Well according to Goro MIyazaki, for this film it's better good dub > sub because subtitle cannot capture the all essence of the speech

Let's hope that Goro's second film (his first being Tales From Earthsea which is the worst Studio Ghibli movie) makes up for it. It reminds me of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies, Only Yesterday and Whisper of the Heart.

As much as I'd love to see this come to the US, I honestly don't see it happening. Considering the incest subplot, however tasteful it may be, it seems pretty certain that Disney's going to go ahead and put this one on the shelf. It's a shame, really. I'd love to see more grounded films like this, Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves come to the US, but Disney seems to focus solely on Ghibli's fantasy films. Even Whisper of the Heart was only released because The Cat Returns sold well.
