Paul is A GENIUS IN YOURS COMPOSITIONS BECAUSE YOUR INTELLIGENCE IS OF A SINISTER HAND.HE IS A GOD IN PIANI A MAGIC IN GUITAR A KING OF WORLD ROCK POP AND ROOL.
Love your use of tonal poetry with the brass, Sir Paul! It seems like you are enjoying 'discovering' how fun it is, to write music for such an increadible instrumnet, as a full-piece orchestra--- COOL! =)
Excellent expression of the Sea..When you listen, you feel like as if you are sea yourself. Change of tones perfectly reflects the different moments at the Sea; stormy, calm and the mystery hidden under. The spirit of the deep Ocean captured in such a balleticgrace and exposured through music so exquisitely to be dedicated to the ballet world by Paul McCartney.
Yes, Paul is like treasure, you'll never know what will do it. and this music is great, I don't know if ballet is the same, because they are some critic don't see any value in dance work. But the music is great, like Paul all music. I give to him benefit of doubt. May be the critics are influenced by a kind of envied, is not the first once.
I am amazed!! This was so beautiful everything you do Paul, is magical this year so far was phenomenal! The Detroit concert and Ocean's Kingdom! You are just plain awesome
I really like the feeling of the music. I want to dance (ballet). . I can see the ocean when I hear the music. You are magic Paul, everything you do is like gold to me; I can see the waves glistening in the sunlight. It is magnificant. I have pre-ordered the deluxe version from itunes and cannot wait to listen to the music as a whole. I am excited for you and I am excited to listen to it for the first time, all the way through.
This visualization makes orchestral music accessible in a way I've never seen before. With the "ocean" theme, every note in this striking armada of "citizen notes" is suddenly transparent and accessible.
I wish I could have been there tonight. Being a fan of Paul McCartney has opened my ears and mind to music I might never have listened to before. I would never have listened to Be-Bop-a-Lula or music hall or trance music like "Rushes" before starting to listen to Paul. I would have never appreciated the ballet, either. Thanks, Paul, for opening up my world a little wider than it was before I became a fan.
Having viewed a few of these, I can tell some of those climbing scales are missing from view here. lol You can't fool me Macca !! lol Good goings on though. Been checking into YT users "musanim" and "smalin" video collections. Huge fan of Bach's and Beethoven's.
Saw the inexhaustible Sir Paul at Yankee Stadium on July 16th, 2011 -- fantastic. Look forward to seeing & hearing the new Ocean's Kingdom in NY.
With Beatles in mind, I've posted the video, "40 years in 3 minutes", which is a music video containing the Beatles' rooftop performance, historical events over the last 40 years and 8mm film antics from the period, all cut tightly to GET BACK and GLASS ONION. Hope you enjoy!

Hey Paul, sounds great, I got on well. The style kinda had me thinking a bit of Gustav Holst. Digital readout music? :) Yep, I gotta Logic piano roll as well. Gotta use mine more often. Sticking with the ES24 for now. Imagine you're using Kontakt with something like Symphobia or LASS. Both are awesome. I know Danny Elfman uses LASS. Gotta admit on a note to note basis they really nailed that ensemble sound with their divisi.
I really like this snipit. A bit Elmer Bernstein and western sound. My underwater ballet from "Pearl and the Pumpkin" used lots of harp. Check out "Coral Caves".
Congratulations to Paul for the new project and wonderful music and to the team for who created the cover, and this effect lines in the video.
I got to face the music, guiding me through the lines, and that's amazing, it can be seen when the same passage is repeated and when the notes evolve, really enchanting.
The digital lights immediately caused the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind to pop inside my head. That's not a bad thing, since I felt the same sense of...wonder. The music is absolutely divine. All and all, I feel as though I've seen and heard something quite wonderful.
That's pretty cool, Paul. With your art school background, you're obviously also a very visual person. Do you see this sort of visualisation impacting the way you compose in the future?
@TaiwanPaul John was the one with the art school background. Paul is a self-taught painter, and a good one. There's a book with some of his canvases, they're very good.
Paul, you are such an inspirational musician and artists. I was able to follow the readout! Such a clever idea! I can't wait to here this in it's entirety.
I did click to watch the clip. I have to admit I was afraid because I really want to be surprised when I go to see the ballet in person on the 29th!!! I was able to follow along with the notes (the second time 'round). I think the cover design for the album is very creative.
If you use any music program, e.g. Cubase SX or Logic Pro. You can follow the digital music score via the Piano sequencer. I thought the use of it to build, what appeared to be the city skyline, was pretty cool.
Great stuff Paul. I could follow along with the notes. But are you going to be stealing John Williams' job and doing movie scores now? I half expect you to next decide to take up tennis and become the top tennis player in the world. It's not fair!
I know this is for a dance or play but I can't help but think of Paul singing over it like in "She's Leaving Home" on Sgt. Pepper. Although lyrics for this would be very difficult.
The digital readout looks like those punch-cards early computers used, to read off the binary coding. To be frank(as opposed to Derek), it is difficult to relate the digital symbols to the music playing. The music sounds lush and expressive, whereas the read-out is sterile and obscure-interesting though...
Really like this idea. I write this as if Paul will never see it but imagine if he did? I always found some of Paul's writings were as good classically as Beethoven or Bach (She's Leaving Home for an example).
Paul, I don't know what you are talking about. You can't read music so what's the point? Make some more mashed potatoes. They were good. Or a veggie lasagna. Upload that 2me. PS Sounds like Lawrence of Arabia.
