(This is still Kaiser779, but on my sister's account) you know when you powerslide and get a boost out of it? its basically doing that over and over again to keep your speed up, if you do it on a straight you kinda move left and right a little, so it looks like a "snake" in a way. I can do it on mario kart ds easy, but I can't really on double dash too well.

It's a glitch because in theory Lakitu isn't supposed to drop you where he does. But it's also a shortcut because it's a path between two points that is faster than the commonly used paths. So it's a glitch which happens be be a shortcut at the same time. ;)
