@Icekaiser93 It's not really Cavia itself. Nier and the first Drakenguard game both had the same director, Taro Yoko. He's probably the biggest reason those games were as unique as they were.

For comparison, Drakenguard 2 had another director in charge and was a LOT less interesting and more cookie cutter.

Not to mention had that jackwipe Nowe as the protagonist which is a mortal sin in and of itself.

@lelough103 No, the concept of the whole soundtrack is how language would evolve over a thousand years, as the game takes place around that many years after the last ending of Drakengard. The key element was that languages would sound similar to their forms today, while developing a strangeness, a dreamlike, alien aspect that made them unintelligible at the same time.

Lulz makes me laugh how i came across this game xD I was in my gaming needs and my friend said one of my other friends lent him Nier. He didn't wanna play it cause it looked weird. I took it thinking it looked dumb and boring as well, but hey, i really wanted to play a new game XD So i popped this sucker in my ps3 and i will admit, that i wasnt drawn in right away, but for some odd reason kept playing it. Glad i did. REALLY good game...even though i didnt get to finish it xDD BUT I WILL!!

Yep. (^_^) But you'll rewarderd with a far deeper insight in the whole Storyline. The game has 4 different Endings iirc (beware, you should back up your files before finishing the 4th time). Right now, i'm on my third playthrough (a big "thanks" to the game designers for letting one start halfway in the game with your equipment at each "new game+"). Honestly: this game is way too underrated. What i love most is the "adult" story (in terms of the whole plot). And Kaine ;-)

I didn't get through Kaine's backstory thingy... It takes too long to read, and I really don't wanna skip it. xD

And I aggree, this game is totaly underrated. Each time I start it, I stop to hear Kaine shouting and Weiss, and everytime it makes me SOOO pumped to play! x)

Unfortunately my TV broke down, which means until i get a new one i'm sill stuck at my third playthrough - this and my job which's "eating" a lot of my time ;-) Buy yeah, you should keep on it. You'll get an understanding of what the Shades are, what is their reason of attacking you and, call it a feat., you'll literally understand what they (or some of them) are saying.As red16mage said:'game needs to be more pop.

I was surprised to hear that this game had low ratings and reviews simply because the graphics weren't sufficient for gameplay. Are those guys blind? Don't they see how much detail would have to go into such a huge, open-world game like this?

I'd like to see you try developing clear-cut graphics for this game. The faces could've been more detailed, but that's the only bad comment I have for the game. Everything else about it is fantastic. Especially the MUSIC!

@davedisaster12 I've played the game myself. Trust me - she doesn't have a dick, otherwise her outfit wouldn't have fit as well as it clearly did. She DID have a really badass attitude, though.

@Androecian Actually, in the interviews with the creators, it is confirmed that she indeed has a penis. Also one of the DLC costumes for her actually has the bulge. Furthermore, that part of her story where they said her face had a genderless look and when Dimo told her to "stop acting like a girl because everyone knew what she really was" was the clue to her hermaphroditic sexuality. You can read all this by googling Grimmoire Nier translations. There's a google doc with everything. EVERYTHING
