  • BRILLANT -VANGELIS

    EXTREMELY TALENTED!!!

    pmajudge

  • what kind of man that is mentioned in bible , Qur'an and Old testament ??? So God remembers and wants you to remember that man...!!!

  • @anasalwash

he wasn't mentioned in the Qura'an

besides , if you read his history , he is a fucking criminal , making a movie about him dosen't make hima hero !!!!

  • @unknown0707 actually,he was , but referred to as "the man with two horns" and by watching the movie it may mean the 2 feathers on his helmet ... and you know the history , making the "mass murderers" heroes.

  • @anasalwash

absolutely not , " the man with two horns " is not alexander , this is a big wrong information even in islamic world

the man with two horns is just another prohpet according to islamic explanations if the Quran since 1400 years ago

  • @unknown0707

it is actually confusing , but people asked Mohammad "who is the man of 2 horns?" he said "A man called Alexander" and that solved the confusion "4 us" long time ago.

I know exactly what you mean cos I was confused my self when I first read it in Qur'an , 1st talking about Alexander then mixed with profit David that was called "Taloot" who killed "Jaloot" or something. The Qur'an language is so difficult sometimes.it depends on the source and thanx sharing infos.

  • simple MACEDONIA to MACEDONIANS, Aleksandar was a true leader and he will be always our pride and one more thing MACEDONIA may be a small country but we are the people with the biggest hearts! DA ŽIVEEEEE MAKEDONIJA!!!

  • @24spartakus Alexanders nationality was macedonian but his ethnicity was greek. It's the ethnicity that matters not the nationality, so he was greek not macedonian.

  • @Gash1234 you are a fool if you think that, he is MACEDONIAN, he is the reason why we macedonians actually exist.

  • @24spartakus You call me a fool when you didn't even understand what I just said? What a joke you are.

  • @Gash1234 i did understand you but Greece has nothing to do with Macedonia, you can call me a joke but you dont understand cuz you are not macedonian either greek so you cant speak anything about m

  • @24spartakus No, you did not understand what i was talking about cause i clearly said that his NATIONALITY (which country he belonged to)was macedonian but his ETHNICITY was greek(which ethnic group he belonged to for example slavs, germans, scandinavians, japanese are ethnic groups). So the thing is that the ethnicity matters not where he was from, therefore he was greek not macedonian.

  • @Gash1234 hmmm yes thats the problem, his ETHNICITY wasnt greek, he was raised as a greek, but that is a different story, macedonians =/= greeks, we are differend kind then greeks as was Aleksandar. But you have your own opinion what he was so i dont expect you to exept my words, but anyways i didnt mean to insult you so i apologize if i did. Peace

  • @24spartakus Alexander the Great is Greek. He spoke Greek.

  • @jayjay042298456 Alexander is a Macedonian with a Greek Culture ;)

  • @anakin49170 Macedonians are northern Greek tribes. Which means Alexander is Greek, not Slav.

  • @24spartakus The name Alexander is derived from the Greek "Αλέξανδρος" (Aléxandros), meaning "defending men" or "protector of men", a compound of the verb "ἀλέξω" (alexō), "to ward off, to avert, to defend" and the noun "ἀνδρός" (andros), genitive of "ἀνήρ" (anēr), "man". It is an example of the widespread motif of Greek (or Indo-European more generally) names expressing "battle-prowess", in this case the ability to withstand or push back an enemy battle line.

  • @jayjay042298456 -.- are you kidding me, at that time Greece was the most developed country so everyone wanted to be like them so they even named cities and stuff like them, and if he was greek he would be Aleksandar the Greek, not Aleksandar the Macedonian. Period

  • @24spartakus except,he wasnt SLAVIC MACEDONIAN,but Greek!!I dont wish you death,or any harm, but macedonia is greece, and Alexander fought FOR GLORYYYYYYYYYY AND FREEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOM OF GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lodhol no he wasnt slav, but neither greek he was an Ancient Macedonian as we Macedonians are, no disrespect for Greece though

  • @24spartakus *facepalm* are you fucking stupid he is greek. not a slav macedonian.

  • @jayjay042298456 i never said he was a slav, he was an ANCIENT MACEDONIAN, learn history man

  • @24spartakus Ancient Macedonian... One of Northern Greek Tribes.

  • @jayjay042298456 wrong... and btw your country is falling appart so stfu

  • @24spartakus UMAD BRO? Fucking Slav.

