Q24 can be solved and the answer is B. The first question is an inequality but the second is not. It states that 700x=280 which will give you an exact value instead of a range like question 1.
Sal, it's because of your teachings that I was able to catch your mistake on Q24. I greatly appreciate all the videos. Before watching these videos I would have agreed with your answer for 24.
isnt question 24 that both statements together are sufficient since (1) x < .5 and (2) x < .4 so together they are .4 < x < .5 ??? im probably wrong but this is wat i was thinking
Sal, hats off to you for helping GMAT students. You are doing a great service to GMAT / MBA applicants like me, especially since I have been out of touch from Math for a long time... Thanks
he makes it really easy on me. i'm just burshing up with his algebra lectures and here just watching and then practicing. i think with his great effort to help us it became a matter of time ti well prepare to write the gmat test
Thanks for your videos but i think Q.24 is wrong. X<0.5 means x can be both 0.3 or 0.1 or anything. Similarly statement 2 is insufficient too. Taking both the statements together you can answer the question.
Pls avoid such mistakes as there have been 750 people as of today who took away a wrong information.
Here, statement 1 says x<0.5. But statement 2 says x=0.4.
So statement 2 is sufficent, but statement 1 is not sufficient. So the answer is B.
Strings, you are wrong too. I am just saying that GMAT is very tricky. We all make mistakes. I am still learning. The problem is that we have less than 120 seconds per question and in a hurry, we make mistakes.
See thats the mistake 50np.. You are wrong. The second statement is written wrong twice in the video. Actually statement 2 says: 700x>280 (Refer official guide pg:279). So this statement actually comes down to x>04.
Hence both statements together are sufficient.
But ofcourse everybody makes mistakes!! I'm just saying - it could be avoided!!!
I just checked the official GMAC book and statement 2 is ">" not "=" as mentioned in the video.
Ofcourse, you mean "Hence both statements are NOT sufficient!"
I am getting so frustrated with GMAT these days. I scored 530 in my first attempt without preparation. Then I got a letter from a MBA school saying that I would be selected if I scored more than 550. Now, I desperately need to cross 600. I just have a few days left for my GMAT 2nd attempt.
Out of the 700+ videos Sal has provided to you for free I wouldn't be lecturing him on his rare mistakes. Even the book is full of errors. Besides, all the answers are included in the book you should be double checking all answers anyways =]
Your videos are very helpful! I wish you had these gmat problems before I took the GMAT! Fortunately I'll be taking it again the near future so I'll definitely use your tutorials to guide me :)
I've been subscribed to you for awhile and i didn't even know you made GMAT tutoring videos! Awesome! Please keep making them, I'm taking the GMAT soon! THANK YOU!
