  • This is so good luv ur voice

  • The water bitch!!!! ugh!

  • do you put conditioner,rinse,repeat

  • Any shampoo?

  • Beggining was iratating. Ugh.

  • Wasting SO much water! That really bugged me throughout the video! THINK GREEN - water is precious! : ]

  • We've all wasted water.

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way you waste water, I'm going to do that too

  • thats a way of cleaning brushes but i was told soo many times.. when drying brushes to get those brush sleeves and put them on your brushes to protect bristles and let them dry in a cup upside down so the water doesnt damaged the handles...

    is that totally true?

  • @AkiAme0 not really... i mean u do have to put then down.. or else the water goes down and messes up the glue and the hair comes out.. but u dnt have to use those brush guards...

  • @PinkEcstacy really? hmm.. because i dont have any brush guards. So may be a dumb question but my brushes are my babies, DONT wanna eff them up, so how else do you let them dry upside down... imean sticking them upside alone would mess up the bristles,

there should only be ONE right way of doing it, cause i get confused ><

  • i laughed at your bloopers, you're funny! we have the same laugh & i must admit it's not the most attractive laugh, lol! well, just keepin it real here. =)

  • ahahahahhaahahhahahaha

  • chill with the water... if you took a bath it would use 20 times more.. chill people

  • Hey gurly!!:)) youre so pretty and ur really funny live this video works great

  • 2:21 hey save the water, think about the planet and the animals

  • ur freakin hot!

(yes im a girl =)) hey did u make that hole one the mat for ur sink?

  • ur freakin hot!

    (yes im a girl =))

  • Thank you this was lots of help :D

  • Thanks so much! I was out of my Bare Essentials brush cleanser, but did this method w some baby shampoo and it was awesome! I think like 2 yrs of makeup came out of my brushes!

  • Oh, and if you're concerned about wasting so much water just rub all the brushes on the palm of your hand, and THEN rinse them all at the same time. :)

And the best way to dry your brushes is upside down, that way the water won't accumulate inside the handle where the glue is.

  • I use my Dove creme bodywash, that way it cleanses the brushes and moisturizes them at the same time. It's 2 steps in 1, and I know they won't get too oily, like with people that use olive oil and dishwasher soap.

  • I actually heard that shampoo kinda drys up the brushes, and that it's better to use dish washing soap and to also apply some olive oil to kind of hydrate the brushes. I also heard that you should dry them upside down or the bacteria will go back to the roots of the brush or something like that. I never tried it or this one cuz I don't have brushes yet, soo I don't know if that is true or not.Btw, I loooove your vids!! -3

  • I use baby shampoo

  • I don't really like the way cheap shampoos smell or how they feel afterward, so I always use baby head to toe washes! :)

    It works wonders!

  • I always set my wet brushes on the window and they dry completely. Good video

  • Lol why is everyone complaining about the water running? Obviously she's using it to wash the brushes, its not a big deal -___-, BTW, I love this video, :)

  • That start made me laugh my ass off.

  • OMG you use too much water!!!!!!

  • you are gonna ruin those brushes!!!! what are you thinking???!!!

  • thumbs down for the bloopers

  • nice.. i'll do the same with my Brushes..

but so much wastage of Water....!! ://

  • Very helpful:)

  • I enjoyed the video!

  • You should probably edited out your bloopers...its kind of annoying

  • thank you! :)

  • Thanks a lot for this tutorial. Ive watched so many "How to clean your brushes" videos, but all of them were using special and professionel brush cleanser - I really dont have in my range of products. You were the only one just using ordinary shampoo! So thank you again!

  • Saw your page and wanted to say hey!

  • Firstly, thank you for the tutorial. But Whoah. This is the first video I saw that did two of the following things: 1. use another shampoo other than baby shampoo and 2. submerged the brush and the metal part in water. I thought it was super bad to submerge your brushes in order cuz apparently it caused shedding or affect the glue of the brush. Your thoughts on this please??????????????????

  • Thank you SO much for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Camille honey!! Shame on you! You're wasting so much water unnecessarily! Save & conserve energy and water gal, c'mon do your part for nature and the environment, will you??

I love your videos and useful tips but I cant help but point that out abt your excessive wastage of water. Not good at all, quite disappointed. :(

  • i love the idea of using shampoo and you're accent is cute.

but what i hate about this video is that you wasted too many water.

    please learn how to conserve.

open the water only when you're gonna use it. :/

  • Ur wasting sooo much water turn off the tapp!!!

  • wow dont let the tap open alone, ur wasting water :( :( :(

  • lmfao ur so funny

  • lmao you were so funny in the beginning of the show lol

  • I have a Question, i use Baby Shampoo for my Brushes but i was told to NOT use any other Shampoo and you are using other Shampoo? I have always thought Shampoo Would be good but everyone says no?? The shampoo will not ruin it will it??? Everyone says not to use any other shampoo then Baby Shampoo b/c it is too HARSH on the brushes IF ANYONE KNOWS PLEASE TELL ME:p THANKS!!

