@harrietkane Actually, it's not. At least, not the beginning. The announcer lists the name of the actors in this one (she only said, "The cast of Next to Normal..." in the real one). If you also hear closely, Alice went along fine with the beat (in the real one, she was slightly off with the beat. This is probably the sound people's fault though, because it was happening all night). But granted, they might have used some footage from this rehearsal and mixed it in with the real one.

@harrietkane They were probably practicing how they were going to do the shots...When I've been filmed on stage, they do that on the dress rehearsel sometimes.

I'm watching the shadows on the wall (left). They play out as if in a scene all their own. Check out when she sings, "When the world that once had color fades to white and gray and black..." and the lights go off there and "she" disappears.

It's probably because she could hear at the rehearsal. The sound for the actual show was awful the whole night.
