@oogie11 Yeah you'd be too young to remember that one first hand:) When Globe of Frogs came out there was so much other noise (crap) on the airwaves that it shown like a beacon for those of us who took the time to seek it out. Here in Chicago we had (and still have) a good FM station (WXRT) that played Robyn and other great alternative rock. I think Balloon Man, Flesh Number One, and of course Devil Mask still hold up nicely!
This is how pop stars ought to look! Especially in terms of the cheeriness. Robyn Hitchcock is in a league of his own, to this day. Also, this so much outshines the album version that I'm sad not to own it in audio form.

This was a great single. I worked in a record store (hahaha remember those?) when this song came out and I played the heck out of the promo casssette the record company sent us. I was a huge fan of the Globe of Frogs album in 1988. What an under-rated songwriter!
@joshsaitz I was just sittin' here wondering what kind of idiot doesn't know what Perspex is. Thank you, I feel vindicated for thinking he's a douchebag too. :)
@achimendez maybe because Perspex is a British brand name for something called Plexiglas in the U.S. and is pretty much unknown there. Still, the guy could have read the cue card properly.
One of Robyn's more pop numbers, but still fun with his little weird spin on things. And the stupid haircut introduced him as "Robert Hitchcock". Funny, you don't look Zoroastrian.
I love this song, and these guys ROCK...Robyn and Egyptians, kick ass, these guys are serious. Are they coming back somedady ? please... vuelvan..por favor...
To his credit, Robyn doesn't mention the slight. About his music, he is one of those hardworking guys who is a great interpreter of others' music as well as an original in his own right. I have a lot of his solo live stuff and it's absolutely stunning. It ain't easy to get up there and play a song and get everyone's attention the way he does.
The announcer is possibly one of these poor sods that was churned through some God-awful radio broadcasting school and took everything they taught him to heart. He comes across as possibly not knowing a thing about Robyn, his band or his music. Nevertheless, " So You Think You're In Love " is one of the most perfect Pop songs ever. There is good Pop out there, you're just not hearing it. In a better world, it would have been a huge hit.
Yeah, "Robert." When will people get it through there thick skulls that Americans are always wrong? I'm an American, but not by choice. Europeans are simply better. They usually call someone by their correct name at least.
Well, I do know this. As the saying goes, "Might makes right." And we're the mightiest. So, that must mean we're the "rightiest." If we decide he's a Robert, then he's a Robert. Hole.
I am talking about is extra curicular activities. I know the guy personally and his chums and they are in trouble if they carry on the way they do.
Listen to his lyrics and you will find a scared snide who rents his and other peoples arse to the lizard. He is a fraud and theif of other peoples style and runs scared underground. When I catch up with him he will be sorry.
extraordinario robyn hitchcock, su capacidad de sonar tan parecido a lennon y los beatles y dylan pero sin embargo no molestar con ese parecido, sino sonar igual fresco y nuevo, solo los genios pueden hacer eso
very beatlesy but also one of his catchiest. i love it. very hard to come on cold like that in a tv studio and play with much vigor, but the ever-professional robyn pulls it off.
I thought the news guy was very nice. Why does he have to be all fuckin' "cool" and perfect? Is there something I missed in this video or are you so many spoiled twits that have never had a job? The guy did fine and Robyn was great, sheeeeeeeesh.
Host is a douche. RH is a great simple political musician with something to actually say/sing about.

@joshsaitz Hey man, chill out. Robyn would not approve of such rudeness. Don't make fun of people who don't see as clear as you.

Rocking, melancholic, hooks & bridges.
