I like that Lil Move at The 1:21 Mark. Point to someone in The Crowd ("Hey Glad You're Here") to distract The Ball Handler and then quickly move in for The Steal.
@youdontknowboutLSU i'm not cmparing him to 'most 6' players'.. i'm comparing him to the rim.. and the truth is even in his prime.. he could barely get up over the rim.. and compared to other dunk contestants over the years he ranks among the lowest.. but like i said, dude could play
@baldheadkid well, i'm not comparing him to the rim, i'm comparing him to most 6' players. he couldn't pull off Vince Carter dunks but he did have hops for his size. Agree, dude could play.
@streetking225 depends on how you define better different era three point line and shooting percentages win loss / lsu will ride pete maravich's legend like a horse forget shaq and rick
The most highly touted freshmen guards, who in essence were one and done in college like John Wall, Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans...... their numbers don't even come close to the numbers CJ put on the board.
@massive100- Pete didn't play as a freshman, freshman weren't allowed to play back then. He played his sophomore year as a first year player. Chris Jackson was the best freshman next to Carmelo Anthony..
This guy was unstoppable in college. He's the best college player I've ever personally seen. I didn't see Pistol Pete or Bird or any of the older guys in college so I'm talking about during my lifetime.
Chris was simply the best scorer I have ever seen in college. He had the whole package: quick release, killer crossover, 40 inch plus vertical, range and court vision. He should have been a star in the NBA.
sorry you cant compare anybody to this guy, he was simply the best 6'0 guard to ever play college basketball. He worked on his shot from dusk to dawn, nobody had his work ethic. I watch his college games on dvd all the time.
Chris Jackson played college when I was in high school and I remember this guy being one of the greatest college players ever. No one could guard him, but it didn't matter, he could throw it in from any angle or spot on the court. The quickest shot release around. Similar to Chris Paul, but more dominating.
Great college player and a very solid NBA player. He is one of the greats of LSU basketball along with Bob Pettit, Pete Maravich, Stanley Roberts, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, and of course the Diesel Shaquille O'neal.
He was easily my favorite college player. I'm not afraid to say that I wanted to be a lot like him although I passed a lot more and shot a lot less. LSU had the best camp that I had gone to. You just couldn't touch Mahmoud. None of the Georgia Tech guards could hold a candle to him. Even now, no one is close in terms of scoring. They are good freshmen but still not even close. Tieuel Legacy! aka Shawnre'
CJ was just injured most of his NBA career. broken bones in his foot spelled out the decline very fast. I wouldnt say he was as good as AI, but he was definitely as electrifying at his height for the Tigers
THE FLYING ILLINI, You had a dope ass GEORGETOWN TEAM Mutumbo and Mourning first time together! , JAY EDWARDS & BARRY GOHEEN were both clutch shooters. It was just a fun time as a kid to watch hoops.
Dude i'm a die ahrd LSU fan man! I should of gone to the National CHampionship, but my dad took my older sister instead, it was so gay, but Chris jackson is so beast, GEAUX TIGERS!!
I thought i was the only one who did that lol i also patterned my game like him also and it was a unique style to try to perfect cause you had to have range and especially a quick release!
there was a guy named Rashad Phillips from detroit mercy played just like jackson.....he is now in Australia playing for the Perth wildcats follow him....AMAZING
Just to set the record straight; as a freshman he averaged 30.2 point per game and 28 as a sophomore. We all agree he could shot the lights out but have you noticed how well he handled the ball? His pocket was unpickable.
true ...he got out played in da tourney by tim hardaway. But props due though he was unstoppable saw him play againsts Loyola Marymount, Georgtown, g- tech..Chris Jackson was awesome with a capital AWE
He prolly could've been more well known if he'd stay in LSU for more than just one year. He was the most underrated scoring machine in LSU back then. If he stayed for a few more years along with Shaq, A possible championship team could've been born.
He was shunned by the NBA, he didn't just quit..and def. not for religion. After his contract was over, it was like a wall was up keeping him from signing with a new team.
Probably the greatest college basketball guard that nobody talks about. He was unstoppable. Truly one of the elite scorers in college basketball history.
