  • March 20/21 is the Sping exouenox. Meaning the entire earth gets the same amount of daylight and the same amount of drakness. All 12 hrs.

  • @Astromchaser Yep, though the center of the sun is above the horizon for 12 hours, it's path in the sky means that we have very, very long twilight. On the equinox, that means we can do outdoor stuff without needing artificial light from 7am to 9pm. (contrast that with, oh, say "Panama" where it's from 6a to 650a)

  • oops, that was 6:00a to 6:50p :)

  • this is awesome

  • That is very pretty, thanks for posting it.

  • Is it daylight pretty much all day there?

  • Not yet. Right now sunrise is at 9:23, sunset at 4:27. However, we're gaining ~6min 47sec a day. By late march the large amount of daylight will be very noticeable, and by May it'll seem light all the time...

  • @volcanowatcher So far for us sunrise is around 7:15 and sunset is around 4:25. Can't wait till spring. So far thats only 8hrs 10 min of daylight. In the summer we get 17.5 hrs of daylight.
