  • My Humanities teacher's great grandad is William Wallace.

  • good man ,he wont liberta , i am turkish man, bat not give up.thies man william wallaces

  • William Wallace a man willing to give his all for what he believe in, Scotland!!! What are you willing to give for what you believe in? Life is short and there are those who would force you to live under their rule. Are you willing to be free!!!

  • rape and madnes?!

    THIS

    IS

    SPARTA!!!!

  • 4 people are english

  • @0ne0fTheFour now are you just saying that or do you have actual proof? The furthest back of anybody i know (family tree) is 1410, an English Knight by the name of John something (this is on my Great Uncles' side)

  • @0ne0fTheFour do you actually have proof by paperwork? or some other source of truth?

  • I wonder what he REALLY looked like. I bet he was handsome. I've been in love with him ever since the movie Brave Heart. I wonder if there were any paintings done of him when he was alive. I'm dying to know what he really looked like.

  • @batlady2 they say he had curly brown hair, as well as a beard, and dawned a blue tartan for his kilt (when he wore one) not much like mel gibson i would imagine.

  • @CelticWizard113 Wallace was a lowland Scot and did not weat a kilt. Only highlanders wore kilts.

  • god i wish i could have been born in that time period to meet him!

  • @ertren6 i wish I was born in that time period because even though there was much more disease and restless war, as there always has been, i think that the simpler times are much better. I agree with you though. I too would've valiantly fought at his side

  • @jackntilly The Greeks never came to this island wtf are you talking about?

  • William wallace was a scottish noble if i am not misstaken. I bet he didnt spend to much of his nights in the forest if he didnt have to.

  • @herrangst some of his family were "noble" but his close family were "common"

  • im related to wallace

  • im related to wallace.

  • @TheKonkie No your not silly :l.

  • Those of Scottish heritage are all related to this man, for we are all Sons and Daughters of Scotland.

  • He who fought, fought for freedom.

  • The battle at Stirling was on a bridge not an open field, Wallace lured the English onto the bridger then attacked from both sides, thats use'in your wits. I love the movie although its pretty historically innacurate. Wallace was kinda like a Robin Hood, if you will, he lived with his men in the woods ambushing english troops as they moved through the country. I read he was a very brutal man and would torture English prisoners till they begged for death.

  • the 4 ppl who disliked this video where killed by william wallace after he consumed them with fire balls from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

  • William Wallace was just the interim leader during the wars of independence, Andrew Moray started the rebellion and Robert Bruce led it to victory 20 years later. Wallace led the bit in the middle. A lot of Scottish history has been skewed because of Braveheart, a film written by a descendent of Wallace.

I'm not saying he wasn't a hero, he was, but he was also just a farmer who got caught up in something Andrew started and Robert finished.

  • @FatBlackFrancis finally someone who knowns the truth. But, im pretty sure William Wallace had no heirs :l

  • @FatBlackFrancis I'm related to a Bruce family.

The last royal family of Scotland, my grandmother on my father's side Margaret Bruce, was her maiden name.

  • come to my channel and watch the video I did.

    I hope you enjoy.

  • I'm related to him. 0.0

  • god bless willian wallace

  • Respect and love for William Wallace and the idea of real Freedom and peace in this World! Fight for real freedom people and don´t let your brain washed by propaganda!!!!!!

  • In my opinion, william wallace is only remembered because the film "Braveheart" ....

    I just dont like that

  • @Nostro200 I think that's true for many of us who were ignorant of European history. However, I think that Millions knew who he was, long before the movie came out. And even then, let it be a movie that tells the tale - as long as it is told...and better yet, remembered.

  • I'm related to him!!!!

