  • This is awesome man. I needed to figure out an effective way of using the pitch control and you helped me out there!

  • How does this make you better? Am I missing something?

  • im sick of ppl trying to put virtual dj down its the most popular program out there ?

the sync button does not always work

  • Why do most of the younger people think mixing is about pressing a sync button on virtal dj or anything else ,mixing to me is about listening to the tune and beatmatching in your head or is proper djing a thing of the past . Getting sick of people saying get with the times . Its called a disc jockey for a reason not a sync button pusher ( S.B.P )

  • @DJScottyDog501 good comment, but virtual dj got me into djing and now im learning with vinyl

  • @DJScottyDog501

Proper Djing is a thing of the past. Sad but true. The new type of DJing is about cutting up the songs with effects etc.

  • previous made song get more effort, this shiit on this video you can play easy on Virtual DJ, GET PRO !! my shiit sounds much better, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT STYLE U LIKE

  • @belgiumboy3 ok dude you probably use sync pussy get vinyls

  • @ChiTown453

yes i use sinc, if not, you make it harder for yourself, in that time you can use other effects 'n stuff like that

  • @DJlaDD96 Eat shiiiiiiitzz

  • @DJlaDD96 Fuck you

  • Hey so I was wondering if Key lock is a necessary thing to have on a vinyl player if you're mixing vinyl or if you can do well with just the pitch changer? Do you recommend the key lock?

  • Thank You

  • this is cool~

  • im gonna use da audio of u chattin 4 the 1st 40seconds 4a build 2 a drop lol

  • i dont understand the point of doing this at all. can someone please explain it to me? thanks

  • @erohDGC Mhkay. When DJing, one has to take existing pieces of music, or songs, and play them one after each other, in one seamless continuation. The transitions between the tunes must be heard as little as possible. So one needs to sync the two tracks, so they play at the same time while one ends and one see its elemensts intruduced. That's it!

  • @bobywaz i understand that. but in this particular video, why is he moving it with his hand then turning the deck off and trying to keep it in time? how does this help? i see alot of DJ's moving it with their hands but i thought that was just seeking through the track, it obviously cant help mixing because even if it you move it with your hands itll return to the pitch on the pitch controller when you let go. thanks for replying anyway.

  • @erohDGC It helps you get used to whether you need to pitch the track up or down dependant on whether you're moving your finger faster or slower... It's nothing you'd actually do playing out

  • @erohDGC It helps you figure out if tracks need to go faster or slower. It basically helps you feel what you need to do.

That's it! That's how music is played in clubs!

  • @erohDGC teaching beginneers on how to beatmacth like oold days instead of pressing sync like they do know

  • Great practice man, would never thought of it myself but it really works well. Thanks for this one!

  • whats the first tune called?

  • i love this guy cause hes awsome but i bought crappy vinyl turntables for 300 dollars and im trying to make the most of it than i noticed, WAIIITTTT!!!! i don't even have amps or speakers or any good vinyls.

  • @duudetechnoXD problem

  • @duudetechnoXD

hahaha that made me laugh so much

  • brilliant

  • good way to get started. thanks

  • @MCDEVVOMAN cause hes a good guy

  • thx man I starting to get it :-)

    greats from holland

  • ellaskins is the shit

  • @noxgoals why ?

  • i got the same setup

  • Ok, now you're just showing off.

  • I usually have to keep tapping the outer edge of the record to keep the timing synchronized, vinyl is my favorite way to play a set because I have the most control over que and beatmatch

  • i like your videos , youve helped a bunch :) ive watched like 10 or more for help, your also on that learn how its done website or watever, great help keep em comin :DDD

  • what a video, so good and weird video

  • Holy s*** this is difficult! But it's a great way to learn to "hear" the beat! Thank you very much!

  • that's pretty good trick

  • those tracks are pretty awful :L but yeah thanks alot for the help

  • looking for classic vinyl tracks ? check out my group of facebook Vinyl for Dj's

  • top teacher many thanks ;)

  • wow!!

  • this is very good...but no one actually exp[lains what beat has to be matched up and how to work out which one needs to be sped or slowed down..

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH - PRACTICE! YES

  • Right on, thanks for the advice! If nobody can get this by watching you, then they wont ever get it. Thanks.

  • this advice is ok, what he is relly trying to say is when beat matching, the record your going to match is going to faster or slower then the one playing, and he is trying to teach you the skill of (in this instance) speeding the record up to match the beat, there is also the other skill of when the record is going to have to be slowed down (which he doesnt show) its all about speeding up and slowing down SKILLFULLY with your hands, and that is what he is trying to demonstrate.

  • So I have to say the guy has it right on it. Simply top like he does it.

  • i dont get how this would help if you were playing out.... doesnt really teach much about beatmatching by turning the power off

  • arguably the best dj ever?

  • After Larry Levan, sure. :)

  • @audioh0lic

    no^^

    best DJ ever...Daft Punk ;)

  • @Hennethelord you do know that Daft Punk is not one person right?

  • @CMurdaMixes

hell yeah i do know that they consist of Guy-Manuel and Thomas

i think i was just too lazy to write DJ duo xD

  • wicked tutorial

  • why say that? bit harsh

  • very very good tutorial. i never learnt with tutorials myself but wish i had seen something like this would have helped speed process up alot!

  • awesome awesome awesome!

  • ok question, should you only beatmatch with instrumentals or is it just good to practice with?

  • you need to beatmatch with nearly all music in some way or another, even if its just to bring in a new track so thetransition sounds smooth

  • ive done this, its good advise j (as always)

  • Where did you get the pacemaker hat? is amazing I want one!! jeje

  • 10 out of 10 for goin completely off subject of the video

  • hahaha this guy sounds like bas rutten.

  • yo man what turntables u using?

  • technics sl-1200 MK2

  • great videos mate!!thanks for putin the time to make them!

  • I have Vestax PDX 2000,and you can't do this with it,becouse motor stops imediately, even if you adjust brake time,it wont move two or three seconds after it stopped. And I realise that motor is controled by electronic.

  • good

  • no i mean 1000, my point is that the bpm is irrelevant, it doesnt change the physical speed of the record. Incidentally, moby once produced a tune that went up to 1000bpm. It's quite good.

  • 1000 BPM, is just about the same rythm as 125 BPM

  • Its the diffrences between the bmp that is important. It is like a ratio. Like the guy said 1000bpm = 500bpm = 250bpm=125 bpm=62.5bpm=31.25 and so on

  • Surely it's the rpm, not the bpm that makes the difference? if your tunes are 1000 bpm but the records a 33, your finger should be fine.

  • u mean 100 right?

  • whats the fukn differance the whole point of him only doing one with the power off is to follow the other if u want to see both done its just as easy!!!!

  • lol, dumbass!

  • made it look easy but i know were ur comin from.. but im a scouse house dj and my tunes go from 140BPM to 170BPM and trust me its not easy, and if i had to keep the beats in place with my finger my finger would fall off mate haha

  • i know wot u mean m8 im scous house its hard to tht

  • thats actually not a bad idea

    helps beat matching really well

especially when i am a cdj dj and moving to vynl !

    peace

  • u will love the turntables m8 i got a cd deck 4 xmas so i unpluged ma other deck so i can get uesd to 2 the cd deck and im thinkin of unplugin ma cd deck cos i miss vinyl turntables
