  • SWEET!!!

  • 3801 has a SAR Banshee Whistle, Explaining the high pitched whistle which sounds beatifual to my ears

  • For some reason, the livery on the lead engine grabs my attention a lot

    I love the color

  • great engine and a great shot of it climbing. 5 stars

  • is this the same line that goes west through blaxland katoomba etc?

    awesome machines

  • @gmspeedfreak southern line from Picton to Mittagong.

  • @gmspeedfreak Nah Blaxland and katoomba are on the Blue mountains line which ranges from Lapstone to lithgow, Picton and mittagong are a good 60+ km away (I would know living in Blaxland) But I think 3801 does occasionly do special trips up through the mountains as I have seen the odd steam train go through (one went through about 2 weeks back on a thursday night heard it so I raced down to the station to see it go through)

  • Two glamouris 38 class locomotives great engines.

  • Write to your local member of NSW Parliament to get this line re-commissioned back to a serviceable rail line. Have a few Diesel Railcar's replace the bus service between picton and Bowral. The Diesel Railcar can shuttle like the bus already does, rail uses 1/3rd of the Diesel a bus does and can carry larger volume of people, plus does less damage to the roads, because rail can handle the heavy loads. Plus rail is alot safer to travel also.

  • Thanks for posting. It's neat seeing different steam engines from different countries.
