Though the other female host has less of a Japanese accent when speaking English, I still like Hiroko better. She brings more life and fun to learning, to me anyway :)
i already watched detective conan and i had learned some words, but can anyone tell me the meaning of 'kun' which comes after someone's name like ''conan kun''??
@Imad949494 a title to refer to people. like mr and mrs. kun is what you use for inferiors and peers. but instead it is now used for boys mostly. if a guy calls girl kun it has a weird old fashioned taste to it. san is for someone you respect sama is like someone you look up to, chan is like a cute way to say it. then there are others you probably do not hear of often
@TLoZfanatic The big ang small japanese letters, you mean? the big ones are Kanji. The small ones are hiragana. the small ones are sometimes placed on top of the kanji characters because not all japanese can read kanji. :)
For now, let us stick to the easier characters, the hiragana(small ones) :)
I'm Japanese, but I didn't know where "ohayou" came from. This video is very useful for me because I can learn not only useful English expressions from cute Hiroko's English, but also new things about our language. Thanks.
You're so lucky, you're Japanese ! I am Moroccan, and we don't speak english, nor japanese, we speak arabic and french, but I teach myself Japanese and English, and I wanna start learning Spanish ! =)
In America we have a state called OHIO. This is pronounced very similarly to ohayou. In fact seeing ohayou as an American I would say this different than the Japanese speaking, but if I saw it spelled as OHIO I'd say it closer to your way.
Japanese Grammar is very different many of us Americans think they speak strangely i don't think they just created differently but I love they are creative with words i mean i love the Japanese phrases come together
Thanks for the lesson. I think it's also worth nothing that the reason "hayai" was changed to "hayou" is because that's the form you use with gozaimasu. The same idea applies to arigatou gozaimasu (the base form of arigatou is arigatai) Hope this makes sense.
so would it be weird to say the whole sentence 'o hayaku okite sugoi desu ne!' for "you're up early!"? or is there a more modern way to say this expression?
Also, the word 'Hello' was invented for use with the telephone. Before the telephone was invented nobody said greated each other with the word 'Hello'
They say ikadakimas idk how to spell it

Depending on which operating system you use, you can either unlock the fonts or download them. Google can probably give you a pretty good answer.