  • @24spartakus travelpage(dot)gr/UserFiles/Image/2011/macedonia(dot)gif

  • @24spartakus That is just like Athenians werent Greeks, but ATHENIANS,or Spartans,or Corinthians,or Thebans...He was greek, and he fought for Greece, and it was called HELLENIC GOLDEN AGE,not FYROM Golden age.To say he was MACEDONIAN in a way from fyrom is just like to say Ceaser was Italian, when he was Roman,or Latin! You came to balcans in 6th century and 1300 years later you claimed him to be yours, its stupid, only FYROMS thinks he was Macedonian not Greek...

  • @lodhol im not gonna argue with you cuz it dont have any sense, i wish you a happy life, bye

  • Please people, for once i would love to see decent comments and respect! So shut the fuck up and just listen! We dont need history lessons or insults!

  • Beautiful! Just beautiful!

  • Vangelis, I enjoy this!

  • Greece have many statues of Alexander...and my opinion is....The skopians after 90 years in balkans they think one day, ohhhh i am macedoniac!!!After 90 years!!!!!!!!And 'propaganda' of greece was for 2500 years????Before 2500 years scopia was in my bulls!!!!!!!!!!!!And u dont have any evidence for macedonia is there!!!!!!

  • The Greeks and Macedonians fellows

  • @Dmitrishak Greeks are not friends with liars and history thieves..

  • @ThePromytheus Gayreece are friends only with BANCROCY coutries its simple

  • ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΙΑ ΣΗΜΑΙΝΕΙ ΕΛΛΑΔΑ ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • Grande!

  • The movie could have been great but the arrogant director insisted on make a gay romantic movie instead the historic epic which Alexander deserved, damn, liberals always ruin the fun...and before somebody flame my ass I make clear my respect for the homosexual people, hell, I even think the should be able to adopt or have civil unions equal to the marriage but the movie was totally wrecked by so much gay drama, Alexander was a warrior who occasionally did both ways, no a spoiled sissy.

  • @AkiraBrahe Alexander was bisexual, his relationship with Hephaestion played a big part in his life and the movie was about his life. The movie was good and you're a homophobic biggot. As far as being a "spoiled sissy" you have no idea what he was like, nobody truly does, he could have been a raging pussy that hated the idea of war and you couldn't say any different without conclusive proof.

  • @Plecebo1996 The bigotry card works no more, insulting somebody to dismiss his opinion is politically correct bullshit which shows what you intellectual stature is (no good), even Hollywood critics notoriously liberal as well as most serious historians agreed, the movie was shit....a movie about homosexuality can be good, "Broken back Mountain" was great, this Alexander travesty was very bad..and about your stupid comment of "he could have been a raging pussy", go read a book, ask a Macedonian

  • @AkiraBrahe You don't understand the difference between an opinion and fact. It is your opinion that the movie wasn't good, it is also your opinion that Alexander was a brave hero, something that has been dismissed by credible scholars. If you did your research you would know the majority of info regarding Alexander is written by himself and accordingly is highly embellished, due to this nothing regarding him can truly be trusted. You don't truly know anything about him, nor do I.

  • @Plecebo1996 Since you this time commented without insults and were civil enough I will answer you again, politely. No, the Alexander bravery and military competence is a known fact, no an opinion. No, I did´nt said it was a hero, he was a drunk tyrant which is a bad thing, but was an extremely courageous and competent tyrant. Yes, some Alexander records were embellished by him but many more were written after his death, so is no my opinion but matter of historical record...

  • ....of course some historical records can be unreliable but when you say "you don´t truly know anything..." you are dismissing the very essence of the historians works, under that mentality you will reduce the entire human history to a matter of subjective appreciations which is not the case, Alexander conquered most of the known world at the time and died covered of scars, not a single one on his back. so saying "maybe he was a pussy" is, with all due respect, foolish revisionism....

  • Finally about the movie being a piece of crap, well, that is an opinion, which was, by the way, shared by many individual who had dedicated their entire live to studying the movie industry, that fact doesn´t made them always right but you have to at least give some consideration to their critics. I think the movie was ruined by the known liberal activism of his director, that was also an opinion... based on facts, you of course can disagree, as long as you avoid insulting me is fine :).

  • @Plecebo1996 i don't think AkiraBrahe was being overly bigoted with being critical over the Alexander/Hephaestion romance, the director did make it horribly cliched and the dialogue between the two was "stabbing your ear drums with a pen" terrible, but personally i didn't like the film cause it spent so much time on the "tragic" and not enough on the "hero" that it made him seem a little pathetic by the end..

