Just got this ending yesterday. The Queen Grotesquerie was probably the most hardest and most annoying boss fight in any game i've played. So naturally, i expected some epic ending, and then.... well, this happened. I raged, i laughed and i cried all in the same time. Best game ever (or at least, the game with the best story ever)
we have the "proper" ending that leads to the games own sequal.
BUT we also have this ending (which is not canon, but is) that leads to Nier which technically never happened seeing as the proper ending is the proper one.

you know what really happened?! Caim jumped on the jets, slaughtered the Pilots, then, with Angel, killed all the baddies in this world, and just to make things better. Recruited a pedophile and insane child eatting woman, along with a child that doesn't grow. And just to top that all off, there happens to be an annoying red headed guy on a black dragon, whom kisses a dead woman. Pleasant, huh? Also. theres giant babies, ogre, gryphons, dragons, goblins, faeries, depressing sword storys,& caim.
So when the grotesquerie appeared it still managed to reverse time to the point that planes and modern buildings simply started to disappear and over a thousand years people reverted back to medieval times with anomolies of the black scrawl and the grimoirs, along with the shades.

*chuckles i remember after three weeks of jammed fingers and bloodshot eyes i finally got every wepon. then i got this, i wanted to destroy japan. Drakengard 1 is purly bad ass except fo one thing 2 does better, no giant elf eating babies.
only part about drakengard 2 was fighting legna as nowe at the end. the first one was much better in my opinion and caim is so much more of a heartless killer badass type then nowe. which appeals to my sense of what someone saving the world should be where as nowe tends to bitch after every kill. but thats just my opinion
then again caim may have not been a heartless killer since his voice is taken away from the pact. but when he fights angelus he gets his voice back he doesnt start crying. in my opinion the biggest flaw in drakengard 1 is there is no way to parry. drakengard 2 fixed that but at the expense of a amazing story line

Ok this might seem like a lot to ask but could someone tell me the story and perhaps describe the charecters? I think this game looks really cool and I would like to know the story ( please dont ask me to play the game, I know I should but I dont have the time.... :( )
Caim in the beginning has to make a pact with Angelus. Reason being cuz he's dieing from blood loss. Every playable character makes a pact with a powerful beast and has to pay a price. Thus when humans make a pact a "pact emblem" is formed on the parts of their body in which the pact affects. Inuart is Caim's BFF. Once the beast dies so does the human. Well it's a way against the Union and the Empire and yeah nothing much really to say. It's a good game and worth every penny so go and try it!!!
The place they arrived is 新宿(Shinjuku) in Japan, 新 shares the same sound with 神,which means God, and 宿= reside. Pretty tragic, they thought they arrived at the God's country and got killed painted the Tokyo Tower red.
So.... basically they arrived in shinjuku, and somehow went all the way over to tokyo and (metaphorically speaking) painted the tokyo tower red? shunjuku is far off from tokyo- not unless Angelus can fly super-duper fast in 10min.
What ... were they thinking. This is the worst ending of them all! Even the american voice actor at the end seems to be saying "oh boy what the hell..." xD
Guy 1: "And if the player finally manages to beat her, let's reward him with a crappy ending where a fighter jet randomly flies in and shoots him down!"
Guy 3: "You guys are IDIOTS!!! (pause) They should warp to Tokyo, Japan, instead!"
Guy 1&2: "All right, then, Tokyo it is."
Guy 3: "Also, let's make the mom, who is the final boss nearly impossible to beat and force the player to die again and again and again trying to beat her!"
Guy 2: "Great idea! I mean, it's not like we've made our bosses hard enough, right?"
Here's what probably happened when they were coming up with the ending the end to this game:
Guy 1: "Hey, for the ending of Drakengard, how about we have giant, evil, mutant babies fly out of nowhere and eat one of the characters, turning them into their mom?"
Guy 2: "Cool! And how about we have the mom and Caim, the dragon all randomly warp through some magic dimensional portal that warps them to, wait for it... Beijing, China!!"
I have to admit,I havent even gotten this ending on my own and now,im glad I didnt waste my time,though this is an ok game,and it is more of a phsycological mind slaughter than F.E.A.R.,due to the high levels of pure insanity that WILL no doubt leave its mark in some form,no matter your age,I think the difficulty of GETTING this and the reward are not enough incentive,this is the developers version of giving the audience the one finger salute -_-; anywho,thanks for postin.

I know where your coming from. ending 1 is my favourite too. but the point of this ending is to show that WE are the gods/ groutesquaries. Tokyo (or rather our world) WAS the land of the gods.
well if we simply look at Drakengard 2 it points out that ending 1 is the correct ending.. that I'm content with (even though Drakengard 2 was... crap)

The ending are all brilliant, they aren't happy, fabricated feel-good bullshit, they are tragic and reflect reality more then anything... often showing that something almost always must be lost for something to be gained, or vice-versa... I love this game.
Well I don't quite pity or hate. I envy the naivety of people that see the world as good or fair, but then if you haven't really suffered slings and arrows, I guess there's no reason to acknowledge them.
And I didn't suggest reality as always being tragic, but more often then not and for more them most it is... and pretending things always work out is childish folly, nothing more

