@Cypher2Kill Right there, he does a pinch harmonic. It increases the pitch of the note quite a bit. Try choking your pick off when you play, and when you want to pull one off, use your thumb to catch the string almost immediately after picking the note. That will cancel out the loudest frequency of the note and let out a loud squeal instead. Try looking for some video instructions on youtube, it's kind of hard to explain in a paragraph.

To get a "high sound" is called an artificial harmonic. Look up tutorials for pinch harmonics on youtube and you'll be learning them in no time!

I would buy a Prophecy model if they had seperate tone/volume controls. I'm not a fan of the master tone/vol, and I think it's pointless to take out key features on a better model.

@Walcha666 as much as i have to disagree with LP's sucking ass. I do also LOVE ibanez , they just fit perfectly and work well with anything you throw at em, i got an ibanez RGR320EX and an IC200.

I had enough money to buy this guitar, I much rather go and buy a low end gibson. not saying this is a bad guitar, its just that the tone would be much better.

imho, im not offending gibby, but they are just a little bit over-priced

this guitar has got the Dirty Fingers on them and they sound as good as a gibson.

what's more, you got the coil tap function !!

these make the gx so versitile that it can overcome any gene

If you want more versatility than this offers and you have your heart set on a Gibson, I would go with a Studio. Extremely versatile if you have the settings and setup capabilities for it.

The video on the Gibson site is accurate. At one of their demo's, the guitarist played the exact same lines as in the video through a $500 Vox and got incredible range.

Its weird cause i just put EMGS 81 85 In my jackson kelli there nice but nothing special i got a gibson les paul and i just prefer the sound of passive pickups so mcuh more so if your deciding to go between the GX or the EX go for the GX without a doubt

I bought the gx and I also already had the SG ex so I just switched the dirty fingers out of the les paul gx and put in the emg's from my SG ex and wow what an amazing sound!!

@arthatis, Ive had both of them and its a blue one its a bit dark but its definantly not black, much easier to see in person than in picture but thats the one with emgs. The red one has the dirty finger pickups, I didnt like that one nearly as much and got rid of it in a few days.