  • The Greeks are called him a barbarian. They hate him because he conquered him.Salut for the biggest Maecedonian King.

  • @parmenionmkd yeah we hate him thats why we are saying he is greek.. it makes perfect sense... congratulations monkeydonian

  • @Mrhamenokormi You said hes greek because you are fucking retard you egyptian asshole,he conquered you and you celebrate him,its the same like now israelian people to celebrate Hitler!YOU STUPID FUCK!

  • @parmenionmkd "Holy shadows of the dead,I’m not to blame for your cruel and bitter fate, but the accursed rivalry which brought sister nations and brother people, to fight one another.I do not feel happy for this victory of mine.On the contrary,I would be glad, brothers, if I had all of you standing here next to me, since we are united by the same language, the same blood and the same visions."

Addressing the dead Hellenes (the Athenean and Thebean Greeks) alexander's quote at wikiquote

  • @parmenionmkd "Above all, we are free men, and they are slaves. There are Greek troops, to be sure, in Persian service — but how different is their cause from ours! They will be fighting for pay — and not much of at that; we, on the contrary, shall fight for Greece, and our hearts will be in it." Addressing his troops prior to the Battle of Issus

so not only he was greek but he fought about greece... if you want, you can find this quote at wikiquote... do you have any poofs he wasn't greek???

  • agree with blad771 alexander belong to global history not to some nation btw i'm greek and i'm tired of the retards that get happy when they say we have the ancient greek spirit on our blood and blablabla... what do u do u fucking retard to continue their civiliazation that they left behind to whole world and not you

  • @mu3rt000 agree mate

  • Wonderful soundtrack!

  • Alexander belongs to History of Macedonia and Greece... It is the same thing..

People of FYROM are neighbors but they are remain to be Slavs-Albanians-Bulgarians , Gypsies .. no mean to insult you but this is the facts.. if you want be Macedonians you must right Greek and speak like us.. it is so simply... Alexander the Great did not speak Roma(Gypsies)

  • What what Failure, ALEXANDER A GREAT FILM,BOTH VERSIONS

  • They didn't know it was impossible...so they did it!

ALL HAIL TO ALEXANDER THE GREAT !

  • Alexander wanted a mixture of races ... impossible, it still is today, I am myself cons ^ ^

  • We will look forward a new Alexander the Great, the bravest commander, the greatest Leader of the Mankind!

"Not even to me it seems possible that without divine intervention he turned out to be similar to no other human being" .

  • @WHL2012AD

Just about 5 years to go. Have patience.

He will unify the planet, not just the Balkans.

  • @shockolanu

5 years is unlikely. And having a single leader of mankind is an unstable and undesirable position to be in, I would say. Democracy FTW. I look forward to a federal European Union in the next 50 or so years, then a united (or mostly-united, anyway) species within the next few centuries. I expect to live to see a united Europe which truly encompasses all of Europe expect maybe Switzerland, possibly a united North America and even parts of Africa (certainly the southern countries).

  • @nashertheatheist

I believe you do not know the real story of Alexander the Great.

I have been in contact with people from Epsilon Team. At first I thought they are crazy, after that they helped me to understand who and why sent him here.

The European Union is collapsing, I don't think it has a bright future. It is a Union based on money and on economics, not on brotherhood. It has been deemed a failure from the start.

The hardest job will be with the Arab countries, but is not impossible.

  • @shockolanu

I'd never even heard of this "Epsilon Team" before. Google yields this:

"The Epsilon Team is a persistent rumor concerning a secret society consisting of an elite team of Greek engineers, academics, pilots, powerful businesspeople and politicians etc. manufacturing and piloting UFOs and supposedly working for major international forces or even secretly ruling the United States of America. "

Is this what you meant? If so, I'm afraid it sounds like insane fantasy.

  • @nashertheatheist

Actually, this is what the rumours say about that team. In fact, it is an ancient society based on knowledge that is being passed in the genetic memory. The knowledge I speak of is the knowledge that was stolen by the Romans from Alexandria and taken in Rome (Vatican).

Indeed, it sounds very crazy, that is what I said when I first heard people speaking about that. The first time I heard it was from a serious person who is a successful businessman. I don't think he was joking.

