  • at 20:00 what was that sound?

  • captain kirk jeff :D

  • huge difference between legal and lawfull!!! People need to understand that, it will help in the aftermath:)

  • Christ, like 15 uploads today, huh?!

  • Moral of the story: Beauty is only face deep. XD

  • boxing + brass knuckles

  • 4. if possible, and there are no witnesses or cameras, kill your opponent. that way there'll be only one side of the story in case there's a trial

    5. never talk to the police. the only thing you say is that you demand to talk to a lawyer, apart from that, REFUSE TO MAKE ANY STATEMENT.

  • couple of points

    1. never ever show your knife. try to deescalate, but when someone really attacks you, and your life is on the line, you pull your knife and use it, as stealthily as possible. your opponent can't take something from you that he doesn't know you have.

    2. carry a really bright flashlight. a flashlight and knife go well together. you can blind your opponent and he will have a much harder time seeing your knife.

    3. carry a cheap chinese folder to plant on your opponent's body

  • Well said "The Art of Fighting without fighting" But just wanna add, to be very aware while stepping away from your opponent and be ready to defend just in case. Learn self defense basics like "Kali" will help.

  • I would like to hear your views on throwing knives please :)

  • haha "loose their cookies" :D

  • Hey Jeff, I prefer the classic ice pick in the ear tactic.....

  • hey jeff i dont mean this in any rude way but im in human anatomy at my high school and i have to correct you just because its one of my pet peeves but in your forearm what your talking about are the tendons on the bottom of your forearm were you can see you veins ligaments are bone to bone tissue. and if you dont believe me make a fist and but pressure on the veins and try to open your hand but dont put to much pressure or it will hurt thumbs up so he can see

  • @HDxZ0mBIE pout your ringers across the TOP of your arm and wiggle your fingers...or open an anatomy book

  • @cutlerylover lol yes i understand were you get that from but thats your muscle flexing think about it this way relax your hand do your fingers close in towards your palms? yes should be the answer because the ligaments in your finger tips wrap all around your fingers and you are partially right they are on top of your hand but then they reach the flexor retinaculum and go under the arm and ofcourse i mean all of this in a non offensive way your like someone i look up to you

  • @HDxZ0mBIE I hear what your saying but disgree

  • @cutlerylover okay i wont get butt hurt like a bunch of other ignorant people on youtube i respect your opinion.

  • @cutlerylover hes saying the tendons specific to griping on object are on the inside they are small and go from muscle to muscle. and the ones specific to opening your hand are on the outside/backside of your hand wrist and are more elongated. i would agree with the instinctual shock to the system method, tendons or not.

  • @HDxZ0mBIE I'm pretty sure you'd be screwed whether they cut the flexors or the extensors.

  • @K1RKH4MM3T ehhh more or less ya i agree with that haha

  • @cutlerylover exactly...

  • @HDxZ0mBIE high school anatomy, woahhhh big man on campus

  • @MeLlamoBradly yea you still learn about everything in the body

  • @cutlerylover can you do a talk on home defense with a gun or knife. I live in the UK and so i legally own shotguns. If you could do that, I would be greatful. Keep up the great videos

  • personal opinion. if you think your going to use a knife for the purpose of self defense, get one that can be used tactically but does not look like it, like an all black one would not look as good in court as one with a blue handle or something.

  • Lynn Thompson from Cold Steel has good knife skills watch?v=Ruj-4ITAkfI , Larry Wick or The Dog Brothers are good too. Look for the torrents

  • A person who can slash someone numerous times will appear much more heartless than someone who shoots someone in self defense. Rightly or wrongly the act of slashing/stabbing requires a "special type of person" that will not look good among their peers. The first thing you should do after defending your life is call 911 and ask for an ambulance for the threat you stopped not the person you just killed.

  • If your life is truly in danger than shoot them center mass in the chest with a good quality hollow point in at least a 9mm and you will have a much greater chance of survival than by being within a couple feet of someone and slashing them in a figure eight motion with a knife. A knife would be better than nothing for sure.

