i can answer your psp go question. people buy psp go to hack the old firmware that comes with it. so it makes sense to just download games without umds. so it's a big money saver. and of course it's expensive. but in some way it's worth it. but to me not that exciting on the cost price.
What i heard was that the psp go was just basically a "demo" console to give people an overall idea if the coming psp 2 (ngp) because that relies on digital distribution also. But that was stating later than this video.

the psp go is only really good if you are willing to keep your psp 3000 to keep playing your umd games, or if you are going to sell your old psp or if you are just getting a psp for the first time. the PSP 3000 & Go run the same games, the concept of a store that allows only one version to download content is ridiculous. It's called playstation Network, and pretty much any Playstation console with download ability can access it, whether its handheld or a big machine. the PSP and PSPgo can both download the same games from there, and access the store the SAME WAY.
however how much you can download is limited by your memory and how much you can spend. PSPgo has a 16GB internal memory, Normal PSP's, No where near it!! theyd use expensive memory cards to compensate. what you do is you can use a credit card or just buy PSN (playstation Network) cards in stores, its like a gift card with a balance of either $30 or $50 dollars, you add the code from it your account and it gives you credit to the cards value to buy and download full games and whatever else.
you got it wrong buddy, the only thing the PSP 3000 can do that a Go can't is run UMD's. i was worried at first but when i bought one and some PSN cards, two 50 dollar ones and a 30, i realised its so fucking easy. access to a ton of games, not a select few shops choose to display. The Go's screen is smaller.. your right, BUT it keeps the same pixel rate, and the pixels are just smaller and more compact.. giving a sharper image.
Dont forget, the Go has bluetooth and a better type of memory card, 16GB internal memory and its lighter. You can't use lack of UMD's as an excuse anymore, relying on discs, its like the walkman, who carries a walkman with CD's around still?most people have ipods and other mp3 players, its the same with the Go & 3000.yes, the 3000 can play downloaded content too, but you will need to buy a shitload of those little memory cards, in the end you'll be paying as much as you would for a Go or more.
last but not least it's called a PSPgo because its made for use On-the-go, its lighter, smaller and easily pocketed. if size isnt an issue and your just gonna play it at home then get an actual console. with older psp's theres no way your gonna fit the device with all your UMD's comfortably in one pocket. its still portable but not easy to carry around.
$250 is cheap, over here in Australia thats how much a stand alone PSP 3000 is. . people with older PSP's wanna focus more on the negatives to outweigh any sense of feeling ripped off /outdated. the idea of the go is that its alot more portable, any other PSP you need more then just a pocket to lug around your games and console and whatever else. this things small and easy. keep ya 3000 if u got a few UMD's..but the Go's nice. we are no were close to the digital era. A lot of people dont feel comfortable putting their credit card info in. Also alot of people like having the main disk. itself. also the knowing of you losing all of your data if you hardrive crashes

So say that u want to download some games from the PSN and u want IDK about 16GB, for the PSP 1000-3000 u will need four 4GB memory cards so u want to carry around 4 memory cards.

The PSP Go is a big fat ripoff with a smaller screen and the USB connector is proprietary. U failed to realize all the features on the PSP GO. It has 16g memory which u stated by u can get 2g and/or more. Then u can pause the game just by clicking the PS button. Yes, as long as you log into PSN on a PSP Go with the same PSN ID. You can use the same ID on up to five machines and re-download anything you've already purchased.

ill tell you what bluetooth is good for. im an avid camper and i have a 10" portable dvd player with video inputs, i can now take my ps3 controler camping with me, hook my psp up to my portable screen, lay back in bed and play video games before i go to sleep. its a dream, no joke. plus the psp go is the frist true portable psp system.

Hey Craig. I think you are exactly right... the PSP Go is some cool hardware but the pricepoint is just ridiculous. At $200 it would be a much better value proposition, especially compared to the existing PSP platform.
I think you're really wise and I agree with you're opinion. I own a PSP go and is great but if u have slim or a 3000 with lots of games u shouldn't get a PSP go its a waste of money. And like U said the older ones can do the same the go does plus has UMD drive.
I was thinking about getting it since I have no PSP but DS and DSi, but the price is just too high. Plus, the game library is vastly cut since it is digital download only. I also hear the games take like 2 hours + to download, and I would rather just go drive to gamestop or best buy and get a UMD.

