  • actually the one that attempted to kill Ford belonged not only to the manson family, but also was a product of the animal rights movement. The thought process of these people who run these organizations and those who become members are a gross burden on our society.Beware of those ads currently on tv,the money brought in is used to recruit NUT jobs like her and the like.

  • the president nearly got killed but more on that after a commercial about ribs..

  • i love vintage commercials!!!

  • Heck, I enjoyed seeing commercials from back when I was a kid. I think I was about 11 or 12 years old back then.

  • I guess advertisements will always take first billing before news like an assassination attempt on the world's most powerful man.

  • omg wtf $1.49lb for roast?????

  • @sprucepantherkmt

The MILF in the commercial makes it so much cooler.

  • God Bless Joe Perez! He is more than the Jeffersons!

  • Oh my god a dollar a pound.

  • All this of "assassination " talk is bull.

It should say "lynette Fromme shows President an un loaded gun to proove a point"

  • LOL! There's a difference between making a political point and threatening the president. You obviously don't need to carry your gun to a Presidential stop just to make a point.

  • I agree. But in Lynette's mind she felt that would make a point. My point was to show how they wrongly use the phrase "assasination attempt" which was not what she was attempting to do.

Not saying she was right to do this by any means. Again it just bothers me that people take the liberty to call this an assassination attempt.

  • she had 4 rounds in the magazine but, so typical of a liberal hippie, had no idea how to make the gun fire

  • whatever

I know who you are and why you left that comment.

  • $1.59 a pound for ribs?

Man some prices on things back then were waay to expensive

  • wow!! i rib roast for 1.49 a pound

    those were the days

  • are u crazy?

  • Comment removed

  • Now those are commercials & I want some Steak soory Ford you are a great President Thank You...

  • when did they invent the teleprompter?

  • Why does Marvin have to read from his notes (very poorly I might add). I hope that dude was fired. He looks like a school kid reading a book report in front of the class.

  • Reading from notes during that era was considered "professional looking." It was a style of news broadcasting.

  • I want some of that steak

  • haha! its ron burgundy!!! Go Anchorman!

  • So now we know where they got their ideas for the movie "Anchorman".

  • hi Joe Perez...if you arent dead by now.

  • im diggin the old commercials

  • oh lord charles mansons family thing at it again huh

  • klm

  • They always look for the oddball or person that isn't acting like everybody else. there were 2 attempts on Ford. The other I believe was by a middle aged women.

  • Yes, her name was Sarah Jane Moore. She was the other lady who tried to kill him too.

  • A woman in a red dress. I think the message was clear.

  • The woman in the red dress was Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme.

  • Wow this is cool. Not the assassination attempt(thats f**ked up) but the video. Where did you find this??? I love the add of commercials it feels like im watching it live. I have my lava lamp, rolling papers and boston record spinning. Im ready to go

  • At least she was wearing red; that will match the flames of hell.

  • Crazy how the media used to actually report news, unlike the pundits we have today who are hell bent on reporting the news THEY want the public to see.

  • @krazygreen i could not agree more

  • @krazygreen And I'm just betting that it only bothers you when the spin isn't spinning your way.

  • Great post! God I love youtube!!!!!

  • it's more than the jeffersons and cannon? how can anything be more important then that. this was my first day of my freshman year of high school, i think this was on when i got home from school. hard to believe this was so long ago!
