Those fish were caught in the "wintering hole" on that lake, not on spawning beds. In the winter, they all pile into the deepest possible water. Once the water warms, they scatter across the shallow flats to set up spawning locations. On this day the water was 43 degrees, not even close to spawn time on this lake. They moved up on the beds in Late April-Early May 2006, 6 weeks after this video was shot. I also prefer not to target bass on the beds.
very cool and nice to know you dont go for bedding fish. you both seem like conscientious fishing people. CPR = catch photo and release or video tape ;o)
What did you fish with? And how slow were you fishing? Did the fish hit aggressively or did it feel more like tension on the other end? It would be helpful if you could answer. Thanks!
it might lol..i went fishing for little sunfish one day and had big bass grab the sunnies while i realing em in lol....but it pisses me off cuz they cant bite the hook like that so they just let go
thanks for the catch and release...way to preserve the lunker population!

I was using a bullet-weighted grub, swimming it with a quick retrieve and the fish were CRUSHING it, almost ripping the rod out of my hand.