The reason i got the psp go was because my original psp 1000 that i had has about two games, (i was using the nds a lot more.
So that collection library wouldnt have gone to waste. But if i had a lot of psp 1000-3000 games, i wouldnt have gotten it

If you have a 2000 or 1000, i would get a GO.
The pspgo has a built in mic. 2000 and 1000 does not. PSPgo has more memory than any psp thousand model can have right now.
IF you have a 3000, you shouldnt see the point becuase the 3000 has a built in mic.

the psp go is only really good if you are willing to keep your psp 3000 to keep playing your umd games, or if you are going to sell your old psp or if you are just getting a psp for the first time. I still like the psp 1000 the best... sure there was the fact the the early models had their messed up motherboard or something like that, and the edges were a bit too squared, but i just really liked the new fab you know?

(4) price, 250 is cheap, we pay 400 here in AUS.if your allready paying a few hundred why not go a tiny bit more. if you add up the memory cards you'll need to buy and extras to equal the PSPgo you'll be paying as much if not more anyway/ quit with the bs reasons not to buy it which you have clearly not researched. i take it you dont know alot about PSP's..
the PSP 3000 & Go run the same games, the concept of a store that allows only one version to download content is ridiculous. It's called playstation Network, and pretty much any Playstation console with download ability can access it, whether its handheld or a big machine. the PSP and PSPgo can both download the same games from there, and access the store the SAME WAY.

however how much you can download is limited by your memory and how much you can spend. PSPgo has a 16GB internal memory, Normal PSP's, No where near it!! theyd use expensive memory cards to compensate. what you do is you can use a credit card or just buy PSN (playstation Network) cards in stores, its like a gift card with a balance of either $30 or $50 dollars, you add the code from it your account and it gives you credit to the cards value to buy and download full games and whatever else.

you got it wrong buddy, the only thing the PSP 3000 can do that a Go can't is run UMD's. i was worried at first but when i bought one and some PSN cards, two 50 dollar ones and a 30, i realised its so fucking easy. access to a ton of games, not a select few shops choose to display. The Go's screen is smaller.. your right, BUT it keeps the same pixel rate, and the pixels are just smaller and more compact.. giving a sharper image.

Dont forget, the Go has bluetooth and a better type of memory card, 16GB internal memory and its lighter. You can't use lack of UMD's as an excuse anymore, relying on discs, its like the walkman, who carries a walkman with CD's around still?most people have ipods and other mp3 players, its the same with the Go & 3000.yes, the 3000 can play downloaded content too, but you will need to buy a shitload of those little memory cards, in the end you'll be paying as much as you would for a Go or more.

last but not least it's called a PSPgo because its made for use On-the-go, its lighter, smaller and easily pocketed. if size isnt an issue and your just gonna play it at home then get an actual console. with older psp's theres no way your gonna fit the device with all your UMD's comfortably in one pocket. its still portable but not easy to carry around.

$250 is cheap, over here in Australia thats how much a stand alone PSP 3000 is. . people with older PSP's wanna focus more on the negatives to outweigh any sense of feeling ripped off /outdated. the idea of the go is that its alot more portable, any other PSP you need more then just a pocket to lug around your games and console and whatever else. this things small and easy. keep ya 3000 if u got a few UMD's..but the Go's nice. Only problem for right now is the lack of games on the Network which is kinda retarded Sony. PSP 1000-3000 only have memory sticks up to 4 maybe 6GB. PSP GO comes with !^GB internal memory. So say that u want to download some games from the PSN and u want IDK about 16GB, for the PSP 1000-3000 u will need four 4GB memory cards so u want to carry around 4 memory cards.

The PSP Go is a big fat ripoff with a smaller screen and the USB connector is proprietary. It takes forever to download a game even if you have fast internet, and you need broadband or better to even use it.

Yes, as long as you log into PSN on a PSP Go with the same PSN ID. You can use the same ID on up to five machines and re-download anything you've already purchased.

I was thinking about getting it since I have no PSP but DS and DSi, but the price is just too high. Plus, the game library is vastly cut since it is digital download only. I also hear the games take like 2 hours + to download, and I would rather just go drive to gamestop or best buy and get a UMD.