  • People on meth and pcp and drunk may not have the same "oh my god my nose is hanging off my face" thoughts. If at first they don't know they have been slashed then that means that is just more time for them to attack you. I can vouch for that as I've been cut deep and it really didn't hurt nearly that bad. In a court of law I think you would look much worse haven permanently disfigured someones face than having stabbed them in the chest because you truly thought your life was in danger.

  • Jeff, have you ever been in a fight or jumped? I'm in Los Angles county and most "bar fights" one of his friends is gonna hit you from the side, then all his friends jump on you and half the bar/club turns into a fight. If you're gonna stab someone there is VERY little chance that you're gonna be able to aim shots and hit where you want and slash and move and dance LMAO! And by the way, telling people to aim for the head/face is fuckin dumb. If you disfigure someone it's called MAYHEM! SMH.

  • @TruthBeTold2K Easy enough solution, don't go into bars and get into bar fights.

Most law abiding citizens aren't going to find themselves in the middle of a bar fight trying to defend themselves..

  • i carry 3 knives right? a balisong stubby, an mtech and a sog. i feel if i was to use it on someone, i'd use the balisong, because the blade is only 2 inches, minimizing damage. what do you think jeff?

  • @mujari not a knife defense guy, but i doubt a 2 inch blade would be able to stop anything. lot's of people stop simply because they see a large knife flashing before their face. also, if your in a self defense situation i would assume you had your life threatened- of which you should gladly yank out the biggest blade you've got and try to defend yourself.

  • @mujari two inches could kill someone easly

  • on the asp topic for anyone who has one but may not know how to use it, if you are in that situation always aim for the knee, why the knee, because your attacker is alive but suppressed that is what they taught my father at the KSP to do.

  • Thanks Jeff, I hope that I never ever will have too !

  • Hey ,jef , what do i do if i pull up a knife and their are multiple enemys???

  • One other thing about slashes to the abdomen is that clothes can often stop them, or significantly reduce their effectiveness, even if your knife is super sharp.

  • Theres a person here on YT that is in my opinion, a great teacher of more or less self defense. And usually with a bladed tool or sticks. His channel name is: wmpyr

Go check out his channel. Its really informative and he's a nice guy.

Great vid btw Jeff! Thanks for all the helpful info with ALL of your vids!

  • A flick of the wrist can do amazing things.

As far as I know, most of those laws, vary from state-sate as well. Like Jeff said DO YOU R OWN HOMEWORK/RESEARCH!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • thanks

  • as a young soldier in early'70s drinking in a bar called shirley's cave in the basement of a partially condemned hotel in agusta georgia i witnessed a razor fight over a woman a GI,and a local. the GI used a box knife, the local a straight razor both men's clothing was shredded and hanging off them pants included and both almost bled out standing there after, they fought till they couldn't move from blood loss covered in cuts both had tendon cuts needing surgery arms, chests, legs, hands,a hot mess

  • Im christian but if anyone attacks me they're getting fucked

  • @STKtaylor then you're not a christian. jesus clearly said when someone attacks you, turn the other cheek. if you go against that, you can't call yourself a christian.

  • @STKtaylor nice man, thumbs up

  • Kick ass-take names

  • @cutlerylover Thanks man, great vid!

  • 2 words: Limb Destruction!!!!!!

  • Yes to tags

  • Thanks a Lot Jeff

  • Very knowledgeable video, CL.

  • "Something's wrong! Check it out!"

    lmao

    Great video, Jeff. Very informative

  • answer to tags- yes

  • It seems to me that we are only ALLOWED to use deadly force when in actual fear of our life, or in protecting anothers, and of course there is the disparity of force issue: a male attacking a female, or an attack on an elderly person (65+). And since we are then in fear of our life, then we are NOT allowed to INTEND to JUST WOUND the attacker, otherwise there would seem to be a question of, "Were you REALLY IN FEAR OF YOUR LIFE" or were you just tring to avoig a beating.

  • U doin crack nigga? u lost a lot of weight!

  • @keltec556 nawh brah his getting swole as fuck

  • Jef, what would you do after you cut someone in a fight? Do you go to the police and say that you cut someone in a fight or do you leave it like that and look what happens next?

