It's still necessary to have a quality graphics card, and not to the game graphics settings at maximum.

Truly the BEST mod for RTW out there, BareBonesWars or RTR are good, but they can't compete with RS2, the developers basically made a new game, there is little left from vanilla RTW or from RS1, everything was thoroughly redone, the graphics, by ZEUS! it seems like they revamped the Graphics Engine to compete with M2TW in some extent. i love the rebellions and the new, remade campaign, its just so realistic and challenging!!

@Piracetamer Try Pergamon, on Hard, or Very Hard, Pergamon is always threatened by the Greeks and other Eastern nations, their military is quite small and only possesses one city and are always under pressure from the Seleukidae, a much bigger empire.

I play Pergamon, and got my ass kicked by the Seleucids at the beggining, but after a while i managed to convince the Egyptians and the Parthians to attack them, eventually we sucked up all their territory

I like the Mod, too. It´s very nice, much historical information and realistic troops. Constructions more realistic, more realism in generous.

But there is one thing I really dislike:

The Fights take much to long. When you go 1 Unit against 1 Unit in custom battle It takes about 15-20 Minutes till they settled it out. And thats annoying!

Even in Campaign you attack 1 Unit with 4 of yours and the fight still needs 10-20 Minutes, which is totally unrealistic.

No they don´t. Thats a myth of history. A Siege maybe or something can last for years. But a combat or fight lasts about 1-2 Minutes. And a fight between 2 Phalanxes is over in 1 Minute. Believe me, I know what I am talking about. A real fight between 2 Swordfighters for example lasts a few seconds.

You know hoe the Battle of Thermopyles was fought? Short fights, retreat, short fight. If u dont believe me, take an armor/sword and fight someone even. U won´t last 5 Minutes.

@DerSpartaner A siege can last for years because they need the proper siege tools to besiege their troops. Not any men just give up his territory. And the Battle of thermopylae was waves of attacks which eventually last for hours. And I did clearly stated that "Battles last till midnights". Meaning that a full round of troops will be fighting for the whole day. If you're talking about individual fights between one guy and another, like a gladiatory battle, it'll be a total different story.

And I didn´t mean fights between Individuals. As you are claiming respect of your knowledge, name ONE Battle in ancient history where a single clash of troops lastet more than 10 Minutes. There were clashs and then they turned back, to fight again. So a Battle wasnt over, but the fight between the troops was interrupted because of stamina and else. If you say smthing different, your invited. I give you equipment and a regiemtn of people to show me, how long a battles lasts.

I am an historican working for university and a martial artist reeanacting with authentic armor and weapons.  Otherwise, if your other games "total war" work well, you will have no problem with Roma Surrectum II. ;)

I really love this mod, but whenever I do big battles the game crashes after some time. It really sucks because my computer isn't bad at all, I even lowered the settings I just want to have the unit sizes on large cause it's fucking epic. It doesn't even lag bad or something like that, just after some time the game crashes, which sucks because the battles are so long with this mod, they take up to half an hour.

2 - Fraps or Xfire (video capture)

3 - Video editor for editing (effects, transitions ...)

@barsyha To trigger the Imperial Reforms, you need to build the "Palace of the Praetor Vicarius" in the city of Akragas in the region of Sicila Medius.For the building to be available, the population of a city must reach at least 24,000. If you build the Palace on another city like Rome, it won't trigger the reforms. You must build it in Akragas to trigger the reforms :) Hope that helps :)

I love the part at 4:01. The camera that swings from left to right while the Parthian heavy cavalry charge towards the Romans while giving you a cinematic overview of the Roman army. Amazing! Here's my review of roma surrectum:

I play campaign veryhard, battles hard, the infantry cannot rout, even when surrounded, pepperd with flaming missiles and their general dead, this makes battles waay to long. Also, there are alot of useless units, infantry that basically do the same thing, just with different appearance and slightly different stats.

Campaign is too easy, AI is just plain stupid leaving a whole army on an island doing nothing...

I got alex and bi btw.
