It's too bad Ron Paul didn't make it. Ron Paul really was the best, he was a true conservative. But there is hope. Bob Barr, who was a big Ron Paul supporter, is now running as a libertarian. He's just like Ron Paul but he's got name recognition. he's got a chance to get on the news and in debates with McCain and Barack(most likely Barack).

My concern with popular support for individuals such as Sheehan is that these individuals know so little of the issue. I am certainly not a fan of the any war, but it is foolish to simplify things to staying or leaving. Is she aware of the Sunni Awakening Councils? Does she know that Moqtada al-Sadr extended the ceasefire for the Mahdi army? She is ignorant of the issues and has popular views on the matter and the result is dangerous. There can be no solution if you don't know the problems.

To be honest, I don't care so much about what she wants, rather, that she cares only about her feelings over the issue itself. Rather than pointing out facts, she points out emotions. She is angry her son died, and she should be, but most Iraqis agree that, while the occupation is wrong, that it is necessary until the government can truly stand on its feet. I believe the Iraqis know more about Iraq than she does. She is an agent of polarizing, not one of debate towards resolving the issue.

I see your point. However I see hers as well. At some point you have to say enough is enough. All this bullshit that has gone on with our country, our civil liberties, war profiteering, backdoor drafts, economic costs, its all SO terrible.

I really wish we could talk about Iraq in plain terms, but I dont think we know what is going on there. We dont really hear anything, for example I dont know the relationships between the government institutions, the militias, and the U.S. forces.

November 06 we elected individuals to stop the war. They funded it with billions of dollar in pork. Dems could have ended the war immediately(not sending a funding bill at all) but chose pork instead. How could she be worse than Pelosi?

As I stated, my concern is with the overwhelming pathos. People take a stance on Iraq based more on how they feel then how they think. You cannot imagine how many people feel strongly towards Iraq without knowing a thing about it's history, the history leading up to the war or even simple things like the difference between a Sunni and Shiite.