  • @1996arne after ANY fight call the police and tell them what happened, as youll get your side of the story 1`st...

  • @cutlerylover

    Shut up and call lawyer.

Talking to police is bad juju.

  • @1996arne You shut up and call police.

  • ... And your nose is FALLING OFF?!

  • Dear cutlerly lover,

Whatdo you think of the kershaw chive 1600?

  • is it legal in new hamshire to show a knife if you feel threatened?

  • @macstmanj3 Try to avoid the word "threatened" but rather think along the lines that you feared for the "safety of your life", and had to pull out a weapon to possibly defend yourself or a family member's life (or a friend or stranger). In other words, you didn't have a choice other than pulling out a lethal weapon (gun, knife, bat, hammer, etc). Whether U use it or not does not matter, but in a court of law you must JUSTIFY having to use a deadly weapon. (I live in MAO. Take care neighbor.

  • @macstmanj3 I meant to say macstonj3 that I live in Massachusetts. Did a typo. Oh, also Nashua, Manchester and Salem police seem to use a different and more stricter mindset regarding deadly weapons. (Sorry, but I think it's because they are similar in thought to the Republic of Massachusetts. Massachusetts sucks. Don't move here ever) Important thing to remember is that you need justification for using/presenting deadly weapons. Take care

  • @macstmanj3 not if the knife in question is legal for you to carry

  • present my knife in my strong hand while holding my weak hand out in front " back up, we are not going to do this !". hopefully that makes an impression. if not.........sushi time

  • @11:17, I don't want any part of a snake touching me.

  • @cutlerylover Hey, I am a shorter guy, any suggestions on what to do if I were to be facing a very tall threat, since my reach is less than most people?

  • @billyshob Bite them in the balls.

  • If you lacerate the femoral artery you can lost consciousnesses in like 12-30 seconds and bleed out in 2-3

  • So Jeff thinks because he's done what every old grandmother in the country used to do every day (kill an animal), he's got what it takes for armed combat? For the most part he seems like a very nice guy, but stuff like this makes him sound more fanboy than serious.

  • Good series...it was interesting when you pulled the knife in front of the camera and started doing slashing motions it made me want to defend myself...really weird, not used to having a knife in what seems like your face. Knife fighting is really brutal and I'm not sure everyone realizes how bloody it really would be. Great vids

  • Thank you i have made that decision that if its them or me they are not going to be walking away.

  • Do one of these videos with a gun

  • jeff i my country it is illegal to even carry a weapon but you can carry a stick yea if you are not trained with a stick but if you do mma like me you can defend your self in that manner :)

  • i'm scratching my neck, not itching. same with many of your other videos.

  • you need only retreat to the air behind your back

  • I prefer the Z as my cut

  • Nice vid. You're technique and choice of target is spot on. I will say that after the initial cut you should take an immediate step back, holding the knife in front of you, at face level, but not outstretched. This lets your attacker know that he's actually been cut (as opposed to just slapped or punched, as you mentioned), and it gives the blood a chance to flow. Atb TPD

  • I dont think I could ever use a knife abd slash someone. One time I was wrapping Xmas presents cut my finger deep saw blood and fainted

  • holy crap! we gotta fix this!

  • speaking of removing an attacker's vision, i remember in grade school i got into a fight right off the bat the other kid spit right into my eyes. I couldn't see anything for quite a while. Kind of a bitchy thing to do, but in a self defense situation, whatever gets the job done.

  • This is another stabbing story en. wikipedia. org/ wiki/ Jasper_Howard Or just google Jasper Howard

  • Here is a story of a tragic knife stabbing incident. I think it started as a shoulder bumping incident just like Jeff described, and a person was stabbed to death. sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4574560

  • @cutlerylover take a piece of paper suspend it from the ceiling and flick at it with a live blade

  • Tough situation. If the thief is demanding your wallet at knife point, and you pull your knife out, chances are you will get cut up as well as the thief. So it would probably be best if you just forked over you wallet. If the thief cut you after you were complying, perhaps that is the time to draw your knife out and fight back. Like Jeff says, try to avoid trouble, don't start it or escalate it. Be alert and don't get yourself into bad situations. Use good sense.

