I know how to ride a horse, but to change leads in a race to me seems really hard to do.

Are the horses changing their leads themselfs, or does the 'pilot' do that? With their legs?

Do i sound stupid now?

Lady's Secret, spectacular! It was she moved into extra gear...because of changing the lead?

she was certainly fun to watch..prob. won over 3 million...i remember she had a few foals and died with the last one. But did any of the foals amount to anything? thanks for posting a beauty of a race filled with talent, of horses and riders. Dennis

SHE....WAS....MAGNIFICENT!!! Her father's daughter to the nth degree. What a race! And she was ran this after just recently winning her last race toting 129 lbs? Holy Moley!

CF - I was totally unprepared for the replay of the clip about the 1986 Santa Anita multiple-wreck. So hideous...I had to stop the video, and collect myself a bit before continuing. I wonder: was it was ever determined what might have caused Encolure's knee to snap like that?

@nameofthepen Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention that spill footage in the description. Not sure what caused Encolure to break down. I didn't realize it, but he was a son of the great Riva Ridge. Not many of his get were successful on the racetrack.
