The comic and the movie are both masterpieces. The comic was able to go more in depth, but I don't believe they could have made a better film than this one. This is not a comic or a movie for kids. The content and the thoughts are too advanced. Marvelous!

first of all, this movie should have never been made. a hollywood watchmen movie simply cannot work. they over-stylized it, and dumbed it down for a larger audience against the original author's wishes. just read the comic if you have 3 or so hours on your hands. the thing was written to show that it was unfilmable, and that comics can do things that movies can't.

and malin ackerman can't act if her life depended on it.

In a way, yes, your right. The ONLY possible way they could have fit everything into the movie wa to make more than one movie. Like a trilogy or something.

But I never read the comic until a few days ago. I saw the movie first. I liked it. It was good. The only thing I DIDN'T like was Malin. She just isn't that great. Average at best. Whenever I heard her voice, and the way she talks, I kept thinking of Drew Barrymore for some reason. And thats not a good thing.

And I wouldn't say they over-stylized it. Its really that they tried to make it LOOK like the comic, which might seem like a good Idea, but really backfired. It looked to much like it. It was just, "WATCHMEN: THE LIVE ACTION RECREATION MINUS ALOT OF STUFF"

But I liked it. Definitly not as good as the comic, but I knew it wouldn't be. I didn't even read the comic yet, and I knew it would be better than the movie.

They're kinda not comparable. A movie and a comic differs in so many things. Only thing you can compare is the story, which kinda is the same.

Well originally the people making it knew they wouldnt be able to please the fans or include all of the comic content. I mean just think of all the money it would cost and how long the movie would be. I mean its like book to movie situations. Your not going to be able to fit it because there is simply too much. They remained faithful (unlike resident evil crap movies) So at least give them the decency of a good job rather than keep complaining.

Agree with godthatwasfunny4567. I read the comics like 2 years ago so I was really excited for this movie. Alan Moore is such a great writer, and comic is pretty deep with human nature and things of that sort. The film adaptation was different than what I thought but far exceeded what I thought could be done on this story. Great film, even better comic.