No. one is -sorta- happy cept the seperation besides since when do all endings have to be happy? this is not dysney dab-nabbit! Its rather refreshing to be filled with the sader endings instead of being stuffed with them cheesey, everyhting conviniently works out, happy endings.
but yeah first ending i sorta happy.. since.. its the only one where the worlds isn't doomed (and you can see sunlight) though the continuation of that ending has Angelus driven mad.. and.. them both sharing death..
i loved this game but this was i pretty f'd up way of ending it, i mean i know the ending was secret, but maybe they could have had an ultimate happy ending or something, or maybe a scooby doo ending, something to make me feel shiny and happy, maybe even a prelude to the sequel (assuming one way already planned at the time)
This game is so messed up, but most people don't even realize it. I suppose you'd understand if you went to Wiki, but the American version of the game censored a LOT of stuff--for good reason. Leonard was a pedophile, obviously Furiae had 'feelings' for Caim, and Arioch loves to kill children.
Even so, I loved this game. Angelus + Caim == ultimate pwnage.
Yeah, they're all 'what if' endings. Fortunately, Caim and Angel have a much more dignified death than this. They deserved it. Still, I was like 'ALL THAT HARD WORK JUST TO DIE!?'

only part about drakengard 2 was fighting legna as nowe at the end. the first one was much better in my opinion and caim is so much more of a heartless killer badass type then nowe. which appeals to my sense of what someone saving the world should be where as nowe tends to bitch after every kill. but thats just my opinion

then again caim may have not been a heartless killer since his voice is taken away from the pact. but when he fights angelus he gets his voice back he doesnt start crying. in my opinion the biggest flaw in drakengard 1 is there is no way to parry. drakengard 2 fixed that but at the expense of a amazing story line

maybe......but to tell you the truth i kinda hated all charecters in Drakengard 2 except for Caim Angelus and Urick....maybe u are right about storyline...but omg that moaning and bitching almost about everything, i had a feeling that i am watching third rate soap opera not playing drakengard...

Caim in the beginning has to make a pact with Angelus. Reason being cuz he's dieing from blood loss. Every playable character makes a pact with a powerful beast and has to pay a price. Thus when humans make a pact a "pact emblem" is formed on the parts of their body in which the pact affects. Inuart is Caim's BFF. Once the beast dies so does the human. Well it's a way against the Union and the Empire and yeah nothing much really to say. It's a good game and worth every penny so go and try it!!!

The place they arrived is 新宿(Shinjuku) in Japan, 新 shares the same sound with 神,which means God, and 宿= reside. Pretty tragic, they thought they arrived at the God's country and got killed painted the Tokyo Tower red.

Here's what probably happened when they were coming up with the ending the end to this game:
Guy 1: "Hey, for the ending of Drakengard, how about we have giant, evil, mutant babies fly out of nowhere and eat one of the characters, turning them into their mom?"
Guy 2: "Cool! And how about we have the mom and Caim, the dragon all randomly warp through some magic dimensional portal that warps them to, wait for it... Beijing, China!!"
Guy 1: "Awesome!"

I have to admit,I havent even gotten this ending on my own and now,im glad I didnt waste my time,though this is an ok game,and it is more of a phsycological mind slaughter than F.E.A.R.,due to the high levels of pure insanity that WILL no doubt leave its mark in some form,no matter your age,I think the difficulty of GETTING this and the reward are not enough incentive,this is the developers version of giving the audience the one finger salute -_-; anywho,thanks for postin.

I know where your coming from. ending 1 is my favourite too. but the point of this ending is to show that WE are the gods/ groutesquaries. Tokyo (or rather our world) WAS the land of the gods.

The Story line is Amazing not just good
The ending are all brilliant, they aren't happy, fabricated feel-good bullshit, they are tragic and reflect reality more then anything... often showing that something almost always must be lost for something to be gained, or vice-versa... I love this game.

Well I don't quite pity or hate. I envy the naivety of people that see the world as good or fair, but then if you haven't really suffered slings and arrows, I guess there's no reason to acknowledge them.
And I didn't suggest reality as always being tragic, but more often then not and for more them most it is... and pretending things always work out is childish folly, nothing more
Oh and feel bad endings happen more realistically then fabricated... but little point showing color to the blind

No. one is -sorta- happy cept the seperation besides since when do all endings have to be happy? this is not dysney dab-nabbit! Its rather refreshing to be filled with the sader endings instead of being stuffed with them cheesey, everyhting conviniently works out, happy endings.
but yeah first ending i sorta happy.. since.. its the only one where the worlds isn't doomed (and you can see sunlight) though the continuation of that ending has Angelus driven mad.. and.. them both sharing death..

i loved this game but this was i pretty f'd up way of ending it, i mean i know the ending was secret, but maybe they could have had an ultimate happy ending or something, or maybe a scooby doo ending, something to make me feel shiny and happy, maybe even a prelude to the sequel (assuming one way already planned at the time)

This game is so messed up, but most people don't even realize it. I suppose you'd understand if you went to Wiki, but the American version of the game censored a LOT of stuff--for good reason. Leonard was a pedophile, obviously Furiae had 'feelings' for Caim, and Arioch loves to kill children.
Even so, I loved this game. Angelus + Caim == ultimate pwnage.