  • @Dasdfjkl A point to think about is whether or not your wallet is worth the medical bills that come from the fight.

  • use a watermollon!

  • Excellent video. This is sound advice, legally and ethically. The problem is, I think in my head, "yeah, that's exactly what I'll do." But, I know that if I ever had to defend my wife and kids, I would disable them, and probably kill them before I know what's happening. I may just all out stab them, or possibly not even get that far and fail miserably. Well, I hope I never have to, but I'll find out when I get there. You never know what will happen until the moment comes.

  • I know you were specifically talking about slash cuts, but if you stab you most definitely can go through a person's skull pretty easily (with a good knife).

Ugh.... not fun stuff to think about.

  • @martinaee you can most definitely bounce off it 50 times before you succeed. unless they are wedged into a vice or on a bed asleep, i dont think its worth bothering lol xP

  • "cutlery lover might make more videos on this subject let him know if it intrests you" haha your tags are always awesome, would love to see more videos on self defense with knives.

  • Links to the channels you reccomended please! I couldn't understand what you said.

  • Love the video. Love the information. I would love to see more! Mostly I'm just pissed off thanks to Canadian law it's very difficult to legally use a weapon defensively. Only as a tool.

  • more of these types of videos please!!!! broke sheepdogs need training to!

  • this is a great set of videos, u should do more of them

  • I think you're losing weight, Jeff. :)

  • If any of you guys are interested I've found this website to be a good resource: nononsenseselfdefense(dot)com

  • @SubDisease I love that site

  • I think I might could finish the job but I would most definitely vomit and faint after I had killed the individual and left a bloody mess

  • "never ever train with a sharp knife I don't care if your alone in a room or blah blah.." "take your sharp knife and slice, and you will be surprised by the cut" you just told me not to use a real knife?

  • @Euniceth not until you get the han g of it, you will need a sharp knife to see the results of the slash

  • @cutlerylover I sharpened my knife REALLY Sharp. i was impressed at how sharp I was able to get it. I had an old pair of shoes with very thick leather and multiple layers of padding. I decided to test how sharp this blade actually was- with very little force I managed to slash a surgically clean gash through all layers. If I continued I am sure I could cut the shoe in half with ease- and by ease I mean very little energy expended. it's amazing what a sharp knife can do

  • @cutlerylover wow, just wow. I guess it takes all kinds, huh?

eh, who am I to judge.

  • another thing to think about with a cut to the head...the eyes aren't the only "worst case"--you can really mess someone up if you hit one of the cranial nerves. Most of them are located pretty deep, or are in the optic canal or other places that if you hit, you've probably already killed them...but a few are in places like the corner of the jaw, the ear canal, the tongue, etc.

  • @roentgen571 it is still non leathal

  • @cutlerylover yeah, I didn't mean to say it was, or that hitting one would be worse than hitting the eyes. Just that there's more to consider than just the eyes...As I'm sure you're aware (you even mentioned it with the part about hitting the threatening hand), stabbing or cutting someone isn't just a trivial injury unless you hit a major vessel...there are a lot of things that you can cut that will do permanent damage--ligaments, tendons, nerves, etc. I was just adding to what you were saying.

  • Dude you've lost so much weight. Nice job man!

  • my grandfather always told me never pull a weapon if you dont know how to use it

  • I really hate it when people start taking about "what I would do" you really don't know what you would do until you are in that situation. I was one of those people too, "I would do this or that" then I was assaulted and I did not do those things I said I would or was trained to do, and something tells me Jeff you have just read about or heard or thought about these things not actually having to use any type of self defence, and I guarantee you wouldn't do what you say you would.

  • @nagromgreen in a defense situation I cna let my emotions go, and had been in a situation similar to that not defense...shirt version of the story was I saw a turkey eating another turkey alive, it was suffering I love animals but had no problem walking over to it grabbing its head and cutting it off to end its suffering, I dont care of the attackers children + wife are watching if I feel my lifes in danger I will turn into the animal we all are and be more brutal than I care to think about

  • @cutlerylover Turkey ninja... your next gobble could be your last. Turkey ninja... cranberry sauce with that ass kicking? Turkey ninja... set the table for... destruction!