  • @shockolanu

Mate, as a biology student, I can tell you there is no such thing as a genetic memory in that sense. The closest real-world examples to a genetic memory are our instinctive fear of loud noises, the dark, fire and animals with too many legs, large teeth, horns, scaly skin etc. We have evolution to thank for those.

Specific experiences are *never* inherited. That is a fact, I'm afraid.

  • @nashertheatheist

You can be a biology teacher, I can tell you with certainty that science is at least 500-1000 years behind. Just because you don't know something exists, doesn't make it non-existent. Besides, you should look more to the psychological side.

We have evolution to thank for many things, including the ancestral memory and collective consciousness.

Not all humans have this capacity. In the ones whom have it, it's been found that hypnosis can help them "remember" experiences.

  • @shockolanu

It's not that we don't know it exists. It's that we unequivocally know it does not.

We can look at the DNA of parents and children. We can show beyond any possible doubt that the differences there are (usually about 200-2000 per generation) are caused by mutations and that in most cases they only affect DNA which doesn't even get transcripted into proteins (which is all DNA is ever used for). This has been done extensively over the past 2-3 decades.

  • @nashertheatheist

Refer to Carl Jung and other scientists whom proposed and supported this idea.

Also visit wisconsinmedicalsociety website, they have a section about this.

I am not discussing the mutations that occur because of the environment. You cannot claim that you have completely understood the DNA and it's chain, because it would be a lie. Even today we find genes that we did not know about 1 year ago, so spare me the all knowing attitude. This only helps to prevent further discoveries.

  • @shockolanu

    (1) We are constantly discovering what genes actually do. But all the genes that there are (bar perhaps a few VERY rare ones found in isolated populations like in Papua New Guinea or Micronesia) have in fact been mapped by the human genome project. We know which ones do nothing, and we know what proteins are coded by the ones that do function. We don't know what some of those proteins do, though. That is what is constantly being discovered at the cutting edge of genetics.

  • @nashertheatheist

    (1) nothing does nothing. If they have no use, they should not exist to begin with.

    (2) I am referring to the collective consciousness (not un) and to the Ancestral Memory that is present among some people. I do not have that and I cannot say that I have studied it. None the less, I have heard many explanations on the subject and I am convinced it exists in certain humans and many species. Ex: A cat will always meow, even if taken from it's mother after birth. Same for a dog.

  • @shockolanu

For the most part, junk DNA is left over from infection by retroviruses. HIV is an example, but most are not as harmful or even harmless. They inject DNA into the host cell. If an egg or sperm is infected the junk DNA is passed down to the next generation

Collective consciousness: I have sent you a PM with a link to an article on the subject by Chicago University explaining what Jung actually said, rather than some daft internet or anecdotal source.

Cats could not make other noises.

  • @nashertheatheist

I still support the idea that most of the genes in the DNA and their purposes, have not been fully understood by genetics. Just the other day I read that the ageing gene has been discovered last year, so we still have more to discover.

Thanks for the links in the pm. I will read those articles later.

Cats or dogs can't make other noises, exactly my point. There is information coded in the DNA and can be passed down. It wasn't a parallel, it was an example.

  • @shockolanu

    (1) You are quite right that we do not understand many of our genes. But if there is such a thing as genetic memory that is passed on down the generations, one would expect to see the genes in a person's sex cells (gametes) change markedly during their lifetime. We would expect to see the same change across all their gametes, so that it can be differentiated from mutations.

You see, the existence of a genetic memory is a very specific claim that can be tested by geneticists.

  • @shockolanu

    (2) On the cats again: they can't make other noises because it is "programmed" into them in the same way that crying at loud noises, hunger and discomfort is "programmed" into babies. The baby does not cry because of a genetic memory, but because it is evolved to make a noise that attracts attention and makes adult humans want to care for the baby. In addition to that, the cat's vocal chords are highly limited compared to a humans. They are limited to a very few sounds.

  • @nashertheatheist

I've had many cats and they all meow and act the same way when they are hungry. Just like the baby.

What if there can be other things that can be pre-programmed? What can we call those evolution traits that help the baby make that noise? It is a form of "memory" and it's passed down through genes.

I read the article you sent me. It is just a synthesis of what others wrote and it was written by a young lady when she was a kid (2008). Darold Treffert is much more credible...

