hey there! i have a question. i really wanna buy the x8 but... i need to know if it has phantom power so i can hook up a condensor microphone to it to vocal record. im prety sure you can hook up a mic but i dont know about a condensor mic so let me know man if it has phantom power or not and if i can. thanks alot! god bless

Hi' I really don't know. I have hooked a mic to it and it did record along with on board effects you can add. Check with the Roland site in their FAQ guestion side' -Bless U'

Yes, you can hook a mic up to the Fantom. Just make sure that you have an XLR to 1/4 inch jack adapter. Have fun.

pwrlifter69: by now, a year later, you probably are well aware of the answer to your question: No, the Fantom-X does *not* have phantom power available on the keyboard for a phantom-powered condensor mic. The Fantom G does, however.

No du' I've listened to all of those sounds of those cards from the Roland site. They are awesome but too high in money for my blood! lol' I have enough in this keyboard to last me for years. Praise the Lord, I don't play the organ or piano but would you say if you know how to play a piano the skills transfer to the organ?

Yes but I suggest strongly that you get use to playing the piano in chords and scales in all keys then transfer to the organ. Then you can slowly learn the bass pedals without looking down at your feet and without trying to learn how to play all at the same time. Bless you'
