  • stay away form protland oregon its the worste place ever i been to 19 states and this is the worstest place ever ,,,EVER,,,,,,,

  • very nice. Thumbs up

  • old video lol the saturday market isnt under the bridge anymore

  • Stay off max it's not safe

  • Burnside and Stark street are named after businessmen...not military officers...I thought that sounded fishy so I looked it up. Benjamin Stark was a merchant and politician in Oregon, and Dan Burnside was a local businessman.

  • ha ha we have tons more than one volcano, extinct or not... Uh, we have more than any city in the continental US (only Hawaii has more) and we are smack dab on top of the Boring Lava Field, so we have not just volcanoes but vent holes all over the place. Check it out. Don't forget our other famous volcanoes - Mt Hood, Mt Tabor, Mt Scott, list goes on. Plus we're on several earthquake faults, so the city is seismically not too safe..

  • What kind of camera is that?

  • oldest camera ever

  • i want help about any hotel is cheap in portland

  • I just love downtown Portland, OR. That is, when nobody tries to ask you for cigarettes on the streets.

  • FALSE: "Known as "The Rose City", Portland is the only American city that has an extinct volcano within its city limits. "

Hawaii has several active and non-active volcanoes.

  • @n1starr Also I don't think Burnside, Stark, and the rest of those streets were named after military officers...haha.

  • vary vary nice;)

  • Portland is the Munich (Germany/Bavaria) of the USA. Therefore, it's a GREAT place...

  • 0:03 HOLY SHIT IM LOST! D: :b

  • You can smoke weed in public and no one cares. The police are hated here so they don't care to police the city. Bums and drug addicts come here from every else cause there are free food and money for them. The city and county taxes the normal working citizen so the transients can have housing, medical care and even free dog chips and shots for their pets as well. Transients love it here because you can not go hungry, they give you money as well and to top it off put you in a home.

  • @MrHOOPER70 Yeah...wayyyy too many bums, and it's only getting worse.

  • I'm moving to portland Is it anything I need to look out for? I'm moving to milwauke oregon I am coming from memphis tennessee I seen the videos it is a wonderful place I love the nature and downtown.

  • Good video but this city is economically dead and has been since early 2009 and no one wants to say we are in a depression when we are. The REAL unemployment rate among people laid off when the depression started in late 2008 or early 2009 is at least 50% or more according to internet research. No one cares and the employment department or VR could care less. Got laid off when the call center worked for at 6th and Alder outsourced to another area and I canot get another job doing anything.

  • I like that music, no, I love it

  • I have lived in Portland for a year due to my exchange!! I just loved it there and miss it every day

  • it the perfect town nobody judges not to big not to small very clean not to far from the moutains and the terrific people

  • seems so peaceful

  • holler, bill evans

  • I would add that there is abundant beautiful architecture all around downtown. Many of the side walks are beautiful brick instead of drab slab concrete. It makes a difference.

  • Me gusta Portland en su downtown debido a la gran cantidad de espacios verdes y el elevado numero de tiendas de todo genero.

  • Thanks for the viideo! A beautiful city with friendly people

  • hey Surfdawg5 U should be here during Christmas time the International Raceway and the Portland Zoo do the christmas lights

  • alright if u guys want to visit here dont go to north portland with unlocked doors ok and if youre white and in north port dont go to 7/11 at fucking midnight

  • Yeah Portland has its homeless but what city doesn't? So Portland isn't perfect but I love it and it is a great city to live in. I love the Northwest. The air is cleaner, and we rarely get hit with Natural disasters. Also Portland is second Greenest city in the WORLD. I believe if you give it a chance you'll change your mind.

  • Thanks for posting the vid.. i thought i could move to Portland from CA but seeing this I know I can't...would never adjust.

  • portland is a wonderful place, lived here my whole life :) i think everyone needs to experience it

  • @JaneWonderfallss I don't think the job market is bad, just depends on what kind of job you're looking for. There are SOOO many different places to work in Portland. I'm sure you'd find something.

  • @klonekollector He probably caught it at soup kitchen time. xD

  • @YoungSurvivalNW yeah like homos, hobos, vatos, & racist popos!

  • @BlackSN8K Well walk across the bridge to the POOR part of town, and you'll find all the convenience stores to rob and black friends to drink malt liquor with. Fuckin jig.

  • @brapboys503 hey stop fucking stalking me you weird Portland fag!

go masturbate at Powell's Book Store or something, at least you'll be doing something with your life in Portland!

