@SuperKONR I broke them all (except for the Stingray lol). The Haro seems to last the longest., Its weak spot was the seat tube/top tube junction. The Hutch and the Thruster broke at the headtube. I have not broke the GTs but I dont jump anymore. That is what is hard on bikes
@gnarlyharley71 I know dude, I still watch it nearly everyday and its my video lol! Its the song, its one of my favortie 80s tunes and it fits the video perfectly!
I have thought of investing, yes, investing in a decent freestyle bike from the mid 80's. But I sometimes think, "At 36, I am just too old for that". Then here comes someone 9 year my senior doing some rad tricks on a GT performer, as seen in another video. Am I too old to say "rad"? Not this child of the 80's. By this summer, i will be riding again, oh yes, i will.
Where does the time go? I'm turning 40 soon and like you rode since the early stages. Great video and I hope you're still riding, but I'm pretty sure you would be because this BMX thing is hard to completely retire from.
Really nice edit !!! - I've never seen such an amazing vid just made out of pics. Also the music fits perfect. respect ! I do vid-cutting myself and I really enjoy a good edit.
Beside that: Nice riding
I'm also building up an old austrian bmx "KTM 1000" - unluckily I do not find anything about it on google and KTM did not answer my email, yet. :/
@zauche81 Thanks man but I cant take credit for the edit, only the song choice and the pics are mine! Another youtube user who I've never met made this for me! His name is Dustin Smith and he goes by Dpsmith here on youtube. But using this song for these pics is something that I've had planned for years!
Oh wow. That Miami Hopper is Amazing. I just started riding and love the "old tricks." Everyone is going brakeless and I want to add a back brake (already have a front brake) to try more hopping tricks. : )
What a great video! My time with BMX somewhat mirrors yours. I started riding in '78 and stopped in '87. I started with a Schwinn Stingray, then Mongoose Expert, '83 or '84 Haro Freestyler, '85 Haro Master. I still have my Haro Master and started riding a few years ago with my kids. This is so cool!
Great video Wes! It touched me ... gave me the shivers :D
In the last weeks I was interested in flatland and I'm watching lot of videos ... I never did this sport (long time ago I used to do motocross for fun with friends) and maybe I'm too old to start now (I'm 35) but I have half a mind to buy a bmw and try ^_^
@JoeFischietto Thank you Joe! I'm very happy with the video too, I've wanted to do a slideshow for a long time and use that song. I think it fits perfectly!
hmm seeing this makes me wish i could do old school bmx there doesn't see to be as much love in now

You're fortunate to have so many great pics of that time. I raced in 1980 it still gives pleasure to see pics of those classic bikes and tricks.
