  • Thanks Billy for sharing. It's great to know how things were in recording studios last time. How things have changed. Peace.

  • where is fusion now its totally dead, people think im fucking weird to play it.

  • Great man.

  • to mountaindewzilla: he's not down talking anyone, he's explaining what he's seen & heard, he can think for himself pretty well-- either way i would like to hang out with Billy because hes one cool dude

  • true words...just true.

  • "It's nothing like it is now."

    That's for sure.

  • He doesn't think very highly of hip-hop culture, huh?

It's ironic that mentioned the appearance of these cats, that way, when George Duke has been one fat dude.

At least he acknowledged the expression.

I don't know man... I have mixed feelings about Billy's views, but no one can deny his mastery of rhythm :)

  • Why doesn't he respect hip-hop>>>> Because it hasn't EARNED any respect!!! He is calling it like it IS....BS made up by people with out the talent to actually PLAY anything.

  • My problems with these sentiments about rap music are that they are generalizations, and the intention seems to be to invalidate whatever art there is to be found in it.

It seems like Billy was pretty much saying "This is decadent, and negative in tone", which in many cases, I totally agree with. As a matter of fact, I think that a very large cross section of hip-hop culture is purely decadent.

That said, there is still plenty of content just as respectable in rap music as in other genres.