  • @BlackSN8K Stalking you? Strong words for the keyboard warrior. Don't come to Portland if you don't fucking like it. I don't even read many books, save for the Chilton's manuals I read, so don't fucking assume. Not every person in Portland is the same.

  • @brapboys503 seems like it- even if they're online they are all the same!...

  • WE want to start a co-ed homeless shelter for vets, couples, and singles

    (503)-544-5923

This is a call for those who are in need, know of any who are in need,or those who are able to provide out of the surplus of their blessings.

  • portland, very beautiful.... someone needs to kill all those crackhead pieces of shit, though.

  • cant wait to be in Portland, I hate where I'm at now and no I don't mind seeing innocent helpless homeless. God bless them all

  • you forgot to mention that a lot of the Simpson's characters are named after streets in Portland! :)

  • Portland if the best city in the world!!! I lived there for 13 years but then my dad made my family move to PA/OH and it sucks here there not a good vibe here unlike in Portland.

  • great video. plus the music matches with the video :]

  • For some reason, this reminded me of those videos that used to be on Mr. Rogers, where he'd watch the video in the picture frame. I think it was the music that made me think of that...

  • I was living in portland for 3 years i came back to NYC. Portland is full of homeless and losers dreaming of working in a coffee house (starbucks) and doing marijuana and meth. There's no tourists cause downtown is full of lazzy american drunks and drug addicts. Thanks god i left that filthy city.

  • @juancamex good riddance

  • @juancamex At least we don't have Planes crashing in are buildings!!!

  • @Lopee08 That's true but also because you don't have buildings.....and nothing.

  • @juancamex I bet you're that kind of person that looks at a rose and only notices the thorns. I'm glad you fucked off, I hope you took your half-empty glass with you. Now there's more room for good optimistic people like me. GOOD RIDDANCE! You whiney little bitch.

  • @LoudProudNPunk1 HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, you can say whatever you want, but Portland sucks. What kind of "name" is that?? Loud Proud Punk1"????? Very Portland. Loser.... Have fun in Homeless land. I'm enjoyning the vast culture in New York City. Bye.

  • @juancamex

You call Portland homeless town filled with meth users, yet you live in NYC...lol...the city with the most homeless in the nation.

And as for the "you don't have buildings" comment, it's a bit ignorant to judge a city by it's skyline haha and i assume you don't know why the skyline is so low. It's to preserve a view of Mt. Hood.

Anyway, there is a bunch of things to do in Portland...you are obviously just a tourist that didn't know where to go. lol

  • @BreeBreeOoink I don't really know why everybody is sooo mad at me. Anyone in Portland knows this is true. Anyone in Portland knows that in Burnside between broadway and 3rd st. (downtown) is where all the lazy homeless live, even on the burnside bridge. Everybody knows that, and if somebody here don't know it, so they don't live in Portland. So maybe all this people answer my comments are homeless themselves. Good Luck.

  • @juancamex shit, i live in missouri and been there twice in my life... nothing but crackheads and bums.. i agree.

  • @juancamex Nothing wrong with a bit of weed, Meth is another story......horrible stuff.

  • I love you,Portland! I lived in Seattle for 5 years and used to visit the rose city by car.

all cities have its bad neighbourhoods where the lowlifes live.I'm a decent guy and wherever I live,I try hard to be a good citizen not only in the city, but also in my community.I'm considering the idea of moving to Portland so that I can drive and enjoy the splendid scenery from the city to Cannon Beach.

  • wonder what year this was ?? it was done on VHS due to the lines you see in the picture from time to time. Tried to gage from some cars and was thinking mid to late 90's

  • Don't forget the rock! Modest Mouse, the Decemberists, Everclear and more.

  • some good music comes out of portland, electronica-wise.

  • I've heard many great things about Portland, it's def one of the cities I want to visit in the future

  • @havinthangs55 it is a great town, or should i say metro. As you probably know, it's the biggest city in Oregon with around 550,000 according to the 2010 census. The skyline is awesome and the best view of Mt. Hood ever.

  • ahhhh. portland. beautifull....:)

  • great!!! burnside skatepark wow amazing one of the best!!

  • my home town! born in this glorious and city and im plannin on dying in it!

ps, ive lived here my whole life and never noticed the fact about the streets being named after military officers. thats crazy

  • same I love it here dude!!!

  • Hows the skateboarding scene out there?!

  • perfect.
