Dang! I was only peripherally aware of "Ghosts of Albion" (I knew it was something Amber Benson was writing), but this review got me all excited about getting this game. Anything to improve my planned Angel-in-the-30s-and-40s series...
I do wish Edem would make a core generic book. Having new rules spread all over the place is getting a little annoying. I understand that they make more money like that yet all the other competitors like Hero System and Gurps have core books. Either way I'm probably going to get the PDF anyway.
Definitely the best ES has to offer here folks, apart from perhaps Buffy. Fills in a lot of gaps left by Angel and Buffy, including expanding Vampire powers, and introducing Fae and Ghosts (who were long overdue). The magic system is as Kurt explained in the review, and my favorite part is something I've been waiting YEARS for, an official Flight power for CineUni!
Very looking forward to combining all the books into the Super Game!
Drama points + Unisystem's magic system = game balance destroyer. Whenever you get a spell that deals damage as a function of success levels then the ability to expend a drama point to boost your roll tends to result in spells that do absurd amounts of damage.
I'd be interested to see if this has been remedied in Ghosts of Albion.
Otherwise sounds like typical Eden publishing model : Buy a whole new book for a couple of new rules.
This looks very intersting, Im wondering though is is tied ito an already exsisting property or does it just happen to have somone who was in Buffy on the creative team?
I'm glad the magic is more well defined though - that was the most problematic part of the Buffy system. I like the ability to build your own character by components, so I might check this system out.
(Oh yeah and good to see Amber Benson doing stuff like this!)
Just as an update: this book has just been printed and should be released soon.

Don't like either Buffy or Angel as shows, so I stayed away from the games, but this sounds utterly fantastic!

I'm buying this as soon as it becomes a hard copy book.

So basically what your saying is get Albion and Angel, the rest is just fluff and wasted shelf space.

'The Ghosts Of Albion' began life as an online animated series in the UK. I believe a couple novels have also released.