  • @cutlerylover

So that explains the crazy tags in part 1 of 2!

    that is so freakin wierd

  • @cutlerylover Still thats not happening to you where your adrenaline is spiking your legs are shaking its different trust me I have been able to stop people assaulting others and my 7 years of training came easy. But when it was some guy three times my size with his hand on my throat lifting me onto my car I was only able to react after hitting the cement. I hope that you would be able to react in an actual situation, fast thats just my experience. I do appreciate that you are stressing to run.

  • @nagromgreen You sound like a pussy that had never been in a fight previously.

You ever ridden a dirt bike? The first time is scary as fuck. The next time is less so, and then progressively less each time. Fights are the same exact way. Maybe you shouldn't have been such a pussy in school.

Training isn't the same thing, but it WILL kick in if you train regularly. Not right off the bat for fags that have never been in a fight, but it will come to you after moving defensively for a few seconds.

  • Comment removed

  • @nagromgreen I didn't imply anything about you. I said you sounded like a pussy. And... you still do.

  • @nagromgreen I agree with you about saying "what I would do". However, I feel that if you really put some time into training yourself, making all of your techniques become muscle memory, you can go along pretty well with it, just that you may have to make changes to adapt to the situation.

  • i would relate that fluidity more to boxing because its all about the flow

  • self deafens is about having one tactic to use and suiting it to the situation, then in panic you don't try to brake the guys arm 6 different ways, just one. thats me though. i believe go for the collar bone or joints in self defence, hope i never need to though.

  • if i integrate a 4sevens xm18 into my edc i wont need a gun or tac knife.

  • To me self defense is all about Wang Chung. It is the best close quarters self defense technique and anyone can do it. Wang Chung is completely unexpected by any opponent and will throw almost anyone off guard in a typical self defense scenario. If you don't know what Wang Chung is, I highly recommend looking it up.

  • @icallgreens Seriously, though. Wang Chung is a real fighting technique.

  • Jeff u need to put Tex in his place.

  • enjoy getting your ass sued

  • I highly reccomend Biceps and Quadriceps (Upper arms just above the elbow, lower thighs just above the knee) either of these cuts will get rid of the hostiles either mobility or ability to use their arms but are very difficult to be lethal.

Remember, the object is NOT to kill the attacker, which with a knife can be a VERY time consuming thing, the object is to STOP the attack, and disabling their ability to use their arms and legs is the easiest way to do that.

  • Defang the snake and cut the eyeball.... nice.

  • Very interesting video. I had no idea a knife could be used non-lethally. The important thing to remember is that you're still using a lethal weapon non-lethally...like shooting someone in the arm. You still SHOT them. What if you were aiming for their neck? That said it's probably good to be able to say, "I never stabbed them."

  • You have gotten much better at making videos IMO :) You're old "full twirl" tutorial couldn't keep my attention for 30 seconds but this video(and part 1) kept me interested for almost an hour lmao.

  • ironically about an hour before this was posted i stabbed myself in the hand by accident and needed stiches :p

  • I have an experience with getting cut in the head. The day I got my kimura II, I was watching tuts on youtube in the dark with the blade open and just holding the knife... I went to scratch my head with the knife cause I thought it was closed and jammed the blade about 1/4" into my head right above the left ear. It made a loud pop sound and bled like a sumbitch.

  • @cutlerylover can you make a video real quick of eating a roll of toilet paper?

  • I used to live in a house, and have a decent knife, balisong, zippo, hot sauce, gun, outdoor gear, and doughnut collection. Also had a decent YT account with lots of subscribers. All went away one day when I put up some "non legal" knife fighting advice videos. Any lawyers out there,... please don't watch these videos.

  • Get a good tatical pen and use as first resource. Use blade as last resource. Jeff is right be aware of local laws, and know how you might handle a situation. And yes, before anything walk away avoid as much as possible.