  • bs you a king then

  • wallace was a thief and a rapist, he used to terrorise all the other scottish clans, he isnt the heart of scotland, the people of scotland are and this beutiful country, the cairngorm mountains

  • @1987iantaylor

you werent alive during 1270 -1305 so whats the point in making those ridiculous claims? no one alive today will ever know who this man was, we just know he fought for his country and died for it

We know that men in those days were hardened by a harsh brutal life modern people wouldnt last a week in, never disrespect anyone from that time period, we can only imagine how hard life was in those days

  • @MisericordiaVerdader how do you know that he fought and died for his country , as you just told everyone else you werent alive during the 1200s , so how can you know he even existed , there is abspolutly no evidence not writtintg , no photos , no papaer work and not even a painting so how do you know he existed

  • No photos!!!! lol

  • @1987iantaylor it is easy to see the plinter in another mans eye , and miss the logg in your own if your not happy with how wallace conducted himself , then please feel free to leave this page and not come back , if you know hes a rapist then you cant be any better by watching him on youtube

  • @1987iantaylor the scottish clans all terrorised each other, just becuase wallace was bigger and stronger dont make him the only sinner , all clans fought and killed each other, he who is without sin , let him cast the first stone

  • they said william wallace is 7 feet tall yes i heard..

  • William Wallace a true legend.

  • Por un hombre ke lucho por la libertad de un gran pais como scotland asi tuvimos un heroe que lucho por nuestra libertad el se llamaba zapata

  • Good Vid !

im still dont understand way Scotland cant be like Irland - out of GB.

  • It's spelt 'Scots' not 'Scotts' only one T,unless you say 'Scottish!'

  • Betrayed and sold in chains because of an unswerving loyalty to his nation.

WALLACE is the Heart and Soul of an Independent Scotland.

  • William Wallace is a hero rarely seen Serbian people admires to him because it reminds us to our history and suffering. Scotts, be proud of this because you have a hero like William, many states would wish such a hero! Serbia has a many of them but keeps them with passion because people who practically have no history trying to incorporate them!

    With faith in God!

  • jus makes ye think, he won us the battle of Stirling, after losing Falkirk, he escaped, and him and his men went to France, then Wallace was persuaded by a scot that betrayed him, jus to get him captured when he came to Scotland, apparently edward bribed alot of people land, to help him find Wallace, disgrace how some some of the scottish people accepted a bribe, off the man (king edward) n by the country that was causing us hell

  • nice video LIBSKYE, thanks very much

  • To be honest we know very little of what the real Wallace was like, what kind of a man and all that.

But what we do know is he fought against what he saw as tyrrany and the rape of his land by an evil, lecherous race, who wanted to rule the world of their time.

For that alone we present day Scots owe him homage.

Today, the ballot box replaces the sword. The spirit of the man we don't really know still lives with us. God bless him.

  • @nacho1560 That was a lovely post by you nacho.

  • wallis was a great man but mel gibson is a twat

  • mels ok brother , hes never done anyone any harm go easy freind

  • The young learn little of Wallace, it wasn't on the curriculum when I was at school.

He's an enigma and always will be but Mel gave us a taster of what he achieved in opposing the English. And made kids proud of their country.

To oppose a force so strong and numerous in those days required courage, no doubt about that.

The one thing the film got right was that we have a very very brave man who thought being Scottish was important.

And he may have been the first to believe this.

  • They don't want us to learn of Wallace....why? Because if Scots were told of OUR history we would become an independent nation again.

  • HE WAS A BRAVE MAN

  • this tune is 'scot's wha hae' by robert Burns, who just happened to be a tax collector for the English government lol

  • HE WAS GREAT MAN

  • HE WAS A GREAT MAN WITH BRAVE SOUL

  • he was a unique fighter and galant man like our greek legend LEONIDAS OF SPARTA

  • he was leonidas of sparta, they are the same soul , wallace is the reincarnation of king leonidas

  • he was a great man with a noble soul and iron heart .he was modern LEONIDAS at his time.best regards to this galant man

  • Christ died to save the World.....Wallace died to save Scotland....Wallace lives in all of us who defy tyranny.

  • william wallace was 6ft 8 and as strong 20 men and hated tyranny!!

  • Yes and he had fireballs getting out of his arse and lightings from his eyes. A man that loves freedom is a rare sight, and this is what he was. Hail to Scotland from Greece for having such a proud son!

  • wallace is the reincarnation of king leonidas they are the same soul

  • yes i've heard, kills men by the hundreds

  • funny how they label a man terrorist when he fights for his home land and people. to me he was GREAT MAN who terrorised his enemy.

