Don't you see? This game is essentially a remake of super mario world with some hints of super mario bros 2 (hence the POW blocks and picking things up). It's truly a stroke of genius.

Hey, I noticed something! Remember back in SMW, when you would ride Yoshi, it would play a remix of the level theme,(sounded like drums), well, they brought it back!!!

While the game looks beautiful, and will most likely be very fun, did anyone else realize they pretty much use the same damn bg music for every level? that's going to get real annoying...

Well they could at least go all out when making something like this. Let's see, as playable characters, let throw in Mario, Luigi, and....oh! how bout two generic toads? For god's sake. How fun would it have been to play as Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi? At least then the "competition" aspect would make more sense.
And as far as the music goes, times are changing. Having the same tune throughout the entire game is lame, and you probably think the same way.
