I've been thinking for a while that I might make a stop-motion manikin video, but the amount of works seems steep - so I'm happy to watch your video :)
i have a request for murphdog001: PLEASE could you make a claymation video? cos i am quite ruff when it comes to clay mation and i work with animator dv simple + so i can't do much please! you are really good at making smooth stop motion and i would like to see if you are better than mamshmam you should watch a few of his vids to get ideas also he has a tut on making clay figures or plasticine figures.
Wow! alot less than I thought....is it possible to use a tripod and make a stop motion with regular video editing software just editing the length of each picture to make it a fluid motion?
that might have been conservative estimate... I use a lot of repeat frame for pauses in the action, dialogue, etc. my later videos are longer and took several weeks to animate (at least).
How come minds responds to stop-frame and wooden doll the same way. Must be culturally hardwired thought processes.Overcoming the metal spike? You did this really well. ...I was going to render a complete scene in B&W. I started film making in Bradford, so maybe there's something in Yorkshire water? Love the film.
Thanks. Liked your stuff as well - keep it up. It's funny how movements tend to be the same... This mannequin makes a pretty good armature without having to drop a couple of hundred for a metal one.
Last time was Super-8 and a week's wait for the film to come back....only to realise you'd gleft the exposure on auto and so had to be done again.. Not super at all!
Great job.

Very good, I like the camera angle cuts. NIce and smooth.

that would take a while (I tried it!)... use a camera or use the camera setting on a camcorder (what I use)

About how many photos did it take to make this?

a little over 100. some are repeated during editing (for pauses, repeats, etc..)

I created a video response to your GI Joe video, but... You're work blows anything i'll ever create away! Simply outstanding.
Maybe I should just stick to create flight videos? lol

Mini DV Camcorder, iStopmotion (with onion skinning), Final Cut Pro (Express) - only way to go!

Sounds good. Setting a 2 frame clip length to stills in iMovie is a bit tedious. I'll check out your reccomendations. Thanks.