  • Wallace was a great man!. The world crys out for leaders like him! My country needs someone like him to lead us Long live Alba!

  • Your all really awesome. Wallace could have been short but in his time of life mayb the world considered him to be tall because of his running naked ness screaming highlander waving a gigantic sword at you. yourd shit yourself like the romans english did. BUT DUDE HIGHLANDERS LIVED IN HARSH CONDITIONS THEY WERE INCREDIBLY TOUGH..

  • I've always thought that maybe Wallace was simply so strong, dexterous, and cunning as a warrior, that despite the long length of his sword (5'4") perhaps he really wasn't all that tall. I'm not saying he wasn't for sure or anything, but I think people want to picture a tall man when they think of Wallace, but what if he was 5'5"? How much more impressive would that shit be? I think it would be more than possible given the lifestyle that he and all the rest of the highlanders lived.

  • 5'4 was probably tall in 1300. But accounts say he was a big man.

  • its called scots wa'hae

  • Scott-Irish-American here. Cheers to William Wallace.

  • about 6foot7

  • LIBSKYE where did you find that tomb stone?

  • he wasnt dumb, or weak. he was a intelligent man who had a dream that lived on and still lives through me :)

  • Aye Wallace was and for ever will be Scotlands true hero, he was brave and itelligent he spoke 5 languages and in those times was impressive even today thats amazing.

Wallace will always live on in the hearts of Scots all over.

Long Live Wallace and Alba Gu Brath.

Im with you champ i love Wallace To

  • lots of people state that he was 7 feet tall, that he had a robust physique, but also; that he could should fireballs out of his arse. i think he was slightely taller then the average height in those days, i'd say about 5'5 or something? what do you people think?

  • Definitely taller then 5'5. He was at least 6 foot. Much taller than the average scott during that time.

  • @ModernDrummer1234567 Two Meters mate

  • slightly taller all depends on waht was comsidered tall those days

  • I heard he was 6'7

  • HIstorians state he was at least 6ft 6 to have used a 6ft broadsword effectively in combat and i agree because ive felt the weight of his sword at wallace monument many years ago, most people had trouble lifting it off the ground.

  • in relation to the wallace sword historians put wallace at around 6'5'' but in the heart of every true scot he's at least TEN FEET TALL !

His ideals and beliefs live on 7 centuries later

  • God i love that guy, something amazing about him, definitely led by God.

  • LIBSKY you gotta hook us celtic up with some photo's of our ancestors :D

  • Thank you very much for posting this :)

I'm doing a scholarly work on William Wallace, and his heroic fight for Scottish Independence, which even through his death inspired and still does inspire people everywhere. He has become an immortal symbol for struggle and independence.

It has inspired me to make a really good piece of work :) Thanks again

  • no one really knew what William Wallace

looked liked thats why there are different people in the pics

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you!

  • When I was a child we were taught all about Wallace, the memory of those lesson always inspired me. Most English people had never heard of him, then came Braveheart. Now just the mention of his name makes them foam at the mouth. He might not be here now but his inspiration will lead us to freedom just as surely as it did then. Alba Gu Brai'th

  • when the scots beat the english on their ground they attacked england and its amazing how far they went in england. it wasnt a case where they took the whole north. they went further. they were very close to london.

  • great to see us scots are liked around the world. we are good people

  • wish i were in scotland right now

  • LOL im scottish but the film braveheart isnt how it happened,Wasnt quite that good :)

  • Don't know why they marked this comment as negative; If you look at history, if I remember correctly, Wallace won a resounding victory at Stirling Bridge.......And that's about it. Now it was Bruce, once again if I remember correctly, who led the Scots to victory and independence at Falkirk.

  • It was what Wallace stood for that made him so strong. He didn't have the support of the necessary channels that would have ensured his victory. Had all of Scotland been with him at the time, this single victory at Stirling would be a completely different story than it is now.

  • Free Scotland!

  • scotland deserves to be free, but the english bastards keep tryin 2 hold scotland down, we need another william wallace, hopefully