  • I've been cut on the face pretty bad a couple times. First was on the forehead, about an inch wide. Bled like a motherfucker, and poured all over my eyes. All I could see was red. Second time was right beside my left eye. Also bled like hell. Strangely, it didn't hurt particularly bad either time.

  • Ever watch pro wrestling when they bleed from the forehead, they razorblade themselfs with a little piece of razor... and thats just a little cut. Imagine a knife cutting your head... you would be bleeding buckets.

  • @naz2999 but think about it this way. If someone would be so willing to hurt you they probably don't care that you not allowed to carry a weapon.

  • The Sogzilla is an Endura 4 rip off, lol. If that caught on your rage nob Jeff check out my: "Cold Steel Espada large G10 nasty cut" vid if you want to see what a small all be it deep knife cut looks like for real.

  • 5:51 aliens?

  • YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK TO THE POLICE. You are likely to INCRIMINATE YOURSELF if you do not wait for a lawyer. If you talk right afterward you may say something you later contradict, or blurt something that isn't true. In court police can ONLY present evidence against you--anything else is "hearsay." That's my understanding of the law.

  • im a pacifist and i carry (and had to use) a knife for self defense kind of contradictory huh?

  • @chrispwnu12 I've read something about principles that I thought was very interesting...the gist of it was "Hey so you guys are pacifists. What would you do if the enemy came in here and started eating their babies?" "Well, we'd take up arms against them." There may have been a better analogy but I can't think of it. Nice to know it's true in practice as well as theory, I guess? Heh...

  • @chrispwnu12 That makes you a regular sane person, not a pacifist... a true pacifist wouldn't have carried a knife to employ it...

  • if someone pointed a gun/knife/weapon at me than im sorry, but he/she is dead.

  • @levaslevas no reason to be sorry for that I agree better to be judged by 12 than carried by six, but there are plenty of situations where you will end up in Jail doing the right thing

  • @cutlerylover THANK YOU.

  • Jeff you look great

  • @TheGrubification thanks

  • Priority #1: Survive

    Priority #2: Minimize legal repercussions

    Priority #3: Minimize harm

  • Too funny!

  • What are the chances of someone surviving a gunshot to the chest?

  • @Gfdtink Depends on exactly where it is, how soon the person in question gets medical attention, whether or not extensive surgery is needed, etc. It's pretty hard to say, but you won't do yourself any good by assuming you will survive it.

  • @Gfdtink not as slim as you think peopel do it all the time

  • I don't know about in a real situation, but I think that if I was going to attack someone... and they cut my face... I'd stab 'em.

  • sorry that ive beeing viewing your videos for a year and a half and, just noticed hahaha

  • did you say boind them? hahahaha i think that the new york accent is cool

  • ASP batons are illegal for carry outside the home in my state

  • knife, gun, fists, batons, pepper spray...whatever the tool may be, my most common and most effective tool will always be the element of surprise

  • Where does the word " bab(b)ling" come from ? i heard you saying it in the vid somewhere near the end , now i'm from Belgium and we have a word/verb that's written as " babbelen" and this literally means chatting in English ... like not talking but to give an example the teacher at school says talking isn't aloud anymore and you still continue to do so then youre doin " babbelen" ... very strange the word is so similar to eachother ...

  • @viniv20 English is made up of words from MANY different languages. It's not surprising to learn that there are similar words in different languages.

  • @viniv20 babbling is the act of babble, spewing babble is words that make no sense

  • j88wolf, screw the box cutter, your better served with a steak knife. but a box cutter could work if you had nothing else.

  • holy crap! my face is broken :O

  • i'm glad jeff made these vids but i wish he woulda done more knife tactics in motion. people should take a peep at this guy..

RAW COMBAT INTERNATIONAL BY LUKE HOLLOWAY. he's seriously dangerous and really a cool family guy

  • i must be sick in the head because this video made me laugh out loud at least 3 times. "i don't know i've never had my face cut off before."

  • no paulantfilms....we're all good guys here.

  • how about use your fists to defend yourself?

  • @jake10846 thats fine in some cases