  • Good tip for you :) I take my brush wipe it on a baby wipe then put some shampoo on the baby wipe and then rub in back and forth in the brush, then i take some water and spray it onto the shampoo on the baby wipe then keep going, it managed to make my purple 217 go white again so its great, i use Aussie Miracle Moist ;) try it xx

  • @vanitasxx I Do do this too, i use the baby wipe and baby shampoo and do the ame thing as you said:P it really does get the purple out and all the other colors out:P Thanks for sharing:P

  • so i can wet the metal part && the handle part? that wont damage anything? lol im always scare to wet that.

  • @helloangelkitty22 IF YOU DO IT ALL THE TIME, IT WILL RUST!!!! But i get them wet once in awhile, that wont rust them but if you get them wet every time you clean your brushes it will start to Rust So i would not Recommend doing it all the time!!! Hope this hlps!!!

  • if you want to fix your broken brush that falls apart on you i found this tip on youtube: take a hairdryer and make the metal hot to melt the glue then let it dry while the brush is still together and it should work it did with mine......well you can use that is i just made ANY sense

  • i just got my stippling brush yesterday and used it to try it and then i washed it with dove shampoo and when i finished washing it i let it air dry then it smelt really bad?! please reply back !

  • I love this. they always say not to "submerge" your brushes in water or soak them because they will come apart or it will loosen the glue after awhile. But I scrub & submerge my brushes also (but not for long periods at all) & they are usually fine. I deep clean less & spot clean my brushes more often. I usually use the MAC cleanser for my brushes. But its about to run out, so instead of buying another im going to go ahead and invest in some suave shampoo. THUMBS UP I love this!

  • hi i commeted yayay

  • u kinda remind me of Kandee Johnson

  • are you high O.o??

  • how often do you need to clean your brushes? sorry if that's a dumb question, i'm new to it!

  • You're like a mix of Sarah Palin and Leighton Meester.

  • does this also sanitize them?

  • wow sooo funny that i just watched this video!!! i just bought brush cleaner last month for the first time ever!! n i have had my mac brushes since late 2004!!! and i always used whatever shampoo i had to clean my brushes!! haha good to know thats how the pros clean them too!! love your videos so far!!!

  • You are funny!

So how do you clean them DURING the job between clients? Aren't there some cleaners that dry in a minute? How do you sanitize? Alcohol?

Yeah I feel bad about the amount water I need to clean my brushes, but I'd feel worse if I used dirty or soapy tools on clients' faces.

    It's a tough one.

    Thanks !

  • How do we d he

  • how do we hang them?

  • @MaraMeleenaSantos001 u can get a hair tie and simply tie it around ur brush then get a bobby pin or clip clip it to the hair tie and then onnto a towel and hang it somewhere

  • TUR OFF THE FRIKEN WATERR!! :(

  • TUR OFF THE FRIKEN WATERR!! :(

  • AHHAHAHAA you're hilarious!!!!! you're really funny and pretty and i love your videos!!! you just earned another subscriber :)

  • stoned much?

  • how do u dry them though?

  • how about the drying of the brushes??

  • I like this tutorial but it breaks a bit my heart to see the quantity of wasted water.

  • watching the beginning of this video was SO fun :] makeup should never be too serious! love your personality. subscribing~

  • 0:05-0:33 hulourious and funny haha

  • You sorta laugh weird

  • i love you videos :) your like a proper person :)lol you watch other people and can tell there pretending to be nice and stuff but you just seem sooo nice n genuine :)thankyouuu :) xx

  • Is this ok to do for elf brushes? how often should i be washing my brushes?

  • I am so glad I came across your video. I was just buying a new foundation brush every few weeks because i couldnt figure out how to clean them

  • wow im a mom of two boys i recently started worrying more about my appereance and from knowing nothing about makeup u have teached me alot thanxs n keep doing more vids..

  • Can u do this with double sided brushes 2 ?

  • haa i have 2 brushes...

  • @RainbowCuppercake hahaha me too! i wonder if this applys to the eye brow brush!

  • Great tip! Thank you so much!

  • I have always heard that if you are going to deep clean your brushes like that, you keep the bristles facing down, because if they were facing up that metal part (I have no idea what it's called) would get all rusty and the bristles will fall out.

I loved this video and it has helped me out a ton! Thanks!

  • omg, you crack me! You're so the BEST guru on youtube.

