I just got back from Russia. I spent 7 weeks there. My sister works at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
We also visited Kazakhstan. Her husband, Erlan, is from Shymkent. We visited his family and ate delicious shashlikh that was cooked and prepared EXACTLY like your video!
On my last day in Moscow, we ate at a halal restaurant at the Cherkizovsky market. It was delicious with vinegar sauce and ground red peppers!
I miss it quite a bit. I'm back in the states now.