  • @shockolanu

Calling it a "memory" is pushing it, I would say. "Instinct" is a better way to put it. Evolution puts those responses in both animals. A baby that is quiet is more likely to be neglected by its parents and so die or be weak. A cat that makes sounds other cats cannot understand will be shunned or get into too many fights. An adult human that doesn't fear large teeth will be eaten.

I'll look into this Treffert guy. So far, though, I've only come across his work on savant syndrome.

  • @nashertheatheist

I consider instinct to be part of that memory, along with unconditional reflexes such as breathing.

Everything that you've mentioned here is instinct. I consider instinct to be a primitive form of thinking.

Why would a human fear large teeth if he never saw large teeth before? It must be a form of memory, since deep in his mind, he knows he'll be eaten if he doesn't run. Maybe this is due to the fact that his ancestors were eaten by large teeth and later they started to run...

  • @shockolanu

That's exactly why it is. The ones who didn't run got killed-or were more likely to be, at any rate.

But I maintain that knowledge of a secret society (that may or may not build UFOs and desire a dictatorship over all humanity etc) is not something that could be instinctively stored in this way. Apart from anything else, unless it has been around since before there were humans, evolution could not have "implanted" the "memories" into our DNA.

  • @shockolanu

    (2) I am aware of Carl Jung's hypotheses. First, I would note that he is no more an authority for modern psychologists than Darwin is to evolutionary biologists. I take it you are specifically referring to what he called the "collective unconsciousness". All too often, his use of words has been misinterpreted and abused. What he wrote was that we share unconscious predispositions on the species level, such as the examples I provided about an hour ago.

  • Instead of hailing Alexander as a great leader quibble over his nationality. We humans have been on earth how long? Every person is a mutt. Nobody is a pure anything. The egytians tried to keep their blood"pure" by the pharohs wedding daughter as secondary wives. That didnt work too well for them. Alexander the great was a great man period..

  • "jo jeeta wohi sikander" - who ever wins is the alexander

    - still a popular saying in hindi, 2300 years after he invaded india

  • @tjohn1986 Yeah, that's very cool.

  • I think the movie was great. You guys are forgetting that Alexander had many weaknesses and Oliver portrayed that. He also managed to portray a human being like any of us but a great one. I hope you guys realize that alot of history is made up false stories so that it sounds better and you guys are falling for it. Alexander probably dropped his sword. It never said that he didn't.

aside from that Alexander has been my idol for quite sometime now and I don't regret seeing this movie.

  • Alexander belongs to the world, not to Macedonia or Greece! If you go deeper in this issue, you would see that none of us is 100% right, it's the reality!

Greetings from the Rep. of Macedonia to our Greek friends! :)

  • @Blad771 So he does belong to the world..Nobody denied it..But he is Έλληνας Αλέξανδρος

  • @Blad771 Alexander showed himself, that God still comes to earth in human form

  • @Blad771 The truth is one..every ancient historian admits that Alexander the great was greek and macedonia was greek.. • SÓ PARA LÍDERES E CAMPEÕES, FANTÁSTICA!

  • epic film, epic movie

  • So so film with an epic film score should have focused equally on Alexander's military campaign and his private life. He died when he was 33 years old, having

conquered the known world. He lived in the saddle, and was focused on forging an empire. He didn't joyride across the near/middle East, or take a day trip to India.

  • Maravilhoso.

  • I think people are sad because they were expecting the military perspective of Alexander's life. In fact, i think, the movie is more focused in the private life of Alexander. I find the movie fantastic.

  • In spite of reflection of some distorted facts in the film, it stills inspires me with clear description of Alexander's character - Alexander was also a human being, being a great leader and warrior, he also had moments of hesitations, as well as stereotypical attitudes of that period. But let's admit a mere thing - he has been one of few who changed the world so utterly at so young age. He was a revolutioner of his time and he was just a great personality.

  • It brings tears to my eyes that people disliked this movie about a man that at so young an age had done, and shared, so much not only for his own people, but also for humanity as a whole. Darn Liberals and their distorted view of history!!!

  • @atcnavy34 So your argument is basically null then you go on a tangent about liberals? Disliking a movie is not even close to disliking a person from antiquity. Try typing without watching Fox, at the same time.

  • Excellent.

  • lol this fight about alexander and slavs is on all of the alexander movies lol !

  • As far my university education allows me to recall , Alexander did indeed what he did for the glory of Greece against Persia.

Not for the glory of Yugoslavia, or Nigeria or Japan or whoever wants to be Greek.

i Makedonia ine eliniki ke pada tha ine.

    ego filelinas apo norvegia

  • @DuvalNorway

    excellent comment!

