The reason for that is because it's a lot easier to focus on something when you also have physical actions to go along with it. There's plenty of examples where the user is sitting still and thinking about it, but the focus on the action does improve if you have something to concentrate it on.

MSNBC picked a really bad example to go with their topic. All your movements are connected to electric signals into your muscles anyhow, so it's not like you're using a controller with the arms. :P

Combined with advanced virtual reality through EBOs a person would literally be able to experience flying. As in without being in a flying apparatus.
