  • Host is a douche. RH is a great simple political musician with something to actually say/sing about.

  • Great performance. Host is epic doofus.

  • An explosive duo would be Robyn Hitchcock with franck black ! what fantastic folk songs would they be create !!!

Bravo Robyn ,t'as la classe !

  • Why is this tagged as psych rock?

    Anyway. I love it.

  • how simple, how great!!!!!!

  • @oogie11 Yeah you'd be too young to remember that one first hand:) When Globe of Frogs came out there was so much other noise (crap) on the airwaves that it shown like a beacon for those of us who took the time to seek it out. Here in Chicago we had (and still have) a good FM station (WXRT) that played Robyn and other great alternative rock. I think Balloon Man, Flesh Number One, and of course Devil Mask still hold up nicely!

  • This is how pop stars ought to look! Especially in terms of the cheeriness. Robyn Hitchcock is in a league of his own, to this day. Also, this so much outshines the album version that I'm sad not to own it in audio form.

Has anyone got the guitar chords to this?

  • This was a great single. I worked in a record store (hahaha remember those?) when this song came out and I played the heck out of the promo casssette the record company sent us. I was a huge fan of the Globe of Frogs album in 1988. What an under-rated songwriter!

  • @bobrexy Oh, Globe Of Frogs was magic, my dad has rhe vinyl somewhere, it is such a good album :)

  • "Yes your probably are...not from me, what a relief ...because I am not ... from you"

  • Great sound for three acoustic instruments!

  • A ha ha! Robert! sheesh!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    robert hitchcock...

  • after many years this song sounds very fresh....i love it.......

  • Lol, good comments--that guy introdouching him is a total joke/clone. What a maroon. . . .

  • That host is such a tool, first he calls "Perspex" something like "Perspect" and then he calls Robyn "Robert Hitchcock." What a douchebag.

  • @joshsaitz I was just sittin' here wondering what kind of idiot doesn't know what Perspex is. Thank you, I feel vindicated for thinking he's a douchebag too. :)

  • @achimendez maybe because Perspex is a British brand name for something called Plexiglas in the U.S. and is pretty much unknown there. Still, the guy could have read the cue card properly.

  • @joshsaitz funny

  • @joshsaitz Hey man, chill out. Robyn would not approve of such rudeness. Don't make fun of people who don't see as clear as you.

  • @joshsaitz Or as clear as you presume to see. You cant be all bad if you're watching Robyn though.

  • One of Robyn's more pop numbers, but still fun with his little weird spin on things. And the stupid haircut introduced him as "Robert Hitchcock". Funny, you don't look Zoroastrian.

  • Suena como los beatles ..

  • the equivocas totalmente

  • Comment removed

  • Genio! Aguante Robyn!

  • Host is a total tool.

  • Where does he get his haircut, nobody knows . . .

  • Does anybody know the chords for this song?

  • is they really egyptians

  • lol

  • Is they really egytians? is they?

  • what you mean ?

    i dunno

    i don't care

    it just was a question

  • He's playing Austin with Leatherbag. It's gonna be great.

  • a great song. its funny how the news guy calls the album "PERSPECT island" when its actually "PERSPEX island"

  • I adore Robyn but you can tell he's feeling uptight in this clip. Still, love the song!

  • Robyn Hitchcock is playing in Austin Texas this month

  • I love this song, and these guys ROCK...Robyn and Egyptians, kick ass, these guys are serious. Are they coming back somedady ? please... vuelvan..por favor...

  • Robert Hitchcock?

    Perspect Island?

  • To his credit, Robyn doesn't mention the slight. About his music, he is one of those hardworking guys who is a great interpreter of others' music as well as an original in his own right. I have a lot of his solo live stuff and it's absolutely stunning. It ain't easy to get up there and play a song and get everyone's attention the way he does.

  • The Lyric of the Century..

    The Silent Majority......

    ..You Know It.

  • The announcer is possibly one of these poor sods that was churned through some God-awful radio broadcasting school and took everything they taught him to heart. He comes across as possibly not knowing a thing about Robyn, his band or his music. Nevertheless, " So You Think You're In Love " is one of the most perfect Pop songs ever. There is good Pop out there, you're just not hearing it. In a better world, it would have been a huge hit.

  • 2:06 is hilarious! what is he trying to do? hahaha

  • I think he was going for a big Rock Moment... doesn't work so well in an acoustic setting :-)

  • "Robert"... funny thing is that this host probably never thought we'd all be making fun of him some twenty years later. Ha-ha! Doofus.

Performance is a treasure. Thanks Robyn and Egyptians!

  • Yeah, "Robert." When will people get it through there thick skulls that Americans are always wrong? I'm an American, but not by choice. Europeans are simply better. They usually call someone by their correct name at least.

  • Well, I do know this. As the saying goes, "Might makes right." And we're the mightiest. So, that must mean we're the "rightiest." If we decide he's a Robert, then he's a Robert. Hole.

  • I still love this song

  • ROBERT hitchcock?

  • Well it's good to hear that there's one of you :) Yip Yip

  • I often dream of trains; trains running over cats.

  • RH, An English musical legend. Talented beyond an Americans comprehension.

  • i've been quite conscious of his talent for over 20 years mate. and i'm a bloody yank!

  • Robert Hitchcock and the Emissions..."So You Think You're Above".

    What a maroon.

  • It's from the new album "Perspect Island."

(We'll find out what a "perspect" in a few minutes!)

  • commentator. super knob.

  • "Robert Hitchcock"...LOL...what a knob

  • Does he say 'Robert Hitchcock' when he's introducing him?

  • I believe he does, yes.

  • What the hell are you talking about?

  • Uh... okay.... whatever.... Don't forget to take your pills.

  • Robyn Hitchcock

  • Great. Such a perfectly constructed pop song.

    Rocking, melancholic, hooks & bridges.

I always hoped Ray Davies and Robyn would do an Everly type thing together.

  • extraordinario robyn hitchcock, su capacidad de sonar tan parecido a lennon y los beatles y dylan pero sin embargo no molestar con ese parecido, sino sonar igual fresco y nuevo, solo los genios pueden hacer eso

  • hahah "perspect island", no wonder why they are laughing during the whole song

  • Do you think he ever heard the Beatle song "You can't do that"?? I love this guy! He is one of the good guys!!!

  • yeaaah i think so, es una gran cancion igualmente

  • Afraid not mate!

  • very beatlesy but also one of his catchiest. i love it. very hard to come on cold like that in a tv studio and play with much vigor, but the ever-professional robyn pulls it off.

  • one of the best songs ever written.

  • he also says 'perspect island.' i'm gonna guess the band wrote those names down for him

  • hey, isent that the british term for plastic???

  • jewel

  • "Robert"? Must be his brother. Nice vid and audio, all things considered.

  • nothing like a hit song!

  • I thought the news guy was very nice. Why does he have to be all fuckin' "cool" and perfect? Is there something I missed in this video or are you so many spoiled twits that have never had a job? The guy did fine and Robyn was great, sheeeeeeeesh.

  • Calidad interpretativa y ejecutante

  • una joya del moderno rock de fines de los 80s e inicios de los 90s

  • Andy Metcalfe might be my favorite bassist. The more I listin to that band the more he shines.

  • Absolutely! A classic bass player.

  • That host should get a beating.

  • somebody set the host afire lol...

  • Robert Hitchcock? What a 'tard. The host that is. I saw them on this tour, it was great.

  • Robert Hitchcock! I love them!

  • this is pretty funny!!

  • I want a Martin. No, I want a monkey. Wait, I need a Martin first.

  • the host of this show is a total tool, but it's fun to watch the guys play!
