@AnythingAndroid the flip ultra hd has a crappy fixed focus.. the focus range is 5 feet to infinity.... If the phone has a really really bright screen, it will adjust to the phone.. but it will be blurry since I do not think the phone will be 5 feet away.. you might as well buy a point and shoot that can record hd like the sony dsc w350 (successor w570)

@ArchieFan421921 this camera mic is ok during normal use, but under heavy use/heavy bass/ loud things, it crackles, a lot.... but it is super sensitive, so if you barely whisper a foot away it will pick it up, but its an auto sensing mic, so if you talk really loud or play something really loud with bass, it crackles and it auto mutes it a little bit, so overall with your question, its not that good for concerts..
@Danica028 , the fact that cisco closed flip means the flip ultra hd might be out of stock or for sale really cheap, and right now for around $130 i believe, for the 3rd gen flip ultra hd 8gb, its a pretty good deal, but the fact that the flip ultra hd doesn't have macro, it is a fixed focus, the manual says the focus is from 5 feet to infinity, and in dark/low light, the video can become grainy, i would recommend a camera that has macro mode, and good video quality in low light...
@Danica028 like a sony dsc-w350, now for 2011, is renamed the sony dsc-570, it as a real zoom, macro mode, takes very good 16.1 megapixel pictures as well as panorama shots and very good video, when I bought my flip ultra hd, it was $199, when i bought my sony dsc w350, it was $159.99, and i kinda regret the flip now lol
Charlie, this was a good test. I just got the 3rd generation 2 hour. Can't wait to try it out. BTW, that beautiful cat is an American Snowshoe. They're kind of rare.
I have a flip ultra HD...but there's a problem when I upload videos. The video sort of cuts off on the sides (it's black, you can check out one of my vids to see) and I don't know how to fix it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
@B1gB3rth4 the flip ultra hd does have a good mic, and its stereo, but the mics "crackle" when under heavy bass, and it has a fixed focus, so if your going to make a parody with the cam in your hand or so, i would not recommend it unless its on a tripod and your more than 5 feet away. Right now i recommend the sony dsc w350. its 14 megapixels unlike the flip's 0.9 mp sensor. also the sony is cheaper, can take decent videos with 4 x zoom and 2 x digital zoom , and can take pictures&panorama
@goldenst14 sorry for the long wait, after comparing, the sony has more washed out colors, but can record a wider angle, and has a real 4x zoom, but its distorted, you can look at videos, the sides of the video curl up, the flip has better contrast and i would recommend the flip.
Did you have to do anything special when editing to make the video fit the full Youtube Player? So like, there is no black borders on the video clip? But instead it fits the full player box - Or does the Flip Automatically do it?
@tyfi109 i think i know what you are talking about, you have to wait for the video to load just a bit, and then hit full screeen, if you hit fullscreen and it goes in hd mode without loading, there will be black bars on the side..
@DanAndLeon gaming footage..the flip is kinda slow recording, but i dont know if the new flip with 60fps is any better, but it is good in low light.. the flip has a 0.9 megapixel sensor cmos...very good in low light, infact most cmos are good, ccd sensors are okay in low light, but have a higher resolution, you can Google cmos vs ccs camcorder, i recommend cmos like the flip.....but i also recommend a sony camcorder, it's like the sony xdr 150 or something, its a 3.1 cmos camcorder..very good.
im not even paying attention the quality of this..lol..im just focus on how rich this guy is..hahaha,,pond..boat..bmw..two garage houses..lol.damn..haha
@BartandBucky what do u mean? what doesnt work? u open windows movie maker and u click capture video or something similar, and then u simply press play on your flip and then u press record on windows movie maker.
what program did you use to edit this.????????????/please please cuz it's mp3 for me and when i convert it it looks like crap then windows mm destroys it!
obviously the sound is a problem (unless it's just my crappy headphones I'm using now), have you tried attaching a microphone on it and seeing if the sound is better?
