I have a pair from around 1988. They sound real good...probably not the best but the Koss lifetime warranty is what makes them standout from others.

Have broke mine twice over the years and both times Koss has repaired them free of charge. Amazing service.

I personally tried both sennheiser 100 ii and koss portapro,Conclusion,px100 ii have better vocal compared to portapro,but both have excellent bass.i will go for the sennheiser px 100 ii.IMO..

These headphones are pretty awesome. Not the best of the best, but pretty amazing for the price you pay. Bass is pretty decent on it too. I've had mine for 5 years now. Still working great. But I recently bought the Shure SE-535V. :P

Mod it bro. Cut holes in the foam pads, and also the protective plastic around the drivers. It releases the sound and makes it clearer.

Hmm... I've been looking into buying a decent pair of headphones for a while and your review is pretty persuasive. I bought some Skullcandy G.I phones and within a couple months they snapped in half (T.T). So ever since I've been looking for a really sturdy pair of headphones to replace them, since earbuds really get on my nerves. I really like the look of these! I dig the metallic-80's-retro look!

You could get better bass out of small earbud headphones! I know,the bass is acually worse on those.but because the sound goes straight into your ear,the sound just sounds better! xD

They ARE designed VERY bassy, but not just the usual light boomy 200hz nonsense from others, the bottom end has true extension, so all you need is a little eq to tame the low mids a bit if you want. Mids/highs are clear and NOT lost in the bass. You can drive these things to incredible volume without distortion - they just get louder and pound you harder!:) Probably one of the best phones for portable devices, which tend to be bass shy, especially in noisier environs.

Since these are open ear headphones (the earcups don't wrap around your entire ear) sound from the headphones drivers are able to escape (leak) out of the earcups and into the air. It kinda sucks lol.
