SMB2 is not a ripoff. DDP was originally a Mario game prototype before the Yume Kōjō were placed in. That's why DDP had the POW block and the Starman. Plus, Miyamoto spent more time working on DDP than he did on SMB2j. Plus, NCL promoted the Mario-DDP connection in Japan (Google "Yume Koujou / Doki Doki Panic Promotion" and read the only search result). Everyone who says SMB2 is a ripoff and isn't a real Mario game is highly uninformed and full of fail.

I don't think this is a speed run.

In a speed run, you dont pick up items if it has no reason (killing enemies, go faster, shortcut).

And it is way faster than this... I'm sorry

Does Toad run faster while holding an item? I was playing through Doki Doki Panic, and since you can't run in that I was surprised to find that the Papa character actually walked faster while holding something. It's been a while since I played the Mario version, but I'm 90% sure Toad never ran faster because I always held the button down.

This version of Super Mario is a "mod" of Doki-Doki Panic... they add the option to run, and change players between levels.

The "real" super mario 2, is a super mario 1 with changed maps (they add a bad shroom and wind in some stages).

You can see then in super mario all-stars for snes...

It's called toold assisted. The guy is good, but he can slow the speed of the game down to a crawl to do some of the more difficult maneuvers. For instance, maybe this actually took hours to do when we only see it at normal speed. Still a great feat! Yall should check out the Mega Man 2 speed runs and Mario 3. they were like the first viral speed runs.

The only version I have of SMB2 is Mario All Stars and I tell you: the first time I found out you could warp in SMB2 and the cool 'phase in/out' effect in the SNES- it made me feel awesome!
