@charlietango33 The more fat you burn the closer you get your layer of muscle showing. If you do enough reps it can burn calories but I would eat right and do cardio for instead. Use difficult resistance or weight to make your muscles grow. Because the harder you work the more growth hormone you produce, that's the muscle. Doing lower reps for alot of repetitions is more of a cardio, muscle stress produces Growth Hormone and the best way to produce growth hormone is to do a total body workout.
