I knew and played with Steve Noonan in 1967 after he recorded his record with Elektra. He taught me how to play "Waltzing Matilda" on acoustic guitar. From the look of this video he is still playing the same D-18. I was with a band called the Soft White Underbelly in Stony Brook, Long Island. Noonan was friends with Jackson and with Tim Buckley. He deserved a much better career than he got but it's good to find him here after so many years. His playing is still great.
I need to say that the last line and this tune has been stuck in my mind for many many years. Gravestones cheer the living dear they are no use to the dead. Brutal, honest truthful poetry. Very few lyrics strike so much emotion, and these strike a perfect chord. Its an honor to be able to see you perform this song, I only wish I could see it live! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Hey David thanks - where can I find this video - what search criteria can I give others to find it - lots of stuff up here - thanks again - how did you like the other 2 videos?

Great performances, Steve. All the time we worked together I never got the chance to see you play. I forwarded this video to Chester Hipple :-)
