Well, if they stuck to the original comic then it wouldn't be a children's series anymore.

Leo and raph used their weapons to violently kill people in the comic, heck, Leo decapitated the Shredder when they dueled on top of a skyscraper roof.

Anyway, good to see something of ye olde series again, i still love the ending theme after all these years. Brings back memories.