  • The greatest of all.

  • this is one of the best versions

  • Excellent.

  • "Such a great song, and Tribute to Alexander."

  • Alexander is my idol...He is not the Great :He is the GREATEST!

  • Good film, it was like watching the ancient greece of Alexander come back to life! :)

  • Encyclopedia BRITANNICA :

"In 346, the Athenian publicist Isocrates was inviting Philip to reconcile the four leading cities of Greece and to lead a united Greek alliance in a war of expansion against Persia. A step in this direction was Philips intervention now to end the Sacred War..."

  • Macedonians are Dorians Encyclopedia Britannica

Dorians any member of a major division of the ancient Greek people, distinguished by a well-marked dialect and by their subdivision, within all their communities, into the "tribes" (phylai) of Hylleis, Pamphyloi, and Dymanes. The Dorian people are traditionally acknowledged as the conquerors of the Peloponnese (in the period 1100--1000 bc).

  • @lekos28 some scholars think there were two types of macedonian. The dorian city and town dwellers. And illyrian tribes men who were conquered and made subjects of the Macedonian king.

  • @BVargas78

The name of the ancient Macedonians is derived from Macedon, who was the grandchild of Deukalion, the father of all Greeks. This we mayinfer from Hesiods genealogy. It may be proven that Macedonians spoke Greek since Macedon, the ancestor of Macedonians, was a brother of Magnes, the ancestor of Thessalians, who spoke Greek.

    Nicholas Hammond

  • @lekos28 While a lot of the Myths have some grains of truth i wouldnt put total faith in it either.

That said, i've no doubt that most Macedonians were greek, but that some illyrians were assimilated as well.

  • Encyclopedia Britannica : Macedonia is considered the birthplace of the Greek race and of the twelve Greek gods. Ancient Traditions about the First Argaead King As the first written record of the Greek legend about the Macedonian Argaeads we may regard Aeschylus' lines in the play The Suppliants, where the poet introduces Pelasgus, king of Argos, common ancestor of the Doric branch of Greeks, boasting that his race rules as far as the pure waters of the Strymon.

  • the age-long legend handed down by the Greeks from prehistorical times, Aeschylus indirectly proclaims the descent of the Macedonians from the Doric branch and directly tells us about their origin from the Argive Heracleids, as those who ruled the land of the Perrhaibians,;beyond Pindus, near the Paeonians,in the Dodona mountains and all the territory through which the pure Strymon flows.

And Macedonia, of course, is a part of Greece. (Strab. VII, Frg. 9 [Loeb, H.L. Jones]).

  • Makednos was, according to Hesiod, brother of Thessalian Magnes and cousin of Boeotian/Epirotan Graecus. His mother Thyia was the daughter of the Greek progenitors Deucalion and Pyrrha and sister of Hellen, who together with his three sons Dorus, Xuthus (with his sons Ion and Achaeus) and Aeolos, comprised the set of the basic 7 ancient tribes that formed the Hellenic nation. The above genealogy is also quoted by the Macedonian historian Marsyas of Pella.

  • Graecus or Græcus (Ancient Greek: Γραικός) was, according to Hesiod's "Eoiae" (Greek: Ηοίαι) or Catalogue of Women on the origin of the Greeks, the son of Pandora II and Zeus. His mother Pandora II (named after her grandmother Pandora) was the daughter of Deucalion and Pyrrha and sister of Hellen who together with his three sons Dorus, Xuthus (with his sons Ion and Achaeus) and Aeolos, comprised the set of ancient tribes that formed the Greek/Hellenic nation.

  • In Herodotus (Book 9, paragraph 45.2) Alexander I , king of Macedonia says:

"... I myself am by ancient descent a Greek, and I would not willingly see Hellas change her freedom for slavery ..."

  • all know that HELLASS was and is only ATHENES no more ..... AGAMENNON reunified hellenic tribe but he didnt speack about MACEDONIA ...

  • @VardarPirinEgej That's because Macedonia didn't exist during Agammemnon's time dumbass.

  • @Alexandros1294 WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT ??????? WHAT ???? are you ok ??? ok i understand you take some drugs . aha yeah . MACEDONIA DINT EXIST WHEN AGAMENNON FIGHT AGAINST TROY ... muahahhahahaahaha you stupid dumbass

  • @VardarPirinEgej Of course the land was still there... but it wasn't called Macedonia then... Macedonia wasn't formed as a kingdom until after the Trojan War. No, I'm not on drugs. You're the dumbass... not me. Sort of like how Rome wasn't around during the Trojan War either.

