Actually the whole movie isn't "wrong". There are some things which are incorrect, like the ending, which was much more involved and the way he escaped in the movie, never happened. Hi, I'm nearly finished the book and I found it one of the most interesting books I have ever read. I was confused by the ending of the film compared to what he said in an interview in 1999 about his escape. Would you ask him why he didn't object to the film script so people would mis-interpret it. Actually the whole movie isn't "wrong". There are some things which are incorrect, like the ending, which was much more involved and the way he escaped in the movie, never happened. I suggest to everyone to read the book, its actually very good and it tells the entire correct situation. However, it does not make you turks look ANY better than the movie.