  • omg this helped soooo much!! i was wondering how i could get all my eyeshadow and stuff off but everything i looked up said not to get the brushes wet!! thankyouuu♥

  • I love your voice and accent :)

  • hi tht woz really good i love make up and i hav probally thrown out 50 brushes last month coz they were dirty but now i can clean them and hav more money thanks soooooooo much

  • i actually do almost the exact same thing to my brushes except that i use a very mild hand soap...lol

  • ur FUNNAYYYY lolzz

  • Thanks! That was very helpful and honest. I had such troubles trying to keep my brushes dry it's good to know it's not a big deal if they get wet.

  • U got a lot of brushes. Sorry but I have to mention you use a lot of water! Still like your vids though! Dont get mistaken. :P

  • what about the glitter and glue brush u said u were gunna show later :( i have a brush like that and i need help :)

  • this was really helpful!! :)

  • olive oil is also an alternative to the mac cleanse off oil. I use olive oil with my my angled liner brush for my gel liner it works very well!! I use the Shop Rite brand baby shampoo as cheap as it gets lol!!!!!

  • thank you so much this worked really well :) even on my gel liner brush xxx

  • Sometimes if you use a very scented shampoo can break you out or cause irritation, so if it does use a baby shampoo or plain organic shampoo, but if you have normaly skin using just any shampoo should work just fine. Thanks for the tip Camille! =D

  • cool vid

  • I was wondering the same thing as kellypeers. How do you dry them? And do you have to be careful about reshaping them?

Thanks for the vids! Very informative. :o)

  • You are so darned cute! I spend way too much time cleaning my brushes...this is a great solution (pardon the pun)! Curious...what do you do to dry 'em? I lay them out (ends hanging off the edges) of a cookie cooling rack. But since you get plenty of water in them I figure you might dry them upright (meaning upside down! What??!). Whadda ya say?

  • never dry them with the bristles facing upwards, the water will seep back into the brush and rot the glue causing MAJOR SHEDDING. always dry on their side, or get a costal scents brush guard (really cheap!) and put that on with a bit of guard left above the bristles and put them upside down in a cup. this will also help retain the shape :)

  • Lol people are really tripping about this water issue...

  • haha your so funny i love it! i think me and you will last all day laughing lol

  • wow, thanks. I used to expend a lot of money cleaning my brushes

  • Hi...love your tips! I used suave on my Mac brushes and the bristles are kinda hard. Have you ever used baby shampoo....kinda wondering if that will get my bristles soft again.

  • Hey! Love all your tips. They really help me out.

The only thing that I'm concern from this video is the fact that you let the water run all the time and I think that you could've use the water just when you need it. Sorry I'm very concern about the waste of water, maybe because in my town we're having problems with the water supply, so please don't waste it!

I'm not trying to be MEAN or anything just that I'm kind of an ecofriendly person.

Still love you and your vids so much!

  • One question though: I have 3 MAC brushes (188, 187, Hello Kitty blush brush) that will NOT stop shedding. So bad that I can't use them. I don't have the receipt or I would have taken them back. I won't buy another face brush from them, ever. I love their eye brushes. But I spent so much money....and they won't stop shedding. I have washed them many times to no avail. Any advice on salvaging them?

  • Okay wash them again use some coditioner and Comb them out rinse and repeat using just conditioner when you think you have gotten out the hairs rinse out the conditioner use some shampoo if the brushes still have too much slip to them! Let me know how it works! ;-) If not you take them back !!! without a reciept and everything at least get NEW ones!

  • Sorry it took so long! I'm working too much on call..haha. Anyway...I think it helped A LOT! Thank goodness I found you:) I plan on using them more often to make sure they are not still shedding, but it sure seems better. Thanks again:)

  • I think it's hilarious that MAC doesn't even use their own brush cleaner...LOL! I love Beauty Blender Cleanser that came with my blender sponge - it's great and convenient to use with that unusual pump it has. I still don't get the ferrules wet though. It might not do anything to it or make the brush head come off, but I just can't do it! :)

    Love you, lady!

  • This method worked so well! I tried it last night and I'm never going back to brush shampoo unless I absolutely have to. My brushes are nice and clean and they feel incredibly soft. Thank you for sharing this with us Camille!

  • Well you shouldn't use HOT water because it might damage your hands. You can avoid getting water all the way up the metal part :)

  • that's kinda how I do it, I just use shampoo

  • i used this way last night and it worked so good! i used baby shampoo and it took care of the breakage and shedding too thanks for the tips!

  • I use shampoo on my brushes all of the time too. I've just kept it a secret. lol

What I'm wondering though isn't it bad to get water up in the ferrel? When you soaked your brushes and then ran water on them upside down I went EEK!

I've always been told to keep the brushes pointed down and try hard not to get water up inside the ferrels. Maybe that was wrong advice?