  • @VardarPirinEgej In fact, Macedonia wasn't formed as a state until maybe 900 or 800 BC... the Trojan War took place circa 1200 BC.

  • I thought it was a great movie. And the soundtrack is amazing.

  • hahaha he was alexander of macedon ... of MACEDON NOT HELLENIC

  • @VardarPirinEgej yea but also he does have greek in him from his mother side

  • @BoricuaAlex him mother was from EPIRUS ... and EPIRUS IS ANOTHER LAND CONQUERED FROM GAYREEK PROPAGANDA WITH WEAPON IN THE 2 BALKAN WAR ... BUT HAVE YOU EVER SEEN GREEK ORIGINAL MAP BEFORE 1832 .... IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE ALL GREEK LIE BECOME IN 1832 ...

  • @VardarPirinEgej interesting.....this topic has been debated for a long time now and i have read some nice point of views...but alexander is a descent from achilles (who is greek) from his mother side, in which her father was part of the molossians (greek tribe).......there's a lot of great history man

  • @BoricuaAlex Macedonia was a Hellenistic Kingdom. Hellenistic is the term used for people who are only part ethnically Greek but take Greek culture and use it. That's how the Macedonians were. They spoke a rough form of Doric Greek. There was some mixture of the Illyrian language in it too. They also participated in the Olympic Games, which was something only Greeks could do, but Macedonians had to prove their Greek descent first.

  • they lie about our colour ... they say that macedonian colour is BLUE ahahahahha what the fuck they want to say also for conquer with lie another country ... bastard dumbass of gayreek ... they have as first king KING OTTO FROM BAVARIA german king and when he came in ATHINA they saw only albanians not ANCIENT GREEK OR ELSE...

  • @BoricuaAlex

Actually both his parents were Greeks. Alexander was proud for his Greek descent and relation to Heracles through his father and to Achilles through his mother. Ancient Macedonians were Greeks not Slavs like the FYROMians!

  • @VardarPirinEgej yes...and in the movie Alexander says....for freedom...and glory...and Greece, neither Skopje nor Macedonia

  • @Harry13ification ahhahaah then you want to say that he was only GREEK aahhahahah crazy bastard dog ... how many shit you eat every day MACEDONIA MAKEDONIA ONLY ONE AND FOR MACEDONIANS ALEXANDER OF MACEDON WHAT THE FUCK OF GAYREEK ... OLIVER STONE CAN EAT MY ASS... GO AND LEARN BIBLE WHEN ONE MACEDONIAN SPOKE TO PAOLO

  • @VardarPirinEgej Did i speak bad to you?? Did i call you crazy bastard dog?? from that i can understand your civilization. I know that you steal a country's history because a country cannot exist unless it have a long and important history. And it's understandable because F.Y.R.O.M have not great history and you want to exist. But i think that everyone knows the truth but when it's about economy, we forget history. And the other time speak better because you demote the discussion's level

  • @Harry13ification you are the same as all GREEK ---- and GREEK IS NAZIST .... THE GREATEST BASTARD IN THIS WORLD ...., YOUR COUNTRY HAS HISTORY FROM 1832 ... is ok this ??

  • @VardarPirinEgej no...because it's a lie. Have you ever heard about Ancient Greece? Ancient Athens? The place where democracy and all of the arts and scients was born? Have you ever heard which is the first civilization in Europe? If you want to support your ideas...you have to have knowledge about history! And that's what fyrom's nation have not...

  • @Harry13ification what ancient GREECE ???? there is only ATHENES THESSALY AND OTHER CITY STATE BUT MACEDONIA WAS NOT A CITY STATE ...

  • @VardarPirinEgej Ancient Greece is the collective term of Thessaly, Athens, Sparta, the other city-states, Epirus, and yes, Macedonia. Macedonia was a Kingdom. Thessaly and Epirus were too... still Greek.

  • @VardarPirinEgej Nazi Greeks? Greeks fought stoutly against Hitler in the Battle of Greece. In fact, the people in your region (then called Bulgaria) welcomed Hitler and let him walk right in. Sounds like you're being a little hypocritical.

  • @VardarPirinEgej Macedonia is a Hellenistic Kingdom you dipshit lol.
