and really see how dark and despairing it was.
Yes. Bloodflowers doesn't get much attention, but I think it's an incredible album! omg they look so young in this video! If Simon, and Robert were to like.. magically fall into my room I totally wouldn't complain.. ;;;;<.<
I think the Cure at this time was kinda help invent Goth. I started listening in the early 80s and they were more punk , or so American radio thought. I think after this and Pornography, by around 84 or so it was turning into Goth. Then they made Goth Huge in the states with Disentegration. Well that is the way it was where I lived anyway.
think it's the pure cure juice; concentrate of what we love/ the bass melody runs low and faster upstairs and downstairs a wave fresh.A precious voice with this fabulous echo

The bassline is pretty funky! So funky that in fact the neo-Soul artist known as Res used it in one of her tunes. See, artists of many kinds of genres are influenced by The Cure, believe it or not.
Ya'll should now what she's talking about, not that it should've happened, but the essence of the era. And so, there could be early Cure tribute bands that portray this era, in image and sound.

not really.. hard to choose.. plainsong, pictures of you, love song, lullaby, fascination street, disintegration.. and really, there is not a bad song on the album. It's probably the last album they released (with the exception of the 'mixed up' compilation in '90) that i've really enjoyed.
It is incredible that people with this so divested of that shit But as e have dare you say that?
The Cure is an English post punk band and influential in the broad spectrum of the musical world they have the baton has to be one of the first bands of dark Gothic in the world also being great musicians.
This "emo" term is a really loose, inaccurate term. Those who use it end up including people who have mental illness, who are suffering in silence, and don't need yet another burden foisted on their shoulders.
early cure is still the best, new cure is great also, just doens't have the same sexual vibe...nail your partner next time listening to old cure music, it's like an aphrodisiac.