    TY! xoxo

  • it doesnt matter so long as you dont DRY them upside down. never dry them with the bristles facing upwards, the water will seep back into the brush and rot the glue causing MAJOR SHEDDING. always dry on their side, or get a costal scents brush guard (really cheap!) and put that on with a bit of guard left above the bristles and put them upside down in a cup. this will also help retain the shape :)

  • @jessmaybailey thank you, I always dry my brushes flat at a bit of an angle so no water gets in the ferrels. This video made me curious because it looks like a lot of water is getting up in the ferrels.

  • woiuldnt the water make the handle loose and the bristle fall out because it is going in the metal part?

  • looool i usually start like that my videos i do like 5-6 intros before the real thing.

The funny stuff is that when i get serious, my phone starts to ring and skrews up and i get all giggly aaaaaaand i start all over again.

Great vid for cleansing. I use intimate clear gel as a cleanser. my brushes get sooooooo soft

  • I like this video! ^^

  • it s a really good video.. thanx for your help

  • Thankyou for the friend invite and subbing to my channel. you are an amazing artist and one day i hope to be as good as you.oxo Danielle

  • for the brushes coming apart: make sure they are dry and put finger nail polish on the plastic or wooden part and reattach ur brush! i did this to a paint brush and it worked :)

  • lol. Great opening!

  • Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! ;-)

  • Awesome don't you love it!!!

  • MAC is full of Tricks lol

  • Baby shampoo is Great! and your comment means alot to me! because I love MAC but they are full of BS just like every other company lol

  • i love those moments when everything is hilarious for like no apparent reason. haha.

  • Me too! Laughter is a Great Medicine!!!!

  • OMG i do like ur vids but this is crazy i never seen anyone wash there brushes like that i use brush cleanser to spot clean and deep clean 2 or 3 times a month i use baby shampoo (a sample one right now) and work the brush into a sponge i put the bristles under water but never the farrel (the metal part) if it does get under i never put it up to the handel soo bad for brushes and i never put them upside down this vid is scary but im not a hater i love ur vids

  • I learned this at MAC your brushes aren't as delicate as you think they are I think to each their own but I have used this way for yrs and I have old brushes and they are in Perfect condition Cheap ones and Expensive ones I have a $200 Kabuki that I wash in soap and water at first I was taken back by this also but it works!!!!

  • thanx for commenting on my comment :D and yeah im sure it works obviously if you do it all the time its fine but i think im to scared to try it ill just keep treating my bushes like delicate flowers lol

  • Everybody has there own way! I love that you told me what you think! I would be a crazy person to think you guys are always gonna agree with me! I love my sisters but we always disagree and I still LOVE them! xoxoxox

  • how often do you wash them? I'm guessing not every time you use them right?

  • Work brushes yes personal brushes every two weeks!

  • you soould've turned off the water when you were just talking and not using it.

  • @x3loveyuki true but she probably left it on cause she needed it to be warm, i know with mine it takes forever to become warm lol.

  • I did! It was a15 min vid just cut out the boring stuff like waiting for the water to get warm a 100x lol

  • i would you a facial cleanser , or somethiing you can put on ur face just incase if you dont rinse it out enough , cos i dont want to have hair shampoo on my face , but nive vid =D

  • No worries but face wash is another thing you can use!

  • that makes the inside rot and the fur will fall out

  • Nope!

  • i wont put my wooden mac brushes in there

  • I learned this at MAC!!!!

  • is it ok to use regular liquid soap instead of shampoo

  • i did that once... dunno if there was a difference. but i think it's just easier to buy a shampoo for it :)

  • Sure is!!!;-)

  • I would try to stick with shampoo cause of the hair thing!!!

  • LOL

  • ;-)

  • really don't agree in this vid in so many levels;-( I make sure I don't get the whole handle wet, that's when the brush starts to get rusty especially the high end ones that are made of metal, will cause breakage and peeling and if the material used is wood, or most low end ones are made of acrylic or plastic it will rot and break off.

  • You shouldn't soak your brushes but water passing thru them will not hurt them they aren't Feathers I have had my brushes for years and they are PERFECT I have one broken brush that busted by being dropped on the floor its 10 yrs old so I don't think its had abad run lol I learned this at MAC thats how they clean there brushes! They don't Rot!

  • thanks Camille for shedding a light on this...maybe i am just being too careful with my precious brushes haha! they are my babies ;-)

  • omg, I always use mac cleanser for my brushes, but now I'm totally going to use suave. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • I did too! til I worked there! I was like what are you doing with the shampoo lol

  • whoaa ! thank you so much ! :D

  • ;-) Thanks for the smile you gave me with your comment!!!

  • loved the lafin!!! ahahhah bless you,5 stars-10 if could :D x

  • Thank you Beautiful! Love you!!!

  • Camille is so funny! lol, I was laughing so bad! :-D

  • I love you! I am so happy I made you laugh!

  • haha you had me laughing with you at the beginning!!! sooo funny!!!

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • yeah i recon you could use hand wash too!
