When social services re-homed me it took 3 years of counselling to get me "normal" again. I hate it when people who haven't been abused say they know how i feel because they don't! I was a victim of abuse, and my mom never liked me at all! She said i was a horrible, selfish, ungrateful child. She would go get drunk, leaving me with a boy who tried over and over to rape me. Then she would come home and beat me, slamming me into walls, slapping and hitting me, locking me up, force me to starve, and threatening she would do worse if i told. For 10 years that went on Im 13 and still hurt

Unfortunately child abuse goes from generation to generation unless we decide is time to brake the cycle and start all over for the benefit of the future generations, but it all starts with myself.
@Msbumbles04 I really don't think one generation breaking this cycle will result in eternal peace and safety for children everywhere. This (partially) is really the backfire of our species being only half-evolved, there's still a lot of subconscious phenomena at work every second, and psychology is only starting to scratch the beast on the back, still very far from taming it.

I don't get it. How can a person be so cruel to their child? How come there are people that can do this sort of thing and get away free? The death penalty only gives people freedom from pain. @moo14100 Mind you, death penalty (or any other "definitive" punishment) is great incentive for some child abusers to kill their victims so they won't speak. I can't quote statistics, but I believe some cases of sexual abuse + death would not happen if perps weren't fearing death penalty. Plain English - some kids would escape at least with their life (destroyed as it is).
I realize in another context I would fuck all this theory and go kill the scum myself. Hope I won't have to do it though.

Whoever made this is either a victim of child abuse or studied the subject . I didn't have a drunk father or mother out partying all night but the rest of it, the violence & emotional abuse every single day... the way this video reflects children's thoughts is EXACTLY what I thought. It was my fault, if I could just be good somehow, not have a tantrum at times, not cuss if I really hurt myself, then maybe I wouldn't deserve it all & the whole world might stop seeing B.A.D. stamped on my head.

I hate it when people who haven't been abused say they know how i feel because they don't! I was a victim of abuse, and my mom never liked me at all! She said i was a horrible, selfish, ungrateful child. She would go get drunk, leaving me with a boy who tried over and over to rape me. Then she would come home and beat me, slamming me into walls, slapping and hitting me, locking me up, force me to starve, and threatening she would do worse if i told. For 10 years that went on Im 13 and still hurt

It is not a disease, it is a choice-when one is abused growing up they come to a point of CHOICE-Will they become the victim again, taking that chance by turning away from it, or they will become a predator to protect themselves from further abuse-One who is abused growing up, is more prone to doing the same, but there are many who do not and still they have to deal with what they know-or reach way beyond that-All choices have consequences, CHOOSE WISELY-say no to the cycle of abuse! I was a badly abused child & my only problem as a parent is my daughter's a bit out of control because I'm afraid to discipline her in case it causes her mental or physical damage. I have no intention of ever abusing her! I've had to have counselling to enforce boundaries on her. Even the recommended strategies of a 'time out' room scare me, bc my foster Mum just wanted me out of her sight so much she beat me mostly as an excuse to keep me shut me in a room for hours

I mean when i was a baby & i did wrong, it was soft little slaps on my hand and they said "no, no" as got older, it was no TV for a month, and I wasn't allowed outside to play. This (partially) is really the backfire of our species being only half-evolved, there's still a lot of subconscious phenomena at work every second, and psychology is only starting to scratch the beast on the back, still very far from taming it.
Looks like every generation would need to keep breaking this cycle.
And I wish I could believe that is possible.

@moo14100 Mind you, death penalty (or any other "definitive" punishment) is great incentive for some child abusers to kill their victims so they won't speak. I can't quote statistics, but I believe some cases of sexual abuse + death would not happen if perps weren't fearing death penalty. Plain English - some kids would escape at least with their life (destroyed as it is).
I realize in another context I would fuck all this theory and go kill the scum myself. Hope I won't have to do it though.
