I find it easy to draw a "elvish" type of drawing, it's far less complex, I find it much harder to draw the type of monsters you draw, so complex, so much detail.

the way the explained how copying or creating your own design made perfect sense to me. drawing something which already exists and putting it in a different pose if difficult since the body may end up looking unnatural compared to how the design of the creature/person actually looks, but when you create something of your own you cannot be wrong at all.

If your looking for inspiration to draw a faerie type creature some stories about them are pretty brutal they hypnotize wandering humans with singing and chanting then would get them to dance with them around fires until the peoples legs bled and broke & they died from starvation/fatigue.

And in some fables they only look beautiful because they trick people with illusions to hide that they look monstrous
